  1. I've also gotten over the "go last" thing if it's a buffet. I head straight to the front of the line and serve myself from the dish I brought (and any from trusted sources) joking about getting there before the crumbs do. Nobody really minds, but it goes against everything my grandmother taught me!!!
  2. OK, I had to go look. My Penne are oeganic, my elbows are with rice bran and the tri-color twists don't say either, they're just brown rice pasta. (my store had a sale on Tinkyada a couple of weeks ago, and at the price they get, I bought several on sale!) I'm a shape buyer!
  3. I'm sorry to hear about all the trouble you've had figuring things out. I'm not one of the experts, they'll be along. But I can tell you that I was one of the weight gainers; and my weight would fluxuate 5-7 pounds in a day before I went gluten-free. It may not be one of the more common symptoms, but it was one of mine. Good luck with your detective...
  4. and then there was red lobster who said, we change our menu so often that we can't keep track of stuff like that. Guess where I have NOT eaten in 3 years! I just wish I had a Bonefish here!
  5. I eat Amy's frozen rice Mac and Cheese. It's pretty good.
  6. My fist gastroenterologist said OBS on the first (and only) visit. The second teated my GERD and looked for a diagnosis for the intestinal stuff. He did a biopsy when he was doing an endo for the GERD. Luckily he didn't tell me so I didn't "know" I didn't have celiac. My new GP, still fresh out of residency, suggested I try a gluten elimination...
  7. since you brought up alton brown, he's the one that suggested you should clean out your meat grinder with, you guessed it, bread! I guess I should just use gluten-free bread?!?! now, really, I'd LOVE to see Alton do an eposode on gluten-free cooking and the chemistry behind our alternative starches an the advantages of guar gum vs xantham.
  8. well, I know painfully for a fact that prilosec OTC has gluten. I also had some trouble with generics. And Walgreens mailorder just doesn't get it. I had to slowly and distinctly say to a manager "You poisoned me" before I even got their attention. on a brighter note, Mucinex says right on their web page that they're gluten free. I sent them...
  9. Thanks for the info. I've been gluten free 2.5 years. negative endoscopy, but positive reaction to gluten-free and inadvertant challenge (my wheat allergy friend can eat spelt, I found out I can't! )
  10. Where? I'm new to Pittsburgh and I live in the south, although I go to school in town.
