ARCHIVED Sick Of Being Gluten Free
killernj13 replied to darkblue's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Most of the gluten-free donuts I have seen are frozen. Couldn't you or your parents explain your situation to the church group. Maybe there is a freezer or fridge available in which you could store your gluten-free donuts and then bring them out prior to mass or nuke them so they would be avaiable for you to eat with your friends. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Breakfast In New Jersey
killernj13 replied to adk's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Greenhouse Cafe - LBI I am assuming you mean a place that actually has gluten-free rolls etc. -
ARCHIVED Reese's New Candy Bar
killernj13 replied to bincongo's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
This has come up before. Some of the Reese Peanut Butter cups that are made for holidays have wheat in them. They are usually different shapes like Christmas Trees for Christmas etc. We assume they need to add this to get the special shapes. Just make sure you read the packaging. -
ARCHIVED Bard's Tale Beer, Dragon's Gold (Still Exist?)
killernj13 replied to fallout1's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
If you can find Greens. They have three different types so maybe one would be to your liking. However, they are expensive ($5-$6 a bottle). I tried them and seem to remember one being a heavier beer. Don't drink them frequently due to the cost. -
ARCHIVED Redbridge
killernj13 replied to ksymonds84's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Please read KARENG's post in this thread. She has an email from the company stating it is not being discontinued. They did stop making it for a month to reformulate it so your liquor store maybe confused. -
ARCHIVED Redbridge
killernj13 replied to ksymonds84's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
From reading the article I got the impression they were reformulating it so they could be sold in all states. Maybe the new batches have started shipping yet. And you said liquor stores won't sell it but grocery stores would if it is over 3.2%. WOW - I would assume it would be the other way around. I live in Jersey so we only have a couple odd liquor... -
ARCHIVED Redbridge
killernj13 replied to ksymonds84's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I actually read a few articles about this just yesterday. If you google Red Bridge Beer you can do the same. The first stated the same thing you are posting here to which I was quite pissed off. There were other articles stating that the beer had to be reformulated due to the alcohol content being over 4%. Apparently, there are 5 states that would... -
OK - I just watched it online and I was so pissed at the beginning. Good thing they added the Dr. to set the record straight. Although, I disagree with her opinion that the fad will end. With more and more people getting properly diagnosed this is not going away. I thought I saw a bag of M&M's on the gluten side of the table at the end. Is there something...

ARCHIVED gluten-free Pizza At Yankee Stadium
killernj13 replied to killernj13's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
Had it at Sunday's game and it was very good. Also, was cooked on its own tray in the oven to avoid CC. The only drawback was it took 15 minutes but worth the wait. -

Sec 125 at the Famiglia stand. Seems you may have to order it and come back as they said it would take 10-15 minutes but at least they have it. Didn't get a chance to try it so can't comment on the quality. -
ARCHIVED Udi's Bread
killernj13 replied to DMarie's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
My non-Celiac daughter ate all my Udi's bread even with regular bread in the house. If that isn't an advertisement I don't know what is. -
Go to Redbridgebeer.com and put in the zip code. There appears to be a lot of places that have Red Bridge in the area around the Ballpark.

I can enjoy a beer at a ballgame again. They had it at the end of last season and I am glad to say it is back as I was there today. It is only at certain Beers of the World stands. But there is signage for it.

killernj13 replied to irish96's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Risotteria on Bleeker St. Neven been there but have heard only good things. -
It was 5 years ago but I had success on Carnival. They allowed me to bring in food so I had a lot of gluten-free snacks, bagels and muffins etc. In the morning they heated them up for me. I met with the Matre D on the first night and explained the situation and he hooked me up with someone else. I don't remember the title she had but each night she would...

ARCHIVED Bailey's Irish Cream....gluten Free?
killernj13 replied to kimis's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Here is the statement from the website: Gluten: Please be advised that the whiskey used in Baileys Irish cream is manufactured by fermenting grain which contains Gluten. Due to the presence of gluten in the whiskey components before distillation we cannot absolutely guarantee that there are no effects to coeliacs. As we are not qualified to give medical... -
ARCHIVED Bailey's Irish Cream....gluten Free?
killernj13 replied to kimis's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
They used to have the CYA message on their website that they could not guarantee it was G/L but stated the distilling theory. I've had it in the past and felt fine. But everyone is different. -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free Or Friendly Restaurants In Toronto?
killernj13 replied to Lissa's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Villa on Bloor St West Toronto and Johnny Rocco's in the Niagra Falls area were very good when I was there in August. -
ARCHIVED Woodchuck Draft Cider
killernj13 replied to Swimmr's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am going to give a half assed answer but I do recall a cider not being gluten-free. Can't remember the brand but I am pretty sure it was only a certian variety that was not gluten-free and the others were ok. I believe it was a "draft" variety that came in a bottle that was no good. Original Sin is another I have had that is gluten-free and was good... -

killernj13 posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
General Mills OK - it has the CYA of it may contan wheat but other than that can you see anything that is prohibitted. You just have to follow this link and click on Reese Puffs. They must have taken the malt out of the recipe because I always thought this was no good. -
