  1. Hello. I know somewhere in this thread a "die-off" is mentioned after going "oxalate light". Could someone please elaborate on this? Or just explain what it is and what the symptoms of it are? Sorry, I just don't have the time to read this entire thread again. For what it's worth (thanks for that, Buffalo Springfield...), I have had very litle oxalate...
  2. I also just remembered it's Patti who started this! Thank you, Patti. Thank you Digestive Detectives All! lisa
  3. Oh, and, Gosh! I hope YOU feel better soon, too!!! lisa
  4. Thank you, Florence! What is MSM? Yes, my left hip issue is sometimes gone, sometimes there with a vengeance. (especially at night) The bloating has just been ridiculous for about 3 weeks after 3 glorious months with just a few "glutenings" and predominantly feeling well! Sheesh- it doesn't end, eh? But I know people have it worse than me. I have to...
  5. Reluctantly, because I'm tired of having problems with food, I looked at this thread and it is exceedingly interesting. I guess I will remove a few more things from my already lackluster diet to see if I see benefit in the end. I have been gluten, soy, legume, dairy, corn , nightshade free for one year and a half. But I continue to have some issues. Recently...
  6. Hi Everyone, I think I've asked this before so, sorry, but, are Fisher Nuts okay? I am looking specifically at their raw pecans. Anyone had any issues with this company? Thank you! lisa
  7. Hi, I've been using Lancome's "Le Rouge Absolu" for 2 years- no gluten, no soy-and do love it. It is pricey, but it lasts really well and no weird taste or anything. Good luck, lisa
  8. Thank you all! I will try one of those- thanks so much! lisa
  9. Thank you, Lorka- I'll try that. lisa
  10. Thank you, Blue-eyed mama. lisa
  11. Hi Everyone, I know this has been on here before but, could you tell me your trusted corn chip brands? No soy, no extra ingredients? I'm thinking of re-introducing a little corn at some point to see how I do with it now after 2 years without. Thank you! lisa
  12. Hi, Thank you all very much for posting. I am suspecting it's something else. I did put egg back in recently and think I reacted badly to that, but it seems that should be over with by now as that was a week ago. I continue the search. Patti, I think I'll switch to Domino's for awhile just to see... Thank you again! lisa
  13. Hello Everyone, If you eat sugar could you tell me which brands are gluten-free and safe? I have been using a Raw sugar (Turbinado) which doesn't say it's gluten-free but has only that ingredient. I have been reacting to SOMETHING horribly for two weeks and can't find what it is. ( I have a detailed food log for over a year and a half now.) I've been...
  14. Welcome, Cookie dough Girl! I am one of those "sensitive" ones- learned the hard way- and I remember feeling like you re: How could one crumb possibly be a problem?" It does get easier. My family chose to go "gluten-free' with me about a year ago because I kept getting CC'd. That way I at least know my house is fairly safe. Good luck to you. Oh...
  15. The next time a doctor implies celiac or gluten intolerance is a "cult" or "all in your head" perhaps someone could gently ask such a doctor how long it would take after holding his (most likely) hand on a hot burner before he knew he felt pain. Or how many times he would need to run his hand through a wood chipper before he decided it wasn't such a good...
  16. For the females with this pain: Please check this out with a GYN just to be safe. Celiac and GI symptoms can be many things. Where you've had this for awhile, KerriAnne, I think you should check out your reproductive system just to have peace of mind. Of course, you may already have done this. I have terrible abdominal pain with gluten and now am having...
  17. I am going through a frustrating period where I've added some things back after a year and a half gluten-free and now am symptomatic again. (9 days in) I had added egg back about 2 weeks ago (not a lot, but still...) I've been gluten, soy, dairy, egg, legume and nightshade- free for most of this time - a year and a half. Looking at my food log it looks...

    ARCHIVED Poll

I never eat out, but miss it. I'm too afraid of CC as I'm incredibly reactive. However! I am thinking of going out to the restaurant my daughter works at and ordering a boiled lobster! (This is silly, of course, because my son, brother and former husband are all lobstermen and they happily give them to me!) BUT! Just to have that lovely pleasure of...
  19. Margaret, Thank you for this topic. I've been a year and a half gluten, corn, soy, legume free and, after three great months (for the most part-still mysterious glutenings or something), am reacting to something again. It's been 5 days of pain and bloat and D and C and even with my DETAILED food-log I'm getting to my wits end. I am REALLY stuck on the...
  20. Thank you, JMD, lisa
  21. Thank you. I do eat rice- no other grains. I have been feeling MOSTLY good for three months now other than the couple of big glutenings. That's why this test took me so by surprise. lisa
  22. Thank you all for your replies. I clearly need to do more research. I know gluten is an enemy- I have done enough challenges to be assured of that. However, perhaps something else is going on or perhaps this is just "normal" for me. I appreciate your help. Thank you, lisa
  23. Hi, I have been a year and a half gluten, soy, dairy, corn, legume and nightshade free. I have CAREFULLY and painstakingly slowly added back potatoes (in the form of UTZ chips) and tomatoes and seem to be having success as long as I go SLOW and easy. I have also put almonds back slowly to much success. I react to many foods (I guess some of us should...
  24. Hi All, I am feeling INCREDIBLY frustrated. After a year and a half gluten-free I decided to see if my tTg levels had gone down. I tried to time this so I was feeling well and had had no suspected "glutenings" although, as Fate would have it, that was not entirely the case. The HIGHEST my tTG had been (after 4 months wheat-free) was 28 (scale: 0 to 1...
  25. Hi. I've been as "100%" as I can be for a year and a few months, as much as you can be on Planet Earth where wheat exists, and, yes, it helps! But I was experiencing intense pain along with 28 other specific and difficult symptoms so the difference is very clear now that MOST of those symptoms are gone. My "glutenings" are getting a little furthur apart...
