  1. I never had a lot of the digestive symptoms associated with celiac. However, during the times I was dealing with intestional problems, I found that I would sometimes get "runner's diarrhea" triggered by an intense or long run. I also lift weights regularly, swim, and do the other cardio machines in the gym but none of those activities has ever caused...
  2. I just looked at their website, brownbagging.com. It looks like they also have tv commercials where they mention no gluten. They are on the website. Way to go!
  3. Most of us on this forum know that Boar's Head brand products are gluten free. I have heard two radio commercials this week where they indicate the products are gluten free! That is a first. I just think that is wonderful and wish more companies would do the same. I am going to write them a note to say thank you.
  4. I use the same recipe as Fiddle Faddle except I just use regular milk. My whole family likes it.
  5. I don't know anything about the DC group, can you fill me in? I also think Roots has a great gluten-free selection. I just love how they have everything together in one place, makes it so easy. I'm lucky; it is right on my route from home to work. Have you ever eaten at the cafe? I haven't tried it. I know Sweet Sins has some things that are dairy...
  6. Cold Stone has a list of allergens on their website which actually includes gluten. I think they only have 3 flavor bases that have gluten in them. you just have to be familiar with what you add to it.
  7. I tried Lilit Cafe on Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda yesterday and it was great! It is really like a counter service deli that sells beer and wine as well. They have a small seating area with a plasma tv. They have about six different gluten-free sandwiches on their menu. I had a steak & cheese (which I thought I'd never have again) made on Sweet...
  8. Earlier this year I went to Ruby Tuesday's to have the salad bar. I forgot my bottle of dressing so I asked the waitress if she could help me out. She brought out a bottle of balsamic vinegar (can't remember the brand). When I reviewed the ingredients, I definitely remember there being something with gluten in it. I was shocked. I can't remember now...
  9. I'll probably keep thinking of lots of questions for you. They usually have yogurt at breakfast and maybe lunch. Do you know what brand it is or whether it is gluten-free? Tx Did you take your own salad dressing or were they knowledgeable about which ones were gluten-free? Jackie
  10. Congratulations on your marriage. I am glad you had a successful gluten-free honeymoon. We are sailing on Royal Caribbean on August 5. I am wondering what you ate for breakfast? Did you go to the Windjammer? Do you know if the burgers and fries in the Windjammer are gluten-free? Any other helpful hints? Thanks Jackie
  11. I too have been fighting this problem. I am an athlete and have always been lean and muscular. I became gluten freen in February and can hardly fit into clothes that I have worn for years. I miss seeing any definition in my muscles. It is so frustrating! Lately I have been trying to eat very few refined/processed foods. I'm trying to rely on fresh...
  12. Thanks! I thought about making a separate crust and making it crustless. Making it the regular way sounds best of all. I can't wait!
  13. I am craving an impossible cheeseburger pie which includes 1/2 c of bisquick and basically makes its own crust, if you haven't had it. I have some Pamela's baking mix and was wondering if anyone has suggestions on the best way to substitute it. Thanks!
  14. Thanks for the info. We go skiing up there every winter and I can't wait to try it!
  15. My son loves the Florida's Natural fruit snacks (OK, me too). They all have a high percentage of fruit/fruit juice in them. We especially love the sour strings. These snacks actually say gluten free on the package and I made sure to write them and thank them for it. The only place I have found them so far is Target. Their website is located at ausomesnacknaturally...
  16. Does Noodles & Co actually have a gluten free menu? I couldn't find it. This is a great idea for a thread. Add to it Chick Fil A
  17. Thanks for the info on Berry Good Treats. We are headed to OC when school gets out and will definitely make the ride up to Bethany to give it a try! Is it the type of place you could have a meal or mostly just an ice cream shop?
  18. Iknow the salad bar is dooable. Has anyone inquired about the burgers or had them? We're going to the one in Rockville, Maryland tonight and I'm wondering if it can be a burger night for me too! Thanks.
  19. I don't think many people would believe me on this, but I am a total oatmeal freak. They are actually one of the things I miss the very most!
  20. Yum, sounds like something I have to add to my next shopping list for Whole Foods. Does it actually say Greek Yogurt on the label? Besides Fage, are there any other brands? Thanks.
  21. So the mix is gluten free. It was my understanding that the Hidden Valley Ranch dressings in the bottle are not. Am I correct?
  22. You talk about being afraid to "swallow the camera pill". Is that for a small bowel study? My doctor said that can be done with the camera or in a radiology department. You drink barium and then they take x-rays every 10 minutes or so to see your small intestines. Then when it is all the way through, the doctor comes in and pushes around on your intestines...
  23. We are sailing on the Freedom of the Seas on August 5. I'm already starting to get excited!
  24. We are doing a RCCL cruise in August and this will be my first gluten free. From what I have read here as well as the message boards on Cruise Critic/RCCL, it sounds like they do a great job. When you sign up for your cruise, there is actually a question they ask regarding dietary restrictions and gluten free is one of the options. There is also an e...
  25. I was going to make this today. It looks like you don't have to let the dough sit and rise awhile? Just mix and bake? Thanks.
