  1. Too funny ! A lot of times, I don't sign in - I don't know if that's a problem or anything. I guess that would make me a lurker. I like lurking. It makes me feel safe.
  2. I've always been a terrible blusher. I know - it doesn't seem like a problem, but it is. In job interviews, in social situations, and all my life, I've never been able to tell even the slightest fib, or have a cool conversation. It seemed it had really actually disappeared quite a bit these last few months, but I accidentally glutened myself yesterday...
  3. Just wanted to quickly say thanks Patti (jerseyangel). I appreciated that. My glass is looking fuller lately. Hawkfire, if you see this, just wanted to say Kudos ! You're right, of course - acceptance is the problem mostly. I've been working on that.
  4. I'm kind of hesitant to post, but I'd really like to, if that's okay. If you look at the quote from the original thread, I made ref. to the years of therapy. I'm really just giving you my perspective - not necessarily advice. snowcoveredheart, I could give you the tough love thing and say that you should snap out of it, but I don't think you're at...
  5. Hi Walter, Welcome It's a wild ride. Your life will probably change in a lot of ways, and things will become a little clearer - and then, a little unclear - and then clear again - and so on... There are a lot of people on this ride. This forum can help fasten your seatbelt, or warn you of an upcoming loop de loop. Hopefully you won't sweat it...
  6. Hi, I know this is tough - especially when you're so young & don't have problems now. Let me tell you what's toughest for me: losing my 20's. I'm 39. I can't say whether I would have had the drive to do it when I was that young, but if I only knew what I know now. I spent all of my 20's and most of my 30's battling anxiety, depression, and symptoms...
  7. If my theory is correct, 98% of us have the ability to wrecklessly jump to conclusions. 2%, while being "half abnormal" , or completely abnormal, have no choice but to think about stuff. I've thought about it, and I think the answer is right there - over-thinking. A thinker will think momentarily about the answer - analyze quickly, if you will....
  8. A quick hello. I'm going to post a real one in a couple days, but just wanted to say hi. I'm down 3 lbs again - back to where I was last month, but I can't really attribute it hard work. I kind of lost "it" for a while, but I think I've found it again. Whew ! By the way, in general I have to say that you ladies with kids ... I really respect your...
  9. OMG - Red Hammer. I guess I'm average - who would have thunk it? How does that happen?
  10. Sorry you're having a rough time. I had a mini breakdown on Monday, myself. Thank heaven for the years of therapy (sounds sarcastic, but it's really not). The thing that keeps me away from MdD's and Jack in the Crack is actually not the gluten fear, but the engineered food fear. You have no idea what they put in that stuff. I'd recommend watching the...
  11. I guess it's about the dairy - the butter, really - sour cream, cottage cheese - you know - all the stuff I like. At the same time, it's about a couple other things. I'm just bummed again. It's about the fact that MSG is in everything, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Hydrogenated / Partially Hydrogenated fats - I miss eating only whole foods, but it's a lot...
  12. gfp, If you'd be so kind - how do you make the mayo? I'm really suspicious of mayo from the store, and try to make everything else at home, but mayo ... that's a tough one. Thanks, kat
  13. On second thought, just the protein test would be a much easier way to rule it out. The cholesterol test will probably be unneccesary unless something shows up on the simpler (protein) test.
  14. I'm going to second this - I have the kidney thing too. Swelling too. If you haven't had your protein checked and you decide to, you may want to get your cholesterol checked also. Could have nothing to do with this. One of the symptoms you will sometimes have with this is "foamy" urine. Your BP looks low. High BP is usually associated with this...
  15. Yes. All my compulsive (except one stupid one) urges are gone. I can actually sit & relax & enjoy a moment
  16. The Zone is pretty practical - you can mix it up. Kind of tough, but pretty do-able. Dr. Barry Sears - here's the website. Check out the "Enter The Zone" Tab. Open Original Shared Link
  17. Off subject: No, I'm really stoked this subject came up. I just know that I don't know much. I'm not gonna go eat worms or anything

  19. Man, that leaky gut thing (what a disasterous condition) - I don't really understand what that means, exactly, but it seems to me that it's all connected in some way - my guess would be the resulting inflammation. I think the inflammation is the problem with everyone here - Celiac, Allergies, joint problems, my crap (no pun i intended) ... wouldn't it be...
  20. Okay, I
  21. Yeah, I was wondering for a while if antihistamines would help with my situation because of this. I found a ton of info while I was investigating food allergies & general allergies because there seems to be a pretty obscure connection between my condition (not celiac?
  22. Here's a quote from the Mayo Clinic site, not about the histamines you may take in, but the histamines your body will produce to ward off perceived offenders . Open Original Shared Link " In a true food allergy, your immune system mistakenly identifies a specific food or a component of a food as a harmful substance. This causes certain cells to make...
  23. I found out a couple weeks after my elimination diet (confirming a problem with gluten) that my Uncle Jack (Father
