  1. Ah Donna, not a problem, LOL! You can hang in on a doorknob near the bathroom since you live alone, no worries! Hang it on a towel rack, a coat hanger attached to a door, or a string attached to something higher. My hubby carries a cord when we travel, for a clothesline or whatever he needs. He fixes it so I can hang my bed in a hotel room....there are...
  2. Yep, 30 min to an hour. I usually split the coffee into two times, and hold. Seems like the second time helps because the first time clears things somewhat. Sherry
  3. Yep, every day. It's my detox lifeline. After the natural bm in the morning... Sherry
  4. Donna I am thrilled things are moving foward and watching for your updates. Carla, that's great you are feeling better again. Sure convinces us that we are infected when we respond like this to abx, right? Kassandra, I am still hoping for info on iron...., glad you are feeling better. Birdy, hope your cold is better soon. Rachel, hope these IVs...
  5. Nora, I am sorry you are dealing with so much ignorance in the professional community that should be helping you. I appreciate you and others who are posting on this topic. What about one of the other labs in the US that tests on both parts of the gene? Re the shipping, do you have a friend who travels back and forth to the USA? I am outside of...
  6. Kassandra, I notice improvement on my B12 and Meyer's B shot day. Now I am cutting back slightly on the dosages because I seem to get keyed up and wanted to see if that was the reason. Not sure still, if so, it is not hitting until several hours after the shots. I suspect that something I am taking or eating is behind this being hit by tension at...
  7. I'm reading along but too busy to reply too much. New development is that my hubby left this morning with one of our visitors who just arrived (counselor) to go to the disaster site for several days. He'll be able to assess if I am needed and whether the situation will be okay for me to go. Yay! I feel better about this. Also that we can offer more...
  8. A quick note, sorry to hear some of you are feeling really bad, and hope there is relief soon. Donna, sure hope you do okay on the new meds. Carla, glad you have a break from the herx. Glad to NOT be in the heat!! LOL! Carla, yes, you have raised issues that I have been wrestling with. I am probably going to go down to the site, maybe for a short time...

  10. Kassandra, this is what I understand from my allergist: It depends on your level of reactivity to the food. A food stays in your system normally for about 4 days. Some foods the intolerance is managed or non-reactive if you only eat it every 4 days. But a food can take any length of time longer than that. So my thought would be that if you are off...
  11. tipnpat, I'm curious where you found the information that the B1 0201 allele means 2.5. My impression is that the 5 part of this refers to the alpha allele and what it is specifically; since Enterolab hasn't tested this, how do I know if I am 2.5 or some other combination of 2? But I admit I am still confused. I *think* I am in the highest risk category...
  12. This is fascinating and confusing. I think that my understanding of all this is that the 2,2 versus 2.2 have different meanings. We have two genes and each has two alleles, so there are four different combinations possible. What I understand is that Enterolab only tests the beta, or second half. So you notice that all of our results say B1... So...
  13. Nora, I think I figured out the issue with my gene type. I read that Enterolab's gene testing is done by a lab that doesn't test the alpha allele only the beta alleles, so actually I don' t know if I am 2.2 or 2.5 or some combo of both. At least that is the sense I am making of this whole picture and fits in with your post on the other thread, I think....
  14. Kassandra, could you try DGL (licorice powder) for the stomach? It sure helps me, but I don't know if it is on the list or not with your diet. So sorry for all you are going through.
  15. I notice according to Enterolab (rechecking my results on the site) they say I am DQ 2,2. So now I am confused! Sherry
  16. Jin, so good to have your update. Yes, I am fine although I am a bit keyed up as this has triggered memories for me of the bad quake I was in 9/99. I have been asked to go help in the area; a friend of mine is a doctor in Chengdu and is working closely with the Red Cross. Of course I want to help, but have to figure out if I can handle it physically...
  17. Nora I really appreciate that you pointed that out about the DQ2. It took me awhile but I figured it out, of course I already knew I was in the highest risk group possible! Sherry
  18. Kassandra, I have had that leg pain thing, for awhile then it is totally gone. I think it is a lyme symptom because it seldom happens anymore. I am sorry about the school struggles. As I look back on many many years of chronic illness, I think one positive thing that I have learned is persistence. Not that I mean you have to do everything when you...
  19. Thanks, I need to understand what that means now! Sherry
  20. Count me in as another one with chemical sensitivities. I have found that it has been worse at some times in my life. Also there are certain things that will really hit me hard and I have had some scary reactions. One of the worst for me is the mosquito coils commonly used here in Asia. In terms of the connection with celiac, part of it may be the autoimmune...
  21. My understanding is that your Enterolab results are all negative, and your gene type isn't the most common ones associated with celiac. There are some DQ1 folk here on this forum who have gluten sensitivity (and some diagnosed celiac) and get better on the diet. My impression is they tend to have more neurological symptoms than others do. So the depression...
  22. Yes, very. I was in a 7.3 in '99 and it was a horrible experience. This is much worse. I have friends there, they are currently out working on a 36 hour shift. (he's a vet, she's a nurse). It is bringing back a lot of memories for me of what we went through in '99. I see the death toll has topped 12,000; the school children who were buried alive...
  23. No I haven't had this problem, but I don't take mine in the evening. Although, this could be why I have had trouble sleeping just lately, as I have gotten lax on my schedule and ended up taking some in the evening. I take mine between meals: between breakfast and lunch, and lunch and dinner on an empty stomach. Sherry
  24. Welcome Moonstone. You are in the right place. I don't know about the K...haven't tried that. Sherry
  25. Yes, I have that. Dr. E had me doing laser on it, but I haven't since I got back to China. Need to remember to do that. Sherry
