  1. so i went for a bone density scan, my doc was wondering as i have some joint pain, and with the restricted diet and such he was a little concerned, i am below average for bone density. now i did have a hysterectomy a couple of years ago, but i had my ovaries left in, anyone else here have this problem. whats a good brand of calcium supplements that are...
  2. hi, i can totally sympathise, last year i had this on my feet and my hands, i wanted to take the cheese grater to them. i found out it was the soy in my diet, as well i now take a hantihystamine daily, and have special creams, get in to see an allergist again, as well as a skin docter, its probably something you are in injesting, take care!
  3. hi, yup its normal it took me about 3 months to feel good again. as well your body is going through a sort of withdrawl, from the gluten and casien, but no worries stick with it and you will feel better. GOOD LUCK!
  4. i can sympathise, i too was negative by 1 point on my entrolab testing, i do however carry the gene and the dietary changes are incredible. i would phone and talk to the nurse there. im very lucky i have a great GP who considers me celiac, i went to him a very sick rack of bones, he said give it a try and when i feel better go off the gluten-free for a...
  5. hi, you might be having problems with the oats becuase their can be cross contamination. there is a site www.onlyoats.ca this is a farmer from saskatewan who only produces gluten free oats. check out the site, their stuff is awesome. nadine
  6. hi, from what i understand shipping is free in the US and canada if you spend $50.00. im going to try the cookie mix this week. i also made an edible xmas bread with the better batter flour this week im happy to say, my husband accually ate some so that says something! hope everyone had a happy and fun gluten-free xmas, this was my first for the most part...
  7. well this is a product that i thought that i would try, my daughters OT reccomended it as she knows the farmer personally (their in law related some how) its oats that are grown organically, and produced only with each other, there are no other products that they produce only these oats. they have a website. the shipping was 2 days and they taste great...
  8. i find this most interesting because sure enough i woke up this morning and my lips were a little more swollen and soybean oil was in what i ate yesterday. so im going to give a couple of days to get out of my system and then start eating the lectin. it would sure be nice as at least the lectin would open up my food options a little bit.
  9. hmmmm, im finding this interesting as i have been not eating any soy for the last year as it causes me hives and severe facial and throat swelling, well i dedided this week to see about re introducing it and have found that soy lectin does not seem to be a problem, however i had something with soybean oil in it for lunch and im finding that my lower lip has...
  10. hi well im a women so its a bit different for us, but i allways was fairly thin even after my kids, however i got really sick last november (this is when we figured out celiac disease) now im 5ft 5" with a small build, i was at 109lbs and in about 6 weeks i dropped down to 95lbs (ugh i looked like nichole ritchy horrible!) now 10 months later if im carefull...
  11. hi, i know what your going through, i get white allmost looks like rice kernals in my bm's when i eat something i shouldnt.
  12. hi there, i have noticed that everyone on this site is different but i find for myself if i eat gluten that i have the brain fog and headache within 20 min, but i have about a 1.5 day turnaround for the gastrol stuff. D, and pain, and it depends on how much i get, if i get lots then i get more D and if a little thing like the cracker my kid shoved in my...
  13. so i figured it out, i have this insanely expensive bread maker that has a gluten free setting on it. so naomi emailed me back (great customer service by the way!) you can use any recipe that comes with the breadmaker, you just have to double all the wet ingredients. i would probably cut back 1 egg, but then i put it on the gluten-free setting and it was...
  14. yup its www.betterbatter.org i have some in the bread maker right now, apparantly you just double the liquid in the recipes and put it on gluten free setting. smells good so hopefully it will turn out better then yesterday, ugh what a mess that was, my hubby laughed his but off when he saw it, looked like something curled in the bread maker and died!
  15. your doc should have tested you before you eliminated gluten, you can test negative if your not eating it. same with a biopsy can come up negative if you have taken the gluten away from your diet. i hope you have a good doc as the elimination diet is really the best indicator. GOOD LUCK!
  16. ah yes, right after i eat something with gluten i get brain fog and oh sooooo tired and a headache. it accually takes me about a day and a half to get the D that comes with the gluten.
  17. well i got my bag but not sure how to go about using it in a breadmaker, im not interested in doing bread the hard way, anyone use this before? thanks nadine
  18. hey me to i get pretty nasty ones as well, im pretty skinny so i allways thought that was the problem, but who knows?
  19. hi there, my hubbie suffers with PTSD and sees a shrink and takes a very low dose of tryclictic anti depressants. i find that some times he gets into "pitty party" mode and when they get like this i find that they can be very selfish and try and make you feel guilty about what you are doing that week in your life. so fiddle faddle i think that you are on...
  20. i just got the cuisenart bread maker with a specific setting for gluten free bread mixes. it works great!! i also just used bobs red mill raison bread mix and it probably the most normal tasting bread that i have had in a while!! their are lots of recipes online, did your breadmaker come with any i have a couple with mine, i just have to type them in give...
  21. i would say you are pretty borderline, talk with the nurse at entrolab and get her thoughts. their are pretty helpfull there, GOOD LUCK
  22. i agree try educating her first, however, being some one that lives around family members that are not allways the most supportive you may need your hubbies help on this one. if your in your house you have ground rules about what is to be brought in and cooked. she has to respect this as its your house, just like when you go their its tough to tell her...
  23. hi there, my tests were negative as well, by one point, however my gene screening came back that im a DQ8, sooooo i talked to the nurse there and she told me that i probably caught it early a year from now the numbers would probably be higher, so i have been gluten free for 6 months now and feel much better. good luck in your search, i hope you are feeling...
  24. hi, well i ordered a bag so we will see, im willing to try anything, as i have finally realized i am going to have to start baking, i live in the country and dont have great access to bread products and when i do find them they are expensive, so i bought my self a new bread maker and a standup mixer, we shall see.
  25. hi, it may be something else in the chips bugging you, im allergic to soy so i only have a few choices of chips that i can eat as most of them use soybean oil. enterolab can test you for soy, casein etc. GOOD LUCK
