  1. Laura, Good luck with the stock. I've had Sirius since the summer and it is great. It would be worth it even without having Stern. If the stock doesn't start going up after this week, with the doomsday reports on XM, then I don't know what will help it. Hope it turns around for you. Kevin
  2. Howard was ripping into McDonald's since they would never advertise on his show. Stating how they think they are high and mighty yet sell horrible food etc. Robin interjected with the stories on how their french fries have more trans fats than originally. As I wondered if we were going to get some publicity Robins mentions the wheat and gluten story as...
  3. Well these corporations care about profits and when they see the sale of gluten-free products had something like a 300% increase this year they will realize they need to keep providing them for us.
  4. Amy's has frozen Mac & Cheese and Pizza. You can find them at Wegman's or Whole Foods. Also, Foods by George has a very good pizza. They are based in Mahwah, NJ and I think they ship. I've also seen gluten-free pizza crusts in WHole Foods or even SHop Rite. You can make your own pizza with the crust. Good luck,
  5. I've had the Ramapo Valley gluten-free beer and it is very sweet. Its made from honey & molasses. My suggestion is to put a lime / lemon in it like you would a Corona. That made it taste a lot better. I drank about 8 of them on Super Bowl sunday so I can say I enjoyed it.
  6. I've contacted Absolut and they are gluten-free going under the fact / theory that the gluten is distilled out. I say fact / theory because some people who are super sensitive in regards to gluten say they can't have vodka unless its potato. Also, someone posted here recently a response that Jagermeister is OK for us. Also, Balileys is ok going with...
  7. Why is there a press release about trans fat but no mention of the gluten problems with their fries? We get no respect!!!
  8. I went on a Carnival crusie and they were quite good with the gluten-free experience. I spoke to the matre D and the Ass't Matre D the first night and then they took my order for the next night a day in advance for the rest of the cruise. For breakfast they would toast my gluten-free bagel for me. They even offered to cook gluten-free pasta for me if I...
  9. Well, they've updated their gluten-free list and french fries are off of it and the wheat and gluten columns are checked on their allergen list. This still does not fix the fact they had them are their gluten-free list when they knew they were not gluten-free.
  10. Well the conspiracy theorists will have a ball with this one. Here is what I got when I tried to email McDonalds: 403 Forbidden You do not have access to this script. Worked fine last night. Even tried a differenct email account to see if they blocked my message since I had sent one already. Didn't work either.
  11. Yes, they definitely changed it since last night. The french fries are still listed on the gluten-free list but the "X" has been removed from the column to indicate "Wheat" and "Gluten" from their allergen information list. It seems they don't know what they are doing. But here is another issue I just thought of. The gluten free list states "McDonald...
  12. Ok - I can see them not listing the wheat as an ingredient prior to 1/01/06 since they were not legally forced to do this. It may be immoral to deceive your customers at that time but it was not illegal. However, the true negligence here is MCd's listing their french fries on their gluten free lists when they indeed were not gluten-free the whole time...
  13. Just wanted to update on the RVB gluten-free beer and offer a suggestion. The first one I drank was very sweet. Obviously, since its made with honey and molassess. I wasn't realy enjoying it and thought I had wasted $30 for three 6 packs. Well, my sister suggested I put a lemon in it like you do with a Corona. After, that I thought it was great. So...

    ARCHIVED Alcohol

Could it just be you are not drinking alcohol as much as you did before you were diagnosed and your tolerence level how gone done? Basically you may just be getting "drunk" faster than you are used to. I know I have gotten drunk quicker because I have been drinking vodka when I used to be a beer drinker. Also, I read a low carb diet lowers your alchol...
  15. Their website - newgrist.com states it is now available nationwide and several posters here have said Whole Foods is going to carry. So hopefully it will be available in NY soon. New grist also has a phone # on the site if you want you local liquor store to carry it. I have the RVB gluten-free beer as well but I am waiting for Super Bowl Sunday to...
  16. You have to be careful with this. First off its in Swedish which we don't understand. Second even if it is gluten-free in Sweden does not mean it would be gluten-free in the US. Also, posters in other threads have stated that these beer companies are only testing for wheat gluten when they announce that their mainstream beer is gluten-free. As you know...
  17. You state the doctor said "eventually" which is possible. They are doing tests for certain medications however who knows when they will be available and what the side effects could be. I would take it myself down the road, if the side effects were not terrible, but if you read some of the posts a lot of people here would just stay gluten free. As far...
  18. What Wole Foods are you referring to? I used to get Bard's Beer at the Whole Foods in Manhattan but they have not had it in months. Thanks
  19. You state you will be carrying Bards Beer. Have you been in contact with Bards Beer recently? Its seemed around 6 months ago they had a brewing issues and stop production. It is rumored here that they have gone out of business. Just wondering if you have heard anything from them since you are a retailer. Thanks, Kevin I doubt Carlsberg...
  20. Hello, RamapoValleybrewery.com. They have it and used to ship it. I haven't tried it. Maybe you can call them. I have tried Bards Beer which I bought in a Whole Foods in Manhattan. Unfortunatly, they haven't had a shipment in awhile and they may have gone out of business. I emailed them and have not received a response. Also, its not beer but...
  21. I've had reactions to nuts as well - bad DH and a rash. But not all the time. So much that I went to allergist to get tested for a nut allergy. Which I don't have. It was at a time I was doing the South Beach diet and eating a ton of them. I assumed it was just from eating too many. But you make an interesting point. I have emailed Planters so...
  22. I took a Carnival Cruise in August and thought they did a great job in the dining room to accomadate my celiac disease as well. What ship were you on? I basically handled it the same way you did. I even ate at the outside grill. The meat was cooked on the grill with the buns on a plate and all they cooked where burgers, dogs chicken and steak. No breaded...
  23. Dannon & Stonyfield state on their websites they cannot quarantee their yogurts are gluten free due to some sort of process. They may just be covering their asses but who knows? Yoplait is one of the only mainstream yougurts I researched that stated they were gluten free except for the obvious ones with cookies or granola etc.
  24. I ate at Pastamoria in the Citywalk. I know I am spelling it wrong. I had a steak and asked for no sauces etc. The waiter seemed pretty knowledgeable about gluten-free. They also had a flourless chocalate dessert which I had. It wasn't great but hey it was cake. Didn't go to these but their are a PF Changs,. Carrabbas & an Outback in the Orlando...
  25. I had a similar situation at PF Changs recently. We went there because there was 2 of us dining with celiac. We asked for the gluten-free menus and verified the appetizers were gluten-free as they brought them out. The server was very helpful and understanding (we had a party of 14 with 8 kids) and brought out the gluten-free soy sauce etc. However...
