  1. Can't have dairy.
  2. I make these all the time but don't peel and I cut in wedges or chunks. Can't have mayo.
  3. I could do the first two, but don't the others have egg?
  4. I did post it here before, but I'll tell you again. What I started with were Tinkyada large shells, cooked and cooled. I then cooked and mashed some Russet potatoes. I used 6 super huge potatoes and 2 boxes of shells. This was too many shells! 1 1/2 boxes would have been a better amount. I finely chopped about 1/2 of a small Walla Walla Sweet...
  5. Okay, I'll try that. I have bacon, if it's still fresh! Bought two packages at Costco. Eveyone was eating bacon for a while and then they quit!
  6. They might eat this! This one looks a little different than the others I've seen. Does it look like what you are talking about? Open Original Shared Link
  7. Hmmm... That's one thing I've never made because my dad said his mom used to make it and it gave him nightmares. What's in it? Vinegar? If so, that sounds like the stuff I made with the Yukon Golds. I think it just had vinegar, sliced onions and sliced potatoes. I liked it okay but nobody else did.
  8. My friend went to France some years ago and said I would love the restaurants there because they bring around vegetables of all kinds. They just start piling them on your plate until you say "stop"! Which he didn't do because he wasn't paying attention. He said he had a huge plate of green beans. Of course I don't know if those veggies have sauce or...
  9. I usually use Yukon Gold potatoes for everything I make that calls for potatoes. But recently I purchased a huge bag of small red ones at Costco. Why? They were very cheap. I know I can put them in soup when the weather gets more chilly. Too hot for that now. And I can roast them or do them up in the crock pot. I like to do them whole or cut in pieces...
  10. I buy all kinds of fresh produce and meat. Carne Deshebrada Carne Asada Chicken and Apple Sausages Bacon Ham Asst. Lunch Meats Some frozen treats Cheese Hummus Baked Beans Asst. canned vegetables Applesauce Rice chips Veggie chips Rice Broth Canned meat and tuna Stuff for my cat Paper goods Soda Water Juice There are probably some things...
  11. Thanks! Looks like a pain to make though as I don't typically keep those flours in the house and the flour mix I have isn't like that. Daughter won't eat anything with raisins in it and really I don't even know if she likes English muffins. They are not something I bought very often. If I found them on sale, I used to get them and make pizzas out of them...
  12. We do eat a lot of hamburger. Daughter won't eat patties, perhaps because it is the one food she can almost always get a restaurant so perhaps is sick of it. I do have a huge package of chicen in the freezer. I am saving it for when husband comes home. I don't like chicken very much and can't see eating it for days on end. I think I will just cook...
  13. Because of my gastroparesis, I can't eat much meat. I can do hamburger and technically I can do chicken although I can't much stand to eat it. Only if it is in tiny pieces and mixed into something. This is why so often I buy a single piece of meat for my daughter. I do get the packs of ground beef at Costco that come 3, 1 pound packs together. That...
  14. I used to eat a lot of Ian's chicken nuggets. Daughter doesn't like them, but will eat them once in a while. Same for the fish sticks. AFAIK there aren't any others we can eat due to other allergies. There are some expensive breaded fish pieces I get for her once in a while, but I don't like fish. Can't eat pizza because of my allergies. I don't know...
  15. That would work if we had a freezer, but we don't. Just the little one in the side by side and it's always full.
  16. I am very aware of power outages. The house where I grew up used to have them for a week! And then I was living in NY when we had that huge one that lasted for about a week. We really didn't want to eat much then because it was during the summer and it was sooo hot! I remember opening a can of green beans and passing it around. One can was pretty much...
  17. I would think you could do rice bran for oat bran. And maybe flax seeds for the wheat germ?
  18. I have seen this claim elsewhere and also that the wax may not be vegan as it may have insects in it. I have not however, seen any proof of this claim.
  19. I use a recipe I found online for the meat used in taco salads. It was about a pound of ground beef, with a small green bell pepper and small white onion finely minced, 2 Tablespoons chili powder and 2 Tablespoons of ketchup! I never would have thought to put the ketchup in there. And prior to that I had not been using nearly enough chili powder. However...
  20. I lived alone for many years and didn't seem to have a problem cooking for myself. There were a few things I couldn't do, just because they made so much food! Like the pasta salad with tons of veggies in it. I would just make those things when I was going to a potluck so I would get to eat them once in a while. And with a lot of foods, I don't mind eating...
  21. That could be an iron deficiency. My friend had that when she was severely anemic. Then they started breaking off badly.
  22. I used the coconut oil and egg replacer and they came out wonderful! Even the people who didn't need to eat gluten-free liked them. They didn't come out so well using Nucoa margarine.
  23. I can't use it because I have an almond allergy. But I know plenty of diabetics that use it for pie crusts and muffins and such. My daughter and I (also allergic to almonds) recently ate a pie with a crust made with almond flour because I didn't notice it in the ingredients even though I read through them twice. Duh! It was gluten-free though. I...
  24. I honestly don't know. I never let my daughter lick them, just in case. But... There was a time some months ago when I was mailing out a bunch of stuff. I can't remember now if it was Christmas cards or pictures or what. The envelopes I normally buy have that strip that you remove so they don't need to be licked. Whatever these were, they needed...
  25. What kind of chocolate chips were they? There are some at our health food store that are sweetened with grain. I'm not sure they are gluten-free. Other than those, I've never seen any unsafe ones.
