I bought some organic pumpkin in a can at Whole Foods and it was terrible!!!!!!! We usually love pumpkin pie in this house and we all only had one slice and it is rotting in the fridge (normal recipe).

It is Libby's for me for now on.

I just bought a can of Whole Foods "365" pumpkin and in the fine print it says it's from a facility that processes wheat. Pumpkin of all things!! Another donation to my friend's cupboard.

(Edited because it wasn't the organic pumpkin, it was the Whole Foods 365 brand. My bad)

OK so I need to know what size can are you using for the recipe? Are you frosting with a cream cheese frosting?

I used a 15 oz. can of Libby's Pure Pumpkin. I didn't frost the cookies (just spread plain cream cheese on them, lol) but cream cheese frosting would be great with them or the muffins.

Ok thank you. I would like to make frosted mini muffuns.

These muffins and the cookies sound really good - luckily I am picking up some pumpkins from a friend tomorrow.... :)

Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.
