Thanks for the info celiac3270! My parents live in Phoenix and I will drag them there for this pizza next time I visit, can't wait! I really miss good pizza.

Thank you for the information. It is 45 minutes from us, but plan on going this weekend. This is such a nice change from always doing PF Changs or Outback. Armetta :)

:D:D:D I e-mailed them, and the owner called me back!! He is currently working on sending a frozen version nationwide!!!!! Woohoo!! I told him that I would be MORE than willing to help him test them ~ he could send one to Nebraska any time! He said he would let me know when they are ready for production/shipping... so I will post here when that day comes. Hope it is soon!!! :D:D:D

OOOO!!! Tell him I know a GREAT faimly in NASHVILLE that be will to test and brag about thier products!!!!!

Heck I know a sotre nearby that would be willing to carry them I am sure!!!

(this is assuming thier product is a good as implied in this thread! So far not been hapy with gluten-free pizzas)

I tried this pizza out at their Scottsdale restaurant a few weeks ago... it is good, and it was really nice to go to a pizza place with friends and be able to eat something "safe."

Good points- It is a tasty rice crust... their toppings are great, and a non-gluten-free friend even had a couple of pieces. Waitstaff seemed pretty on the ball about the whole thing. It was good warmed up the next day as leftovers (it got a little crispier) so feel free to take some home to leave room for a gluten-free dessert (available at the restaurant) from the Aspire market. It is located across the parking lot, and is a super cool store/bakery that has everything gluten-free clearly labeled on their shelves (ie. anything gluten-free has a #5 listed on the tag, and dairy free is listed as D and so on... ). They're really nice and have a pretty wide selection of gluten-free stuff, a lot of which I've only ever seen mailorder before. I recommend a visit if you're ever in the area. (and no, I don't work there or anything, I just really appreciate places that put in this much effort.)

Other points- In my personal opinion (knowing that everyone has their own faves and dislikes, please take this with a grain of salt), this is a passable, if a little flat, and rather dense, rice crust that was not exactly what I'd had my hopes up for. Also, mine took a really long time to cook (my advice, order one of their yummy gluten-free appetizers to ease the wait) and then got soggy really quickly at the table.

Ah, well, at least things in the restaurant world are moving in the right direction! So hooray for picazzos for offering this service, and I'm sure I'll be back.

celiac3270 - THANK YOU! I just printed their gluten-free menu and showed it to my husband. We are going there this weekend! I am really excited to try eating out. I haven't really gone that route yet.

Jo Ann, which Outback do you go to? I'm nervous about taking my daughter and wanted to know if you've had success at the one by me (McKellips and gilbert roads)

I want to try the pizza place in Scottsdale even though it is farther away because i want to see the items available at the store across the street. I am so excited to try this. :)

I have not eaten at Outback since my gluten-free rebirth but I did speak to them right before I got my results. They seem great and their menu is just like their regular ones so you won't feel "different". I am going to go there this weekend too. I will let you know how it is. I go to the one on Clearview (near Superstition and Power).

They also have a Pacazzo's in Tempe but it is on the corner of Kyrene and Warner so that is pretty far south. I'm in southeast Mesa so it would be closer than Scottsdale for me.

Email me and let me know if you try either. Do you have celiac disease too or just your daughter?

Hi ladies I am also in Phoenix. The Outback on Power Rd. and US 60 in Mesa is good. Also, Chandler at the 101 and Chandler blvd. AND Ray Rd. and I-10. I eat at all of these and they're great. Also, Carrabba's Italian Grill at Ray and I-10 and Power and US 60 has a GREAT gluten-free menu. Outback and Carrabba's are owned by the same company.

Picazzo's is fabulous. I eat there every week. I work at Ray and Rural at Corona del Sol High School so it is RIGHT near my work. YUM!!!

Let me know if you need some advice on other places!

      Shingles - Could It Be Related to Gluten/ Celiac

      It has been the most terrible illness ever! Going on 3 weeks now… I had chicken pox as a kid… crazy how much havoc this dormant virus has caused after being reactivated! No idea what even caused it to fire back up. I’m scared this pain and sensitivity is just never going to improve or go away

      I refused to do the gluten challenge for a long time because I knew how sick I would be: I have always had and still have positive antibodies and have so many symptoms my GI was 💯 sure I would have a positive biopsy. D3, very high levels of B12 and an eating part of an avocado every day. KnittyKitty and others here can add what they take for skin health. A Dermatologist might identify the type of skin condition. By eyes you may mean eyesight problems not just irritated, red eyes. It is not very difficult to get a diagnosis of which eye condition is affecting your vision but much more difficult to find an effective remedy. The ophthalmologists I have seen have been only a little helpful. There seems to have been some advances in eye treatments that most of them are completely ignorant of or just won't add to their treatment plans.  Forcertain you may as well buy some remedy from a facebook ad but that is obviously risky and may actually damafe your eyes. However it is known that certain supplements , taken at the effectivelevels do help with eyesight. Two of them are Luten and zanthamin (spelling?)and certain anti-oxidants such as bilberry..    Hope this helps.

I didn’t want to make myself sick to get a negative biopsy and be more confused by all this.  He couldn’t guarantee me a negative biopsy meant no celiac bc there may not be damage yet or it’s possible to miss biopsies where there’s damage but he was so sure and convinced me I needed that biopsy I went back on gluten. It was a terrible experience! I took pictures of the bloating and swelling and weight gain during the challenge. I gained 9 pounds, looked pregnant, was in pain , couldn’t work or function without long naps and the brain fog was debilitating. And in the end he didn’t get a positive biopsy… so I wish I had never wasted my time or health going through it. I haven’t been truly straightened  out since and I am currently battling a shingles infection at 43 and I can’t help but wonder if the stress I put my body under to try and get an official diagnosis has caused all this. Best of luck to you - whatever you decide. It’s not a fun thing to go through and I still don’t have the answers I was looking for

To answer your questions, yes, it is possible for blood tests to be negative initially and become positive later as the disease progresses, which is why the biopsy remains the gold standard. Many, many people find the gluten challenge incredibly difficult due to the return of debilitating symptoms, so you are certainly not alone in that struggle. Wishing you the best for your exams and for obtaining clearer answers when you're able to proceed.

Is it possible you got some gluten in your diet somehow? This could be a possible trigger.
