I have made lasagna with Tinkyada and did not precook - it just takes a little longer - about 80 - 90 minutes.

I agree with what Momma Goose said. You were diagnosed once - you have it. I was diagnosed at age 2 (by biopsy), then mistakenly told at age 18 that I didn't have Celiac, then re-diagnosed at age 27, 5 months ago - I had positive bloodwork, and decided not to have another biopsy. I didn't feel I needed confirmation again, and my doctor was ok with that...

Wow - what terrible customer service! That's disappointing.

Nope - I am working out the same amount as I always have. I spend 1 hour at the gym 5 days a week and don't have the time or interest to be there any more than that. It's frustrating knowing I am getting healthier on the inside being gluten free, but I sure looked better on the outside eating all that gluten I'm just hoping that my crazy hunger will...

I'm so frustrated. I have been gluten free for 5 months now and have gained 7 pounds. I know that's not a huge amount, but I was not underweight before. Does it just take a while for your metabolism to adjust? Does it ever adjust? I'm always hungry, just like I was before! It's just so frustrating because I know I'm eating less than I used to (no more...

ARCHIVED Ian's Natural Foods

I eat the chicken nuggets all the time - they're great! The fish sticks are also good, but I wasn't too crazy about the turkey corn dogs. -
Ortega Taco Seasoning Mix
LisaJ replied to BeckyW's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I found this on their website: Q. Do you have a gluten free list for Ortega products? A. Ortega has been following a strict labeling policy with regard to any allergens in our foods and incoming ingredients. We have insisted that our suppliers notify us if gluten is used in any of their ingredients and yet is not declared on their labeling. Thus... -
ARCHIVED Don't Think That Its Dandruff Anymore....
LisaJ replied to Canadiangirl's topic in Dermatitis Herpetiformis
I had the same problem for about a year and tried every over the counter product there was - nothing helped at all. Finally went to the doctor and got a topical steroid for it. Worked wonders - I wish I would've gone to the doctor sooner! -

ARCHIVED Re: Re Diagnosed
LisaJ replied to lorna's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Lorna, Same thing happened to me. I was diagnosed at age 2, then told at age 18 that I didn't have Celiac. I was just re-diagnosed 4 months ago (I am now 27). It's horrible how ill-informed about this disease doctors can be! -
ARCHIVED Just Wondering Who's From Minnesota
LisaJ replied to linds's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Just wondering if you still need to reserve things from Cooqi . . . I haven't been there in about a month. Last time I went they were still out of almost everything, and I was calling to reserve bread ahead of time. Hopefully they have hired more help?? -
Sounds very plausible to me! I continued having gasto problems after I went gluten free until I got rid of the lactose too. Have a great time on your cruise!! My hubby and I just got back from Belize and it was great. It was so nice to be warm

Trix Cereal Gluten Free?
LisaJ replied to JayT's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
hmm - this was the only thing I could find about it - from the Clan Thompson Celiac website: September 5, 2006: Trix Cereal (regular): General Mills has reformulated this cereal and new boxes now contain gluten. Read the label. If wheat starch is listed as an ingredient, it is NOT GLUTEN FREE. If there is no wheat starch on the label, it's part of the... -
ARCHIVED Looking For A Whole Grain, High Fiber Cold Cereal
LisaJ replied to Lexis's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I also eat Perky's Nutty Flax cereal every morning. I wouldn't say it tastes *good*, it doesn't really taste like much at all. I add a banana to it - that helps. It has tons of fiber, which has really helped me out, so even though it doesn't taste fantastic, I eat it anyway. -

LisaJ replied to singingserena's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications

I'm wondering how long it usually takes for tTg IgA to return to normal after being on a gluten free diet. To make a long story short, I was diagnosed at age 2 with Celiac, was gluten-free until age 18 (when a doctor told me I didn't have Celiac after a normal biopsy), then was "re-diagnosed" 2 1/2 months ago after continuing problems and positive blood...
