  1. Hi There - I had this problem a couple years ago - I was very freaked out too! Turned out just to be an anal fissure (small tear - saw a lot of blood - and pain! has she mentioned any pain when going to the bathroom?) Anyway, just had to take stool softeners for a few weeks to make things pass easier and it went away. Hopefully it is something...
  2. Hi Elizabeth, I think Ursa is exactly right. Doesn't look like you have much fat at all in your diet. I was also hungry all the time until I started adding more fat to my diet and taking out some carbs. I try to eat more things like salmon, almonds, cook with olive oil, etc. I also think that would help!
  3. Hi Tom - I have been to Cooqi a couple of times - it is hard to find! It still has a sign on the building that it is an embroidery shop. Their multigrain bread if fabulous - I definitely recommend it! It's about $5.50 for one loaf, but it's worth it. I always call and reserve bread before I go because they usually run out right away. I have also...
  4. mmm! I second that! my favorite!
  5. hahaha - that is too funny! thanks for the laugh
  6. Hi There - I just started gluten free again about 2 months ago. I was gluten free from the time I was 2 until I was 18. A doctor mistakenly told me at that time that I did not have Celiac Disease - and unfortunately, I didn't question it. I started eating all the foods I could never have before and it was great - I hardly ever got sick - until about...

    ARCHIVED India?

Wow - great info. My hubby and I are looking into traveling there sometime next year. This info helps a lot - I am not very familiar with Indian food. Have you traveled there?? Have a great trip "justme"!
  8. Wow! You are a baking pro! Thanks for all the help. The cookies do have peanut butter, but I better get some xanthan gum for future use anyway. I'm making them tomorrow for work on Monday - cross your fingers for me - I am not the greatest baker to begin with
  9. Have you tried making cookies without Xantham gum?? I don't have any . . . maybe I better go back to the store! But my recipe only calls for 1 1/4 cups flour, so that would be a pretty tiny amount of it anyway . . .
  10. Great!! THANK YOU
  11. nope, not sweet bread - I am making cookies. I think I better just stick to rice flour - don't know what I am going to use that baking mix for though, other than if I make one of the three recipes on the back . . . Wish I would've paid more attention to that before I bought it!!
  12. Hey all you baking experts - I want to use an old (not gluten-free) recipe to make my favorite cookies. I was just going to substitute some Arrowhead Mills gluten-free all-purpose baking mix for the flour my recipe calls for, but I was looking at the gluten-free flour mix, and I see it already has baking soda and baking powder in it . . . and the recipe...

    ARCHIVED Torture!

Yikes! And I was just complaining to my hubby that they ordered pizza for everyone at work for lunch today and I had to sit and eat my chicken and rice . . . and you couldn't eat at all - that IS torture!! Hang in there!
  14. Hi Melanie - I also had this same problem. Finally figured out it was dairy - which is strange, because I don't ever remember having issues with it before I went gluten free. Dairy seems to be a very common problem around here Hope you feel better soon
  15. From my Immunology book from college: Blood serum levels for IgA deficient persons are usually found to be 7 mg/dl or less
  16. Hi Jerry - I had the same problem - felt fabulous the first week I went gluten free, then all of a sudden started getting D every day. After about a month (and some help from people at this site) finally figured out it was the dairy. I don't remember having issues with dairy before, but I sure have them now. Could be one possiblity . . . good luck...
  17. Hi Terri-Anne, This may vary depending on what lab your doctor orders your testing from, but these are the tests that are included in a Celiac Disease Panel in the lab I work at: Tissue Transglutaminase Antibody IgA and IgG Gliadin Antibody IgA Total IgA Good Luck - Hope you find some answers.
  18. I don't know, but my psoriasis has sure gotten alot better since I've gone gluten free!
  19. Laura - Let me know what you find out
  20. Hunt's Ketchup is NOT gluten free - says on the website: Open Original Shared Link
  21. Hey Sonja, I found this on their website: Do LACTAID
  22. I have not heard of that place - I will definitely have to try it out! I don't know if you've heard of it or been there, but last week my husband and I went to Chianti - It was so good. I never thought I'd be able to go to a "regular" Italian restaurant again! They even brought out my salad with sunflower seeds instead of croutons. Food was great - they...
  23. Hi Amy - I just went there this afternoon. I guess they opened 3 weeks ago, and were not prepared for the huge response they got! We were there about an hour and 1/2 before closing, and all they had left were a few cupcakes, some carrot cake, and cookies. They were out of all their bread, muffins, pizza crust, and all the mixes to take home. I put...
  24. Hi Mary - Thanks for the info - I like educate myself My D has totally disappeared (except for a couple of days after I accidentally glutened myself during Christmas) now that I have been taking Lactaid with all my dairy - so I'm pretty sure that was the problem. Hope you are feeling better! Cute puppy BTW
  25. I know there are a few of you in the Minneapolis/St Paul area . . . I read about this place in the paper yesterday and just wanted to pass along the info. I'm going to try it out this weekend. Open Original Shared Link
