Digestive Enzimes?

I have been taking probiotics but what are digestive enzimes? and should i be taking them? since I have a major problem with bloating and constipation, is this sometihng i should be taking? is that what they are called if i go to the pharmacy and ask for them?

Sorry your post got pushed down kind of far without an answer!

Digestive enzymes are compounds that help your body bread down foods (well, they smash giant molecules into smaller ones that our bodies can absorb).

Your body makes enzymes, but some of our bodies need a little help. For example, lactase is the enzyme that works to break down lactose (milk sugar).

People around here use lots of different ones, some seem to rise to the top as "favorites" but I don't know which ones they are. Hopefully this will bump your post up and one of the enzyme users will see it.

Or, you could search "digestive enzymes" in the forum search bar...it will find lots of posts from the past (even recent past) and show you what some of the brands are that folks around here use.

You don't need a doc for them or a pharmacy, you can buy them at any nutrition center, mail-order shop, some grocery stores. Of course, grocery store varieties might not be the best choice!

"Now" brand seems to be a well-received one, but there are several types with different numbers of antibodies, some have HCl in them and some don't.

Hope that helps a little while you wait for more info.

      Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic.       Ibuprofen

      Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce. Something is making my pain so much worse I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs. Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever...

      We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
