  1. Ok. This is probably the stupidest question ever, but could someone better explain spamming? I just read the forum guidelines and I'm not sure I get it. If someone posts a question about a product and I answer it and then a few weeks later someone posts a similar question and I answer that with the same response is that spamming? Thanks.
  2. If you can get it in time the Derma | Style by Lumiport Portable Acne Light Pen works wonders. I swear by mine which I got from drugstore.com. It seriously gets rid of pimples quickly and was worth every penny I paid for it. If you Google the name maybe an actual store might sell them. Good luck.
  3. That sounds wonderful. Thanks for posting it!
  4. My bloodwork came back negative and my biopsy came back with no signs of damage, but my doctor lists me as gluten intolerant based on my dietary response. So I would say that dietary response is proof enough. I too was gluten free before I went to get the blood test and biopsy, but I felt so good that there was not a chance I would eat gluten again just for...
  5. Sorry for the confusion. For some reason whenever I try to type a topic in all caps it comes out in sentence case. I was just trying to find out if anyone else was in Alpha Omicron Pi out there. Their abbreviation is AOII. They use two i's at the end to symbolize the pi, but since it didn't come out in all caps it looked odd and I couldn't figure out how...
  6. My reply from Smashbox: Dear Beth, here is the most updated list of items: Gluten can be found in products that conatin wheat/rye/barley derivatives. Most smashbox products do not conatin gluten, however the follwing products do: Limitless Lash That
  7. Random but I thought I would check?
  8. My fave is DeBoles. Open Original Shared Link. I know you can get it in Stop and Shop and Whole Foods. Even my husband likes it and he doesn't need to be gluten free. Definitely better in taste and texture than Tinkyada. And they have so many different varities - even a no boil lasgana noodle. I use the rice ones not the corn.
  9. Could you tell me what type of cat food you use? One of my cats has the same problem. When he uses the litter box in the basement I can smell it upstairs!
  10. First, I want to thank you for supporting your husband and child in their gluten free life. I know it's hard. I know it's frustrating and scary and annoying and overwhelming and irritating. But it gets better. I would hope that your husband would take a more proactive approach to his food. Maybe he should be on this site too. Does he ever go grocery...
  11. I am going to contact them directly about this. I'll post their answer when I get one.
  12. I was just about to buy their That's A Wrap Mascara from Sephora, but the description states - "That's A Wrap mascara contains advanced ingredients and wheat proteins that deeply moisturize and create a natural film around each lash making them appear longer, thicker, and fuller, as it conditions and moisturizes each lash." Does anyone else use Smashbox...
  13. Where do I sign up? lol. I have a wonderful doctor, but he's in Nassau County. Dr. Gary J. Schwartz. The link to the practice's website is Open Original Shared Link. It might not be too far for you though.
  14. Here's a link to one of my favorite dishes from Fine Cooking magazine. It's salmon over cannellini beans, kale and bacon. So good. Tastes like you got it from a restaurant. Open Original Shared Link I get most of my recipes from either their magazines or the Fine Cooking cookbooks. With a Whole Foods close by it's really easy to find gluten free ingredients...
  15. I've found that by me (on Long Island, NY) Whole Foods is actually cheaper on a lot of products than Stop and Shop. So it's not as bad as it's made out to be. I like the variety at Whole Foods and the fact that they sell lots of gluten free products. Less worry for me. I also find it to be so much cleaner and the food fresher than the regular grocery stores...
  16. Hi, I keep saying I'm going to post and then don't. Sorry. My ulcers have been acting up and so I can't eat a lot of freshand/or acidic fruits and vegetables right now. I also have to be careful with how much protein I eat because it seems to aggravate them if I eat too much. So it's been modified (really modified) South Beach for me. I do plan on doing...
  17. lol! that's my thinking too! this could be a very dangerous thread for me. too much enticement to shop.
  18. www.couponcabin.com www.momsview.com www.spoofee.com I shop online a lot.
  19. Please, please, please watch how much advil, alleve and excedrin you take. I used to be in constant pain prior to going gluten free - abdominal pain, joint pain, terrible headaches and took tons of over the counter pain relievers to get through it. Well now I have three almost bleeding ulcers because of it. I am lucky that I do not need surgery (yet). I am...
  20. Ooohh - the Schooner. My mom loves that place. I just hope they can accomodate me. I think I'll email them and see what they have to say. Thanks for the suggestion.
  21. Hi Everyone, My mom's 70th birthday is coming up in August. This is going to be a really hard one for her because my dad just passed in February. Orginally we were going to have a big 70th birthday/40th anniversary party for them but we cancelled that. I still want to do something special for her because she could use it. My mom said she wants to go to...
  22. I feel like I need to do the extra week on Phase 1 because I haven't been taking this as seriously as I should. The other problem is that my husband hasn't been allowed to eat for two days due to medical testing so I've been trying to make things that don't have strong smells. (Don't want to torture him.) I've unfortunately been eating a lot of bagels and...
  23. Hi Mary, Welcome to South Beach! Is this your first time on the diet? I'm on week two of Phase 1, but I am extending it for another week because I wasn't as good as I should have been. We had a bbq over the week and let's just say the diet was the last thing on my mind. I thought that I would be bad for that one day and then go right back to eating right...
  24. My Own Meals are ready to heat pre-made meals like Lean Cuisine or any of those other frozen meals except they don't have to be frozen or even refrigerated. You can buy them through the Gluten Free Pantry (www.gluten free.com) or through their own site (Open Original Shared Link). Some of them can be bland so I always salt them.
  25. How about stocking up on some snacks like larabars, glutino pretzels, etc? You could also get a few pre-made meals from My Own Meals. They are gluten free and don't need refrigeration. Just heat them up in a microwave. I'd make sure I had some comfort food. Maybe your favorite gluten free cookies? How about a mess kit? Target has one for $26. It has a cup...
