  1. Amy try not to get too nervous. My OB told me today that Celiac will not make the pill any less effective. I know some doctors have no clue, but he seemed pretty knowledgeable in both and has recently seen an increase in celiac patients so his practice has been doing a lot of research. I was on the pill for years before I found out I had Celiac and I am FERTILE...
  2. Did you check with your internist again? Maybe he should send you to another GI doctor if he thinks you have it but the GI doctor wants you to have to make yourself sick again. Man it upsets me that a doctor would tell you that you have something and to stop eating gluten and then another doctor in the same practice would tell you to go back on gluten...
  3. Michelle, How can you tell if a biopsy is done wrong? My daugher is going to the dermatologist tomorrow and I'm hoping they do a biopsy because she has DH and hasn't been diagnosed yet, so how can I tell if they do it right or not? Any suggestions?
  4. I mostly get them all over my chin, but they come all at the same time, so my chin is covered with them. They are usually very deep and painful, and they generally do not heal well. I actually have a small bump on my forhead from one that never healed. It doesn't hurt anymore, but it bothers me a lot because I know It's there. I also get smaller ones on the...
  5. I never had ache problems as a kid, teen or young adult, and I MEAN NEVER!! As soon as I had my first child I started having major issues with achne. I've tried to figure out why and thought that it may be anything from my meds to eating chololate (but chocolate never did it before). There seems to be no link!! Is it normal for Celiacs to have achne problems...
  6. Ice cream is my downfall right now mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!! Chocolate Chip to be more specific
  7. Thanks so much for the suggestion Marcia. I'm trying like mad to get my daughter to eat gluten, but she just doesn't eat much of it. She'll eat a cracker here and there, or a half a piece of toast, but she won't eat much else. She's figured out that if she eats bananas, potatoes and popcorn that she doesn't get sick so that's about all she'll eat. Pretty...
  8. My Hunter had that and he's 5 now and still throws up at least once a month. We had to mix cereal into his formula from 3 weeks old because he would spit up at least 3/4 of what he ate. I breastfed too but was never able to get him enough so we suplimented. He was tested for acid reflux and that came back negative and he was tested for some other intestinal...
  9. It happens to me too. I can't stand still because of it. I'm ok if I sway back and forth, but standing still causes me pain. My heals are often very sore even when I put then on a pillow. Just to rest them on something is very painful. The good news is that my pain is not half as bad since going gluten free and having my leg numbness and tingling disappear...
  10. Nope I'm not sure what that means, but I'd be interested in knowing. My dad got rushed to the hospital a while back with chest pain they couldn't diagnose. It apparently WAS NOT a heart attack and they never gave him a diagnosis or reason and his liver enzymes were elevated. I believe my dad has Celiac and am actively trying to get him to go be testes, so...
  11. Yes that's why because she has not been officially diagnosed yet. I tested positive and she tested negative with the blood test. My daughter has a rash that I'm sure is DH but it comes and goes, and I need the dermatologist to see this rash so that they will do a skin biopsy!!
  12. I've had 2 sinus/nose surgeries and I need another. Unfortunately the only thing that works for me is steroids and I absolutely HATE them. I am putting off my next surgery until I figure out if my sinus issues get better without gluten in my diet. So far they seem to be ok, but lately I've had some wicked nasal itch and drip and some asthma, and my chest...
  13. LOL thanks for the info. Unfortunatley an IUD is not an option for me. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. I guess I'll have to do some more research and see what I find out !!
  14. Wow thanks for the info. It's worth a try right. I don't actually have any iodine, but I'll run to the store later and grab some!! I'll let you know what happens!!
  15. Wow thanks so much for posting that article. I was thinking about asking my dr. about the vaccine, but I didn't realize that HPV was sexually transmitted. I guess I don't need it so I'm definitely safe on this one Oh I missed the age deadline too so I must be an "OLD LADY" Now Hehe.
  16. Usually she has at least one or two spots, but she hasn't been eating lately and when she does she only wants bananas or potatoes, but she's going to the dermatologist tomorrow and I need her to have some spots. Is there any foods that can initiate an "almost" immediates response. She's only 2 so I can't force her to eat anything, but I gave her a few...
  17. I use crest and it doesn't seem to bother me, but I've heard Tom's Of Maine is gluten free so I bought some, but the taste was HORRIBLE - IMO LOL!! I'm glad to hear that crest isn't suppose to have gluten. I use the cool mint gel though so I hope that one is also gluten free!!
  18. It's my opinion and my opinion ONLY that some people just have such strong feelings and views about things that they can't even STAND anyone even talking about anything that varies from their staight and narrow belief on certain things. Sometimes the subjects scare them so much that they just refuse to hear anything else. It's just that someone somewhere...
  19. Ok I've always had major weight gain issues with the pill so I haven't taken it for years. I did try it a couple of years ago after my daughter was born but again had bad luck with it. I always thought it brought my sex drive way down and made me super tiered and moody. Now I'm finding out that Celiac causes most of that, and I have problems with discharge...
  20. Boy I'll tell you that this is soooooooooooo very frustrating. I have it and I'm sure my husbands tempermental attutude comes from the frustration he feels after years and years of me being sick and now he just thinks that I'm going to be "cured" just like that. I think it can be almost as hard for spouces to deal with then those of us who have it. My problem...
  21. Nope that's not me at all. I have 4 kids and the first thing to always go flat is my stomach. My butt, hips and theighs on the other hand are reletively LARGE LOL!!
  22. My SIL said she heard it does, but on my toothpaste it pretty much says flouride. Does anyone know if toothpaste has gluten? Does anyone know if ventolin inhalers have gluten. I can't use the no brand one because it gives me the shakes like you wouldn't believe. I can take VENTOLIN though and I don't get the same side effects from it, does anyone else...
  23. I guess that could be a possiblility, but I'm quite confident it wasn't dust mites. We are very careful and we have air purification units all over the house because my son has had major vomiting problems since he was born. We have top of the line air purification systems in every room, we wash everything in hot water and dry it all in the dryer. I shampoo...
  24. Well I do not always have to ingest gluten to have a reaction. I have figured out that when I wipe bread crumbs off the sideboard and then itch my eyes (before I could wash my hands) I had a major eye allergy reaction that I am sure came from the gluten. I have had major eye allergies that I take eye drops for during the last 3 or 4 yrs, and I could not figure...

    ARCHIVED Chest Pain

Yup I get them too, but they usually only last a half an hour to an hour with me. I don't get them very often, but the stabbing rib pain used to be constant with me and I've been rushed to the hospital with it before!! Mine has almost completely gone away since going gluten free, but once in a while I get a mild case of the rib pain again!! I hope it...
