  1. They are listed here as gluten free with this warning *The above products do not contain gluten; however, they are produced on the same line as our products that do contain gluten. Although the lines are washed between batches, a slight residue may remain on the lines. Individuals who are extremely sensitive may be affected. Open Original Shared Link However...
  2. Check for gluten in everything, like toothpaste, shampoo, suncreen, make-up, ect Here are some good lists https://www.celiac.com/st_main.html?p_catid...-11105003216.b7 I noticed problems with dairy before I was diagnosed. I just get very gastro-intestinal "sick" when I have anything with dairy in it. I have to avoid dairy just like gluten or...
  3. I'm glad it went well... when do you hear about your results?
  4. You could use these for soft taco's. They are very easy and fast to make and yummy! Bean Flour Tortillas These are great and can be frozen, I would suggest doubling it 1/3 cup light bean flour 1/2 cup cornstarch 2 tablespoons tapioca flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 eggs or 3 egg whites 1 1/2 cups water oil for brushing the pan or skillet Mix everything...
  5. If eating gluten causes you that much pain, then it probably isn't worth putting yourself through tourture just to get tests done. I don't think 1 week would be long enough for the antibody levels to drop too much, but I'm no doctor so maybe it is. I think you definately have issues with gluten though based on your symptoms.
  6. Welcome, How long were you on the diet before you got the blood test done? Sometimes being on the diet can give false negative results. Personally, I think that you may have a wheat allergy, gluten intolerance, or possibly celiac disease. You can get blood tests and skin prick tests for wheat allergy. Also, you can get the celiac gene test to see if you...
  7. Yes! We love to meet new people, you don't have to have celiac to post here! Was this bloodwork for celiac? If so can you remember which tests you had? It seems like you have trouble absorbing certain vitamins so it is possible that you may have celiac disease. I think that you definatley have gluten intolerance due to the results of enterolab. After...
  8. WOW! That is priceless That statement would be in the Celiac Hall of Fame if there was one.
  9. Yea... it's usually not worth arguing with people about stuff like that, there's not much you can do to change people's minds sometimes. Even when there is evidence that you are right. Oh well that's life
  10. The tissue transglutamase test is highly specific for celiac disease.
  11. Where does she get her info? Unless she can back up her statements with scientific proof ie. scientific journal articles or credible websites... then I wouldn't believe her statements. Here are a few good articles that say that celiac is genetic: Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  12. Boost nutritional drink has a fiber orientated supplement. I believe that all boost are gluten-free except chocolate malt.
  13. Many people go about it different ways. Some people get the blood tests, others biopsy, some do the dietary challenge, and many do a combination or all of the different tests. You can also test to see if you have the celiac gene. It's best to decide with your doctor what is the best route for you. I personally, had one positive blood test (tissue transglutamase...
  14. Interesting... Maybe in LA LA land they do
  15. Like the others said, being wheat free before the blood test may have resulted in false negative results. Even a person with celiac disease will get a negative result on those tests after being gluten free for a while. I guess the important question here is, Were you eating lots of barely, rye, or oats? If you were, than you were still getting gluten into...
  16. I used to have plugged sinuses almost all the time before I went gluten free. Now that I am gluten-free, I've noticed a major difference, I can breath clear most of the time, unless I'm around dogs and cats or dust I am almost postive I have read that sinus trouble is a symptom of celiac disease. *I have read that milk can also cause sinus problems...
  17. I say thank you all the time! I actually appreciate thank you's becasue then I know that the person cared about my response and I feel like I made a difference and helped someone
  18. I understand, you don't want to make a fuss for a job interview and don't want to be singled out. If I were in this situation I would eat before I went... when I got there I would secretly scan the available foods... if there was a veggie tray or fruit tray or a safe salad I would go for it. Otherwise, I would just grab a coke and say, "oh I'm not really...
  19. I saw in one post that someone was 7... I had to look at it twice. Maybe it was a typo. I think it was in the recent thread where someone asked for help with a survey for medical school or something
  20. I also cook my own fries at home. I got nasty reactions from MacDonalds fries every time I eat them and they were cooked in a separate fryer. Go figure
  21. Blow some of that warm weather this way! I'll take it I also find that exercising helps
  22. I would ask your doctor for a lactose intolerance or casien intolerance test. A lot of people have problems with milk, I personally get very bad reactions from it. I don't think the gluten-free diet would hurt you... your body is obviously upset at something... maybe you are still healing, maybe you have other intolerances, maybe you have a virus or bacterial...
  23. Some suggestions: French fries, watermelon, Lays Stax (don't get these if he is lactose/dairy intolerant), tuna salad sandwiches, peanut butter sandwiches (toast the gluten-free bread first), cookies, brownies... All gluten free of course
