ARCHIVED Gluten-free Products
Yenni replied to nama shivaya's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I use Gluten-Free Savonnerie products. Open Original Shared Link I have used them for like 5 months now and really like them. They just changed owners and I sent an e-mail asking about possible cross contaminations (they make soy containing products under another brand), but they are very carefull with that stuff and make them at 3 different locations. I... -
ARCHIVED Weak Positive, gluten-free For 2 Months, Getting Worse?
Yenni replied to celiac1's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I think EnteroLab does testing all over the world actually. So Canada would be fine I believe. They test for gluten, casein, soy, egg and yeast so far. I guess they are working on testing more in the future. I read on here that 15% of the gluten used in Teflon and plastic stays after they are washed. It gets cooked into Teflon. Using the same Teflon... -
ARCHIVED Weak Positive, gluten-free For 2 Months, Getting Worse?
Yenni replied to celiac1's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I am sorry you feel so bad. Cross contamination comes to mind here. Are you using the same Teflon pans as before and plastic cutting board. What about shampoo, toothpaste, soaps? Are they gluten free? Are you eating any mediactions that has gluten in them? Maybe you are missing something. Have you heard of EnteroLab? Maybe getting tests done by them... -
Not Jeanne but...I had no idea about the Canola possebly beinga problem. What do you all use when making popcorn? Oil I mean. That Ghee sounds interesting. "Free of Wheat, Gluten, Lactose, Casein, Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Egg, Soy, Corn, Rice, Potato, Sugar, Yeast, Sesame" I wonder what is left in there... I migh have to try that. I usually...

ARCHIVED Green Tea
Yenni replied to Yenni's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Thanks all. I'll take a look at your suggestions. Strange how many uses Soy. I almost find soy harder to avoid than gluten these days. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Intolerant, Not Celiac
Yenni replied to KarenLee's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
So I think I missunderstood this. I was thinking that she needed to get tested but those tests only pick up Celiac anyways. She could carry a celiac gene still though, getting it from a parent while you didn't get it. But maybe she should get tested by EnteroLab instead then maybe. I think I am confused about the differences between Celiac and non-celiak... -
Can anyone recommend a gluten free, legume free (not that I think they use that in there but I thought I'd mention it) and caffeine free green tea? Thanks.

Could you recommend any books? I am very interested in this stuff too. I hear ya about forgetting everything. Please feel free to share any other interesing stuff about this. hehe

Do you know how to un-do it? Have you done anything to try or..? I wonder if that can change back; the inability to excrete them? If there is anyway to do that? I am thinking about buying some of Dr Rea's books..but I am not sure if they would suit me. Would be interesting to hear more from anyone that has studied this some. Dr Rea mentioned...

Oh and I meant to ask if any of you have problems with mediaction at all? Since I was a child I haven't been able to eat Ibuprofen because I get shortness of breath and severe fatique from small doses. (My mom has this too.) I noticed that after my stomach problems started that I am sensetive to medication. I react to things like an elderly. I usually get...

ARCHIVED Gluten Intolerant, Not Celiac
Yenni replied to KarenLee's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
No, I meant the doctor Karen's sister saw. There was a doctor that was speaking on Dr Fine's seminar. He said he was gluten intolerant. He hadn't been able to get any children because his sperms wouldn't swim. 5 years after he stopped with gluten he now is becoming a father (of he probably is a father by now). He said it was because of the gluten... -
I can so relate to the restaurant and vacation part. My SIL used to lactose intolerant and I remember one time when she forgot her enzyme pills and she couldn't have any ice creme. her poor husband almost had to leave the restaurant to drive home and get them for her! It was a big thing and everything that is slightly hard for my SIL is drama. But she has...

ARCHIVED Gluten Intolerant, Not Celiac
Yenni replied to KarenLee's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
But doesn't gluten harm a non-celiak gluten intolerant person still? I am not sure I see the difference there. Seems no matter what genes you have (celiak or non-celiak) gluten still is harmful. I am a little with Carla about Gluten not being that great for anyone, but people do not handle that opinion very well I have noticed. I don't like the... -
Here is the homepage of that Environmental Health center: Open Original Shared Link They have a store there where one can get some recommendations on what stuff to use. Most of them I have been able to find locally. I am a little interestded in getting one of the water filters. I guess the plastic bottles that most water comes in give away a lot of bad...

Yes, it is his DVD. I liked it. I felt I got inspired by it and felt I got many questions answered. What type of dog is yours? Mine is a 50/50 mix of German Shepherd and Labrador Retriver.

ARCHIVED Calling For A Prayer For My Sister!
Yenni replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I am glad she is doing better. I'll send of some good thoughts her way. -
Oh, I'll be thinking of you. I was a complete wreck when I was gonna have one done too. It wasn't because of gluten and I had it done in Sweden (where they give nothing but a little spray to numb the throat). Let them know you didn't get enough meds to sleep last time, if they don't already know. My heart goes out to you. I hate those things too. I...

OH, I love your doggie picture! I got it here: Open Original Shared Link I am really glad I bought it actually.

I was listening to Dr William Rea from the Environmental Health Center (Dallas, TX) at the "Intestinal Health ...and beyond!" DVD. He mantioned that if you have more than 6 allergies you always have chemical sensitivities too. I thought that was pretty interesting and it is true when it comes to me. I have well over 6 allergies besides my intolerances and...

Yes it felt very nice. I was almost expecting a battle there. I got Antibiotics for 10 day (3 times a day). The last year I have had a hard time getting well when I get viruses (I started out with the flu before I got the sinus infection). It probably has to do with my body being busy with the Celiac.

ARCHIVED How Do You Deal With Other People's Reaction
Yenni replied to ami27's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Or a Sister in law like mine. I would stay away from her as much as you can. It is hard for me to handle other peoples remarks. My husbands family do not understand me much. I have gotten much more understanding from strangers than them. I try to ignore it. Just do my thing. I know I feel better this way and do not need more proof.
