  1. What kind of pan are we talking about? Non-stick, stainless? Does it have any scratches in it? It may just need a good cleaning, I carried over a lot of smooth-surface, non-scratched stuff.
  2. Doesn't happen every time, just 2 or 3 times a year, but when those days fall on workdays I's in trubbles.....
  3. ME first this mornin!!!! I stayed home from work today, not something I normally do. Got my period this morning, and without being too graphic, I'll just say it occasionally has an unfortunate effect on my bowels. I wasn't in the mood for hobbling back and forth to the bathroom all morning. I wish Imodium would work on this particular issue.....
  4. Like, yeah! Off to bed. Didn't mean to make everyone sad!
  5. Good Lord in Heaven!!!! EWWW!!! What kinda wacky store are you shoppin at? I've had weevils in flour I left sitting too long, but my pastas been safe after MANY months on my shelf.
  6. This might sound a tad macabre, but I'm actually a bit jealous of you guys. See, my dad was NOT an awesome guy. Not most of my life. He was angry, rather mean and abusive, and very difficult to live/work with. During the year he was sick, a great deal of that changed, and I got to have a year with my dad as my Daddy, as loving and kind and wonderful...
  7. I can tell you I've left my rice pasta for far longer than a month and not had any 'infestations'. And don't go for the spaghetti too much with rice pasta, it sticks together SO BAD. I like twirls or shapes.
  8. I don't think I'm much help here, I'm a super-taster but haven't met a whole lot of food I didn't like. My 'no's': fungus, beets, shellfish. And raw onion. I literally never met any other food I don't like. Oh, canned lima beans are Godawful, but we grew some in our garden when I was a kid and steamed/buttered they're AMAZING. I'll think more on it!
  9. Hey! I'm alive! Sorry yer down, Scoozle. Hope you cheer soon. Hey everybody! If you's guys wanna meet up, we can do it here in CT too ya know. I work at a hotel where everyone can get 50 bucks a night (employee rate!), rooms with microwave/fridges, and I'll cook somethin and there's lotsa places to eat out around here, there's even a breakfast place...
  10. HAHAHAHAHA!!!! I have a positive story, in regards to my family. My mother lives on the floor below me, we bought a house together. She got so sick of having to be so careful cooking for me, but loves to cook for me so much every so often, that she's pretty much made her kitchen gluten free just so she can cook without worrying. I actually do most of...
  11. It stays together pretty good, not like long spaghetti noodles but certainly not like a mash. I cut in half and bake at 375 til a fork can shred it, then remove the seeds, it's easier than trying to take them out before. You can also cut it up and steam in a big pot, but I don't really like the texture of it that way. I like to brown ground beef and onion...
  12. I'm currently eating 'spaghetti' which is spaghetti squash baked and mixed with browned ground beef n onions n garlic, I'm avoiding tomato right now. Spaghetti squash works good without sauce because it won't dry up like rice pasta does. I like it best with ground beef, my mum likes it best with bulk chicken sausage mixed in.
  13. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! "Fergit the bread n milk, head to the liquor store baby!!!"
  14. K, two things. One, I think all that's necessary to send to the Taliban is Celiac and poison sumac. If we send them girly problems, we send them girly parts, which means they'd be HAPPY. Course, then maybe they'd spend all their time doing that and leave us alone.... Two, I really sympathize for you Mimms. I know how tough it is to deal with difficult...
  15. Miss Em, I tried to send you a PM but you have it disabled. Would you be willing to Pm me with your email address, or just Pm me? There are some things I'd like to share with you!
  16. It is NOT a one- for -one replacement, as I'm sure you're aware. I'm going to try it with honey, and add some flour, I'll let you know how it goes.... Maybe a bit of pectin, to make up for the sugar 'jelling' properties.
  17. Try agave nectar instead! Not bad or scary at all. Or Stevia. You can't find none, I mail it to you!
  18. Think that orange cake recipe would work with honey instead of sugar?
  19. Pseuzzle! Why don't you just get one a them storm doors that has glass that slides up n down? You can leave the glass down the bottom and yer KitKat's safe and you still get breezes.
  20. Hey, he did throw out the toaster. Baby steps.
  21. ........ ........... .................
  22. The cocoa powder in Pamela's chocolate foods and mixes is processed with alkali. I promise, we'd have heard about it if Pamela's was making people sick. Your Celiac waiter needs some education.
  23. I was going to suggest the pre-packed meal thing. If you chop all your veggies ahead of time, you won't need your cutting board or knife, and you can package in containers instead of having them loose. Stock up on bananas and apples, or fruit you can just wash and eat or peel and eat. Pack meats cooked a few different ways in dinner & lunch sized packages...
  24. I recently got hit with a real nasty case of poison sumac, so I have some advice. Try bathing in hot water, so hot you can barely stand it, every time the itch starts to get out of control. IT makes your skin dump it's histamines, so it will itch fiercely while you're doing it, but you'll have a few hours of relief. When you're first exposed to the oil...
