  2. Hiya! at least you found the answer and that he has grown and thrived on the diet! Did you make your whole house gluten free? if not how do you keep him from putting stuff in his mouth?!
  3. i feel bad for you, its awful seeing your baby throw up... my ped told me, (my son had a similar story) that i should keep him off gluten till he is one. have you tried giving him rice cereal? or cornflour cereal? mine takes the rice not the corn flour, and both are actually gluten free. try him on that and see if maybe the whole 'cereal' is too heavy...
  4. my DD was gluten addict before we found out she was celiac - and i mean that!!! she absolutely refused point blank to touch anything that looked like it could be healthy (must be her father's genes!!) Since she has been off gluten, around 6 months, she asks now for raisins or craisins for a 'treat'!! (Long may it last!!) seriously, i have just been in...
  5. hello, somehow couldn't get on the site for a few days, dunno why!! i tried to get my son to start nursing from me, but he had no idea what i was on about, i guess i'll just have to give up on that idea... but, on a happier note, it seems to me that he is gaining, even if only slowly, but at least his appetite seems to be going up!! i think i am gonna...

  7. Thanks all for your support!! Now that we've been home for a weekend, and i have (kinda!) gotten over the trauma of hte hospital, things seem to be getting into some type of routine... not that he's eating that muchin the way of variety!! he likes babyjars, so i mix it with babyrice, and a little bit of formula, and he has that for breakfast and for supper...
  8. we are finally home from hospital, after 2 and 1/2 weeks, plus 2 weeks in another hospital! phew!! BUT they still have no idea what is the matter. they are basically saying that if your child doesn't want to eat its my fault and problem!! the problem is that i have no idea what to give a 10 month old to eat - he is on a gluten, dairy, soya and egg free...

  10. a little bit of backround... my 2 and 1/2 year old is a celiac and is doing absolutely great on the diet and knows, so far, what she should and shouldn't be eating... now for the FUN!! my now 10 month old(this happened a month ago) was admitted to hospital for severe dehydration and they realised that he was malnourished... they forced me to stop nursing...

My daughter (2) has been on the diet now a few weeks, and she is so much happier! she doesn't miss all her favorite stuff, although at hte beginning , we tried to give her a match for what we are eating. now already, at her daycare, she understands, and she doesn't even try! she...

  19. my two year old was just diagnosed as a celiac 2 months ago, and while in the hospital for her biopsy, i asked the gi when i should introduce my (then) 4 month ols son to gluten. he told me that current research says that keeping your child off gluten will lessen their chances of them having it, as in, with me nursing my baby for as long as possible it can...
