  1. Not sure about buying flour blends, but for potato starch and tapioca starch I'd check the Chinese market and see about ordering in larger quantities. It is so cheap there.
  2. I've lived on this website--its been my best friend!! I ditto what everyone else has said, though I add the comment that it takes 1-2 years for the adult intestine to heal though many feel quite well much sooner than that. Be prepared for a real learning curve, and recognize that you are entering a major life transition so it will be hard and will take...
  3. Sorry for the weird font...it's fixed now. I had my browser set to type Chinese and it wouldn't switch out of that mode. I could type in English by toggling to that, but the font was totally weird. Had to close and restart... Headed to bed...I'm too sick to stay up. I'm bummed. Everytime I think I am turning a corner--whammo. Sherry
  4. GFCFSF has helped me a lot too. I am actually tolerating small amounts of dairy now and still having daily BM; I can't ever remember being this regular before. The lyme may be playing a role for me but I treated lyme for 6.5 years and had no change in the bowel stuff until the GF diet. I am quite sure that I am celiac at this point so probably altho...
  5. I don't know, could be. Yesterday was pretty good, and this morning I felt quite good until I ate lunch, and then about 30 minutes after that I crashed a lot, not okay yet. I ate lima bean soup, only things in it were lamb, onion, salt and pepper. Ihave been eating this fine on occasion if I don't overdo so I don't know why such a strong reaction today. ...
  6. I agree, that error margin shouldn't be. But I know that is the case, maybe they just don't tell us that often. The Western Blot test for lyme is one example. 30% error is the best that is out there, and most labs are 50-6 0% error. But it is interesting that people get a negative test and the doctor without blinking says, you don't have lyme. That's...
  7. You might search the forum for posts on insomnia or sleep issue because there is a lot of good information here about what worked for various people. I tried melatonin, 5HTP, trypophan, cortisol (adrenal treatment), hormones, and finally Ambien which worked. However, more recently I started a supplement called Travacor, which is a neurotransmitter support...
  8. You've had some good advice here and the only thing I would add is that another source of gluten is in the marinade or spices used to cook the meat, especially the SW chicken comes to mind. My guess is that you had several sources of contamination. It is very hard to make the adjustment for travel and social events. Idon't know anything to sugges...
  9. I'd wonder if you were adequately gluten free, since you were not highly symptomatic. I'm not suggesting you were not careful, it is just extremely hard to avoid gluten and maybe you don't know when you are exposed. If you were adequately gluten free, a challenge might provoke strong symptoms and then you would know. I still would ask for a copy o...
  10. Kassandra, this sounds good, hope she works out really well. Sherry
  11. Nikki, I am really having trouble digesting and absorbing. Right now I am taking a prescription pancreatic enzyme mixture called Pangestyme UL20. You could google that to get the ingredients, it helps with the protein for sure. I take 2 at every meal. Then I take two other things that are OTC. One is called Digest Plus, by Professional Formulas...
  12. Thanks. Can't wait to get the R/O water filter working to see if that helps too. Rachel, the scientificness is going over my head for now...but trying to at least recall that the info is here. Lots of fatigue for me lately too, but better yesterday and today. I wrote Dr. E after I read on the forum here that herbal tinctures often use grain...
  13. Someone just mentioned they were staring Nattokinase--sorry, I forgot who? I just wanted to update you because I started this in mid-February. The ART testing showed I would benefit and had the fibrin problem common with lyme with poor lyme flow and the erlichia was plugging the lymph too. I take the Nattokinase for the fibrin issue (and maybe something...
  14. My used copy bought online was cheap, it's an older book and very small. Published in '95 Sherry
  15. I am really amazed at how well the Travacor (neurotransmitter support) is helping me sleep. Night 4 last night post time zone change, and I slept 6 hours with ambien until 5 am. That hasn't happened in several years usually it takes me 9-10 days on Ambien every night to switch. I think the Natural Calm (an easily absorbed magnesium) is also helping. ...
  16. Celia, you didn't mention how your gluten-free diet was going--did you fall off the wagon so to speak, or is it possible you got some inadvertent exposure to gluten? Any changes lately like new medication that you haven't checked? So sorry you are going through this awful experience. How long have you been gluten-free? Some people here develop other...
  17. My DH who has a lot of GERD, had a lot of discomfort and heartburn while on the humaworm. He made it through the course and didn't notice anything else. I did my first ART testing right after finishing my course of humaworm. She found I was very clear of any parasites, intestinal bacteria, candida. A couple of month later, I had more of this again....
  18. I agree. I think most of us think we are communicating thoroughly but in reality, we are not. It is worth taking the time to explain clearly but without being defensive or attacking. Maybe say something like, "I notice that sometimes you say this or that, and I get the impression that you may think I am not taking this diagnosis seriously. I want to...
  19. I am getting increasingly clear symptoms with accidental exposure to gluten; I am very very careful but it still happens on occasion from CC or poorly labeled items. My symptoms include fatigue, brain fog and this can be overwhelming. Now I get abdominal cramping, a bit of pain and discomfort, and some D. The first couple of times I was glutened, symptoms...
  20. I think I would request a copy of your records of the endoscopy results from '02 as well as the notes of the doctor. If there was a positive biopsy at that time, I would very much hesitate to go off the gluten-free diet. Celiac can be sub-clinical but cause so many auto-immune issues. Once you have it, it never goes away. If you were told to go gluten...
  21. Not sure but a good thing to research. Did you search in the "related disorders" section of this forum?
  22. Simplygf, maybe SH is different but up here we are blocked from reading any blogs at all, so I can't get into your site.
  23. Is there a celiac support group in your area? That might be a big help.
  24. Yes, you could have another sensitivity that has developed, many people here have had that happen. I agree about the dairy. Soy is another frequent one. Beyond that, you may need to do an elimination diet to figure out what is going on. Search the forum here for info, but realize that a food sensitivity can be to anything and cause any symptom and varies...
  25. I've just been reading about autism spectrum disorder (asperger's is in that spectrum) and lyme disease. There's some real similarities in your story and what I just read on this website. Open Original Shared Link There's a pdf article on that site as well about "bell's palsy of the gut" which talks about how lyme in the gut can mimic celiac disease...
