  1. I have seen all the posts about the Cadbury Mini Eggs. I always look forward to them at Easter. So does that mean the chocolate bars are in the same boat?
  2. I'm wondering maybe the jelly beans. I know if I eat too many candies with citric acid, I will get blisters in my throat. I know they can be so frustrating, but a sign of some kind of allergy. I hope that you figure it out. Wendy
  3. One thing that I have missed since going gluten free is licorice. I was at Walgreen's today and found this bad of Sweet's Licorice Flavored Taffy called red & black. Even more impressive was the fact underneath the ingredients it said this product is gluten free. It was even in clearance too!
  4. HI, If your bloodwork looks like sign of celiac then you have it. You can have a false negative, but not a false positive. I went gluten free even though my bloodwork was negative. Going gluten free for me cleared up symptoms that I had complained to my doctor for years about. Good luck and I hope that you feel better soon.
  5. I'm beginning to think now that maybe I'm allergic to it. Bummer I really love it.
  6. I am wondering if maybe I am allergic to salmon. I baked it with gluten free seasoning in the oven. It seems to me that the last couple of times that I have eaten salmon I have gotten a gluten reaction. Is this possible?
  7. I have a pair of mauve colored pillowcases made from bamboo. They are very soft. I think I've had them for over a year now. Wendy
  8. I have a pharmacist that has been very helpful to me since I went gluten free. When I was trying to figure out what I was missing, she checked all the drugs that I was taking. She did have to get back to me. One of the items was an ointment and the manufacturer had told her that it wouldn't matter if it contained gluten because it was an ointment. I was...
  9. I stopped in the Dollar Tree and found Harvest Farm Chicken Broth and Beef Broth. I have to try it, but a dollar for 32 ounces of broth. I was impressed under the ingredient list it states FAT FREE GLUTEN FREE. The allergy warning is manufactured in a facility that processes soybeans. Chicken Broth Ingredients: chicken broth from concentrate, salt...

    ARCHIVED Hot Flashes

I do know that I need to get my hormone levels checked. It is a little harder for me to figure out, since I was born without a uterus, I've never had periods. My one lonely ovary does still ovulate, but I think that is happening less now.
  11. Thank you for posting the link to that article. I found it very interesting.
  12. That is me on the weight too. I am 53 now and weigh 106. I have been married 33 years and weighed 99 pounds when I got married. I was always the smallest, skinniest, shortest child until high school. Iwas also a late bloomer. I had all sorts of itchy rashes growing up. I have a little sister that is celiac. I can't believe it took so long for me to...
  13. I wrote Yoplait asking if the Whips are gluten free. They didn't answer that question. This is the reply that I received from them: All headers Dear Ms. Martin: Thank you for contacting Yoplait regarding gluten in Yoplait yogurt. It is our goal to help our consumers determine whether or not they can include our products in their diet...
  14. It sure is nice to see the words GLUTEN FREE on a package. Thanks for sharing. Wendy
  15. I've been gluten free since January 1, 2007. I'm sure the night sweats I had for years were probably from gluten. I do take synthroid for thyroid. I quit taking estrogen about a year ago. I ended up stopping cold turkey and didn't notice any difference at the time. I really wonder if I was even absorbing the stuff. I am 53 and I have notice more hot...
  16. Dear Lori, I was where you are at 2 years ago. I know it seems that nothing stops the itching. I did take Benedryl and sometimes it at least helped to sleep. Don't give up, it takes some time to get the gluten out of your system. It will get easier. I went gluten free the beginning of 2007 and in about 3 weeks I finally stopped itching. I did find...
  17. Dear Lisa, I just figured out how to make scones myself with a little help from a dear friend. I'm not sure if this is "authentic English" but I was trying to make something on the order of Great Harvest Bread scones that I ate pre-gluten free. They came out pretty close in taste, but a little more delicate in texture. Here is what I did: 1 cup Fearns...
  18. Dear Rachelle, Thank-you for your nice reply. I guess the hardest part is the waiting until my daughter gets her into the specialist. I know that my daughter will treat her as a normal child. Thank-you, Wendy
  19. Hello, My daughter called today about her youngest daughter. She was born at 37 weeks weighing 4 pounds 7 ounces. My daughter did have an emergency C section because the baby was in distress. She is now 8 months old. She only weights a little over 12 pounds and has only gained a little over a pound in the last 2 months. She is a big eater. My daughter...
  20. The ingredients in the label. I believe that I have DH. I had horrible itching for almost a year. When I wrote them, they replied it shouldn't matter since I wasn't eating it. I am not sure about their bar soap. You could call or email them to find out. Wendy
  21. Hello, I wrote Oil of Olay after using their Hypoallergenic body wash. I did discover it had gluten. They informed me that they didn't see causing a problem for celiac disease because you would have to ingest it. All I know is that it left me with a horrible itchy rash. I don't bother using their body wash after that. It is possible the formulation...
  22. I know on the Chicken, Wild rice, broccoli, cheese dinner I saw it posted on some celiac site. I have no idea which one now. I try to take leftovers for my lunch, but try to keep them on hand when I don't have any. It would be great to know it they have other ones too. Wendy
  23. The baby is adorable. I'm glad everyone is doing well. You look great holding that baby. Wendy
  24. The only one that I know of is the Chicken, cheese, broccoli, wild rice dinner. I have been eating it with no problem. It would be nice if there were others. Sometimes I have no leftovers for my lunch.
  25. I have a little health food store by me that really is more into vitamins. I will say they are expanding their gluten free products. I buy Fearns white rice baking mix for 1.61 and the Fearns brown rice baking mix for about 2.00. They don't have a huge selection on the flours, but I buy any they have because they are so reasonable. I did buy Xanthan Gum...
