ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something

No I haven't been there yet. It is up in Palmer/Wasilla. About 1 h and 20 minutes drive from where I am. I am sure I will go one day though. We have mostly been to the mountains next to town here. They look lovely green now. Sounds interesting to be a Ranger. -

Yes, I can try doing that. I always wash the veggies with my gluten free soap. hehe (Gluten Free Savonnerie, their facility is free of gluten among other stuff and they test their stuff too) I am paranoid about washing my veggies after I got such pain when I forgot last time. You are probably very right about the food. One has to rethink stuff for... -

I use extra virgin olive oil. Had no idea the rest was bad. Lucky me. Nope, got no diagnosis of Candida, but I guess I am gonna try cutting out some sugar and see what happens. I hope I can go see that naturpath doctor in a while that was recommended to me by a co worker. She has seen him for years I guess. I am lucky that I don't get the fatigue... -

Yes, Salmon is good. My husband is gonna try to catch some here soon I hope. I buy it sometimes in the store but have had bad luck with fish sometimes there. It isn't always very fresh and can taste very different depending on how they clean it when they catch it. I bought fresh Tuna for a while but got tired of it. I bet Tuna isn't the greatest to eat... -

I am convinced. I am definitely bringing Candida and Lyme up with that doctor I hope to be able to see. -

No, no dressing. I tried some olive oil on it and it was okay the first time. Got nauseas the second time, but I think I ended up with too much. I am one nutritionally challenged person. Yes, I meant bell peppers. So you feel better now? What did you do to get better??? Share!! -

So what do you eat? Maybe I can get some ideas. Have anyone heard of The Environmental Health Center in Texas? Open Original Shared Link On Dr Fine's DVD a doctor from that center talked. It was very interesting I thought. All about people getting toxic and stuff. They have a products there in their online store (which many of them can be... -

Yep, those are little and bigger places up here. I live in the biggest town; Anchorage. My husband is born and raised here I am originally from Sweden myself. I have been here for over 5 years now though. Feels like home, most of the time. So how did you make your stomach like food again? I wish I could eat other fruits. I am so tired of Banana... -

Sure, I'll break it up more. I forgot. I am not ruling Lyme disease out. I am gonna ask to get tested when I see a doctor. Strange that the Lyme disease give you heartburn... Things never stop to amaze me when it comes to peoples health and my own, of course. -

That is true: banana is very sweet. Didn't think of that. I am allergic to apple, pear, peach, cherries, almonds, tree nuts, plums, carrot, strawberries. Do bad on Kiwi and get really nauseas on avocado (probably the fact that it is oily). Quinoa makes me nauseas. :( The salad had fresh organic spinach, red sweet pepper and cucumber. That... -

Do you grow them or buy them? I have had a hard time finding non-cross/contaminated ones. I was told www.sunbutter.com is an okay place, but they have soynuts in their stuff... I e-mailed them but haven't heard back. I am desperate for sun flowers seeds. -

I have been wondering if it could be an ulcer...or a gall stone that I passed. I have some thick stuff in my gall bladder according to an ultrasound a couple of years back. It's in my family. I had pain like this another time and blood tests showed nothing..and then the Celiac possibility came up so I was thinking it wasn't a gall stone, just the Celiac making... -

Oh, it is tricky to be away from this thread: it grows sooo fast. Thanks for your suggestions. I'll print the post out so I'll remember them. We owe like $1700 in bills already, so I am not wanting to see any doctors for now. I need to find a doctor though. This last week I have been bad. I had that salad one week ago and I have had stomach aches every... -

I have never heard a doctor before NOT wanting to treat that bacteria. That is the one they believe is behind most ulcers. Strange. I agree with Carla that doctors don't always do a good job. ---------- My stomach was odd feeling for a long time after I stopped with gluten. I did have some other food intolerances too that I figured out... -

I have so "proper" allergies that I need to go and check again. I was tested like 13 years ago last time. I need to see if anything has changed. ..and like you I am tired of guessing. It is very hard when the doctors can't agree on tests. It doesn't make things very easy. -

...I think my big problem is that we have like no money for doctors. We have a bunch of health related bills that we are paying right now. I can't go see a doctor for a while if it isn't an emergency. It is also hard to find specialized doctors up here in Alaska it seems. Maybe I should look for a homeopathic doctor..? I was bit by the Tics in Sweden... -

Thanks for the welcome everyone! Well...hhmmm..lets seee.. I got really sick in 2003 with nausea, stomach aches, chronic fatigue, memory problems (couldn't remember my own number if someone asked), irregular heart beat, diarrhea and freaky 24/7 heartburn that didn't get better on any medications (used to give me sores in my throat). I was tested... -
Yes, I can get diarrhea from other stuff too. Stress, if I eat a lot of rice, medication like antibiotics, chocolate..

Wow, this is a long thread.. I tried to read some of it but it is just too long to get a understanding of it.. I wanted to read it because I seem to still have issues after I stopped with gluten, casein and legumes. My stomach seems to get out of sorts so easily, I seem to be very sensitive to traces of stuff I can't have and sometimes I get sick not understanding... -

Yenni replied to Nathan's mom's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
I have kinda tried eliminating things and it hasn't made me all that wiser. Some stuff I figured out, but I seem to not like a lot of stuff and sometimes one things works and doesn't work after I have had it a couple of times.. I also would like to check my old allergies. See if any of it changed (stone fruits among other things). I guess ELISA doesn't do... -
I am staring to wonder if I will ever be able to have a "normal" stomach. If it will always be more sensitive than people with no intolerances. What is your stomach like after you stopped with gluten (and others stuff if you needed to)? Is it as well working as others or is it always a bit more sensitive and get "off" often?

I am also interested in getting some testing done. Is ELISA the best test you think? Is it reliable? Or are people just as skeptical to that as EnteroLab?
