Ok. So I'm having a slight obsession with toast right now. I haven't given in to the craving but last night it was all I could think about. Can't wait for Phase 1 to be over and to get rid of the cravings. I am happy to say that I've lost 2 pounds already. YAY! Which is what is keeping me going. Today's plan: Breakfast - one egg over easy and canadian... -

Gina, You can have canned tuna. Cheese (low fat) and cottage cheese are also allowed. If you send me your email address I can send you the phase 1 list of foods to enjoy and avoid. These are some of the tuna/vegetable based recipes I found so far. If you like chicken there's a lot of yummy recipes. White Bean and Tuna Salad Serves 2 Ingredients... -

The great thing about this diet is how forgiving it is. At least that's been my experience. When I did it the first time I found I could cheat once a week and not ruin the whole thing. The diet was set up knowing that we will make mistakes and that we are only human. I think that's what I like best about it. Dr. A really gets it. What are you in the mood... -

I used to love Annie's Asian Sesame Dressing but had to give it up because of the gluten in it. Does anyone have a recipe for a salad dressing similar to this? Or is there a gluten free premade one that you like? Thanks!

Laura, I was so excited to find your thread! I've done South Beach in the past and lost 30 pounds without even exercising. It was really easy. I want to start it up again but have some questions. In Phase 2 what do you do about the starches (breads, cereals, etc)? When I did the diet before I used whole wheat products. So I guess my question is - can you... -
I've dined at Stout a number of times and I just wanted to let everyone know how superbly wonderful this place is. They are so accomodating and are really willing to work with you to have a gluten free dining experience. When I go I email Gail (I think she's the owner, but she might be the manager) and let her know I am coming. Here's an one of the emails...

I've tried the My Kind of Chicken, Chicken and Black Beans and Chicken Mediterranean. I thought they were good. I keep a few of them in my desk drawer at work for when I really don't feel like bringing in lunch. They only take 2 minutes in the microwave. -
I love suon nuong which is charcoal grilled pork chops that have been marinated in lemon grass, honey or sugar, garlic and fish sauce. Sooooo good. Highly recommend it. I get it every time I have Vietnamese. I like it so much I even make it on the grill at home. I think it should be safe. Make sure the fish sauce is gluten free. Com Chien which is a type...

One of my dearest friends is having her daughter's first birthday party at La Lanterna in Yonkers. Has anyone eaten there? What did you get? I sent an email over to them explaining my situation and I hope they are willing to accomodate me. I'd really hate to miss this party.

ARCHIVED Distended Abdomen - Help!
Dandelion replied to Dandelion's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
oh duh! I bet they aren't. Such a dumb newbie mistake. I didn't think they were since the distended abdomen is my only symptom. I can usually tell if I've been glutened. Anyone know of a gluten free acid reducer? I have to be on it for at least three months according to the doctor. Had no luck with prilosec. -
ARCHIVED Distended Abdomen - Help!
Dandelion posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Before going gluten free my abdomen was constantly distended. I could have passed for a pregnant woman it was so bad. Once I went gluten free my abdomen flattened out. All was fine and good until I went for my endoscopy in mid-April. I've been completely bloated since. Anyone else have this reaction? I haven't had any gluten since then. All I can think of... -

ARCHIVED Lets See Who Can Answer This One?
Dandelion replied to whattodo's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I wish I could give you an answer. I had the same symptoms but it was prior to be gluten free. It has something to do with neuropathy I think. Someone who is a more advanced member can fill you in on that. Maybe that's what is happening to you? I hope you feel better. -
ARCHIVED Could I Have Been A Celiac Previously?
Dandelion posted a topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
My bloodtest came back negative, but my doctor felt that because of my symptoms and relief from not eating gluten that we should go ahead with the endoscopy and biopsy. To give you a little background, I was diagnosed with IBS two years ago, but never got any better no matter what I tried for it. This January I decided to try a gluten free diet to see if... -
ARCHIVED Painful Acne- Any Good Tx?
Dandelion replied to jesscarmel's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I was getting terrible cystic acne until I went gluten free. It mostly went away when I switched cleansers. But what has really cleared up my skin and gotten rid of acne marks is Derma | Style by Lumiport Portable Acne Light Pen. I got it at drugstore.com. It's pretty expensive but I have to tell you it's completely worth every penny. I decided to get it... -
I go to Dr. Gary Schwartz of Gastroenterology Associates. They are located at 1103 Stewart Avenue in Garden City. 516-248-3737. I love Dr. Schwartz. He really listens to you and doesn't have one of those doctor superiority complexes. They also have a website - Open Original Shared Link.
