  1. Carla, not sure if this might be an idea? I take this and it has been quite helpful. Open Original Shared Link
  2. I disagree a little bit with this. Enterolab does do a fecal ttg--which is more specific, but still they don't claim to be diagnostic. They also do a malabsorption test, again not specific, but only suggestive for celiac. They also do the genes, which would give you more information. I agree with Rachel, get the total IgA! If that is low, then you...
  3. Maybe when the detox passes you will be hungrier again and can increase your amounts. If you think you are eating the same amounts of things this is really curious although I suppose it is inflammation related. What about adding a couple more snacks to your day for now? Do you think part of the detox might be an upset of your intestine with decreased...
  4. Rachel, that was my thought. If E is there I'd think borrellia is likely? Erlich. is supposed to be easier to treat April. But--I have to tell you that I tested positive in 2000 and have been treating all this time, and was still positive by ART last winter when she said it was clogging up my lymph system. Treatment has helped with the bug showing up...
  5. I wonder if the weight will re-balance after you get through the detox. Maybe you'll need some of the agave fudge.
  6. Sorry you are still feeling poorly, do you think it is lighter yet? Hope Adam doesn't get worse before better. Interesting that all this was realized so long ago but it is not a common understanding. How long does he say the healing crisis will last? I am hopeful that I am going to pull out of this and that it is a sign that the Enula is effective...
  7. welcome!
  8. Hi, and glad you found us. Just a note hope not a discouraging one. 2 months gluten-free is very much enough to impact both your blood tests and biopsy and it might take weeks or months back on gluten to have positive. Then again, you could still be positive, but not so likely from the colon. Hope your doctor knows enough about celiac to know that!...
  9. From what I understand about your testing, this was for food intolerance or delayed food reactions. This could be more of an acquired type of sensitivity, and can be worsened by more frequent exposure to the food. How often you can be exposed without symptom, and how severe your symptoms are all very individual. This is not at all the same as celiac...
  10. Hey, I am actually feeling better today, so maybe I've herxed on the Enula??? Hope so, I was dreading the daily pain for two weeks. Sherry
  11. Molly Beth, Welcome to this site. Yes, it is all quite overwhelming, and we have all been there. Stay on your regular diet until after the biopsy, for sure. Once you are finished with the biopsy, and even before you get your results, it is fine to start the diet as a trial. In the beginning, my advice is to just try going gluten free, plus avoid...
  12. Ha Ha, I know what you mean! Hate to pay that kind of shipping.
  13. Maybe call around for the duck eggs. My allergist was a great resource for where to get stuff. Maybe even google it??
  14. I would use a big pot with a lid, not cover with a cloth instead. Wrap a big towel around the whole thing helps too. Then I'd use the pot like a water bath, and if the heating pad is on the bottom, not put your yogurt directly on the bottom of the pan, but on a little rack or something so it isn't directy connected to the hottest part. The water bath keeps...
  15. April, I had the spectracell more than once. My LLMD told me this summer that the lab changed their way of doing these last spring. Since then, many more have come through with normal results, even those on kids that he KNOWS have problems. So he is not happy with the change. And it will take awhile to build up a base of cases on which to judge the results...
  16. Also, you might experiment with dairy free. The damage to the intestinal villi impacts production of carb digestion enzymes, in particular lactase. So milk is often a problem initially. From there, if you don't improve, you might consider other carbs (check out the SCD for an approach to that), other food intolerances because many of us are prone to them...
  17. BTW I make my "muffins" in a pan and cut them up. Faster and easier cleanup.
  18. I like everydayminerals too, and I often mix the colors by putting a mineral color on first then the lip gloss.
  19. You might take a look at the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, because other than the egg, all the other intolerances are taken into account. Especially on the site www.pecanbread.com where it is mostly kids and many are casein sensitive. Lots of recipes plus ideas for someone who is very sensitive. SCD is gluten free, but stricter to help heal the gut issues...
  20. That might be, I am not really sure. Before he shifted his practice over to mostly kids, he had a chronic illness practice and saw a huge variety of people that were just not getting well with conventional approaches. Even cancer patients. Sherry
  21. Well, also I don't have a clothes dryer, no dishwasher, and we can't buy anything prepared, including juice, sauces, nut flour, gluten-free flour, etc. I do have an oven thankfully, and two burners to cook on. The house gets dirty faster too, due to pollution although it is much better here than in other cities. So there is a lot more work to do just to...
  22. Rachel, my LLMD is a DAN doctor as well and treats lots of kids. Just a comment, because I just had my Sam/SAH this summer. My LLMD said these are almost always normal in adults. Sure hope he can figure out with the block is! Sherry
  23. Carla, I get it on the diet; my impression is you eat pretty healthily, and it hasn't seemed like a major part of your healing more recently to avoid stuff. Rachel, the forms seem unending at times. Glad things are on track now though. Sherry
  24. Oh yeah. It is the best! I couldn't keep up my work without it out here.
  25. You certainly may have found the answer, unfortunately the tests are not all we would wish they would be. A positive blood test is pretty conclusive, but a negative one is not. Its good to get a biopsy, if this is positive its is a gold standard. If the tests are negative, I'd highly recommend a dietary trial. There are many on this forum who did not...
