  1. Probably not. IF I had also lost some weight during those months... I'm sure I would have stuck to it. But it's not an easy diet to follow and when I didn't see results of any kind, I gave it up.
  2. I happened to stumble back onto this thread when doing a search on google. I'm amazed at how many people have this disease! Since my original post in 2007, I've been diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (Autoimmune Hypothyroidism). I'm sure that I had it for many years prior to being diagnosed since I've had many hypothyroid symptoms for years. The...
  3. Here is a new list: Purina to voluntarily withdraw Mighty Dog
  4. I need to get a senior ad (those ads they sell to parents for the back of the school yearbook) mailed in within the next couple days and I'm having a hard time coming up with something to write in it. Originally we were going to use the Winston Churchill quote "Success is a journey, not a destination." but I just really don't like it for my daughter. Today...
  5. Chris Richardson is one of my favorites, I like his voice. He seems like a genuinely nice kid as well. I have to agree the guys were boring last night. ZZZZ... Hope the girls are more entertaining.
  6. I agree it does have a aftertaste, I wouldn't say metallic, but definately not pleasant. It's a little strong for me (I'm used to a very light beer), but it's nice to be able to sit back and have a beer with friends.
  7. I think different anti-depressants work for different people. It does take a while to get used to them, I'd give it another week or two and then talk to your doctor about switching if the side effects are bothering you. I was on Paxil for about a year and for me it worked very well EXCEPT that I gained about 20 lbs. Also do NOT quit this cold turkey like...
  8. I've been gluten/wheat/dairy free for 2 weeks now and haven't seen any weight loss at all. Is this normal? My basic meals go something like this: B - gluten free cereal and soymilk or a couple scrambled eggs L - small green salad with cucumbers and celery with gluten-free dressing 2 regular sized gluten-free hotdogs with mustard (no buns...
  9. If you want the IGg blood tests, go with a different company than York (now Optimum Health Resource Labs). I ordered one of the 96 food panel blood tests (for $379) back in August and didn't get results until January. I probably wouldn't have them at all except I happened to call once and someone actually answered the phone (they don't reply to emails either...
  10. I thought the guys did great last night! I'm thinking Sanjaya might be leaving, Brandon might leave too just because he picked a slow and somewhat boring song. Looking forward to the girls tonight. Missed them last week. Vote for the Worst site is pushing votes for Sundance and Antonella. Unfortunately I do think those anti-AI people do make a difference...
  11. A lot of people who have a problem with gluten and wheat also have a problem with dairy. The cheese may be the culprit. Try the pulse test next time you have dairy. Pulse Testing: This method measures the pulse rate before and after eating a meal. If the pulse rises or varies more than 16 beats after the meal or any time during the next 24 hours in a...
  12. Emily, I have a lot of the same symptoms as you so I can relate. I've been having the constant headaches for over 5 months now (mine go away during the spring and summer usually), tried some meds but quit them due to side effects and have just started the gluten-free (plus wheat and dairy free) diet a week ago so I'm not seeing results as of yet. Hopefully...
  13. Chocolate can kill dogs, although I doubt your dog ate enough to do that. I found this: "Milk chocolate: 1 ounce per pound of body weight. Approximately one pound of milk chocolate is poisonous to a 20-pound dog; one-half pound for a 10-pound dog. The average chocolate bar contains 2 to 3 ounces of milk chocolate. It would take 2-3 candy bars to poison...
  14. Yes, you just need to use any carbonated drink. Let me know how yours turns out!
  15. I had high liver enzymes once but had taken a couple Tylenol about a half hour before the blood test. Acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol and other painkillers can really mess up the liver. Once I was off the Tylenol, my enzymes went back to normal.
  16. I've been an Idol fan since season 1! My favorites so far are Blake and Phil (dreamy eyes!). Chris and Brandon were good too. Open Original Shared Link
  17. Picture of my bread (half gone ) Tweaked a recipe by substituting soda for the beer and gluten free flours for the wheat flour. I thought it was a bit too dense and too sweet, but it wasn't crumbly. My gluten tolerant daughter thought it was really good. If I make it again I'll use about half of the sugar and try another flour instead of the white...
  18. Thanks guys! Guess I will ask her to get some New Grist and if she can't get that to go with the Red Bridge. Yeah Larry, I guess my days of being a cheap date are over.
  19. The lady at our local liquor store said she would order some gluten free beer and I need the names of a couple good brands for her. I prefer a light tasting beer (I was drinking Milwaukees Best Light or sometimes Michelob light). Any recommedations? It's been less than a week on the diet and I'm already missing my beer. Thanks in advance.
  20. Are these dairy-free too??
  21. Thanks! I don't live near Springfield, but will be going through there on my way to Branson this summer. Sounds like a super place to have lunch!
  22. You can make your own Ghee easily. Open Original Shared Link I made some yesterday but haven't tried it yet.
  23. Hi Michelle, Thanks for your reply and the link. I read part of it, but need to go back and read the other sections. I had thought of just having the fibroids removed, but most of my pain is from the ovary area..so I don't think that would solve my problem. My Mother is the only person I know well that is unhappy with her hysterectomy. She...
  24. I just picked up a bag of Mrs. May's all natural Cashew Crunch at my Super Walmart (about $2.50 for a 5.5 oz bag). It says No cholesterol, gluten free, dairy free, vegan, wheat free and no preservatives. Ingredients include: cashews, sesame seeds, rice malt, evaporated cane juice and sea salt. Can't comment on taste yet as I haven't opened them yet (waiting...
  25. I'm new here too and probably not a lot of help. I don't think I have celiac disease, but I do think I have a intolerance. I did have one of the $350. blood tests that you mentioned and according to it I am sensitive to Gluten, wheat and dairy. If I feel better after starting the diet later this week, hopefully getting rid of chronic migraines, fatigue and...
