On this forum it seems like some people develop sensitivities after going gluten-free. Perhaps this is because the immune system starts to work better. Anyway it seems to happen to some. I'd try avoiding soy, and then retrying it. The soy protein is somewhat similar to gluten, and many of us do have trouble with it. It might be that you can handle...

ARCHIVED Buying Flours At Asian Food Market
mftnchn replied to celiac-mommy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi, probably you'll just have to experiment. I bought some potato starch and tapioca starch at the Asian market that is on about 52nd and Powell in PDX. 60 cents a bag or something like that. The thing about these is that cc may be lowered due to a few factors. The volume produced in Asia may mean dedicated machinery though not designed for our benefit... -

ARCHIVED Everyday Minerals - Great gluten-free Mineral Make-up!

Been too busy to read and post...but just thought I'd let you know I finally realized that I needed to try cool-fair foundation. After all the other light shades! This is much better for me, although there are several I can wear. I think if I get the original glo it will help with the lines. I goofed in my sample kit and ordered two semi-matte instead... -

I'm suspicious that the dairy isn't agreeing with me either since I went back on it. I'm going to see if ART picks it up as problematic this week. I was feeling pretty good but not the latter part of this week. Passing undigested food again, plus more pain and fatigue. Also I had a Meyer's mixture IV (B's) and magnesium as well after my doctor appointment... -
ARCHIVED ? About Diagnosis And Where Do I Go From Here
mftnchn replied to tired47's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yes, I agree with the above poster. I actually got worse after going Gluten-free Casein-free, although there were signs of improvment they were temporary. It has taken a long time, but I am now sure of the diagnosis. -
ARCHIVED Is There A Typical Range Of Extent/duration Of Recurrence Symptoms?
mftnchn replied to ellen123's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
There seems to be quite a range of symptoms, onset and duration, severity, and degree of sensitivity on this board. I am very strict for the most part. I had one known gluten exposure and one suspected one in the last several months. The onset of symptoms was about 2 days later and lasted several days. Both exposures were small amounts, and the symptoms... -

Hey, everyone. A quick hi, I just caught up reading. Life is pretty crazy right now. I am putting everything together for my last appointment with Dr. E next week, and sorting through and ordering meds and supplements. Birdy, just one idea--maybe test for the h pylori via ART or something? I take mastica for that, and right now a low dosage is enough... -
This has certainly been my experience. I was overweight, struggled to take it off and it would always come back unless I follow a strict low carb regimen. After going gluten free (also milk free and later soy free), the weight came off even when eating gluten-free replacements foods. Not really fast, but in significant amounts--about 30 lbs over the last...

I don't have a lot of answers but I can tell you that checking my absorption and levels I had Doctor's Data heavy metals, essential elements and amino acids. I had Spectrcell check lymphocyte levels of vitamins, minerals. I had a blood test for Vitamin D as well. The doctor is also checking stool for absorption, fat was checked through Enterolab, He is... -

Update from my LLMD appointment: Basically my sense about the low levels on the testing is correct. The really good news, which was greatly pleasing to my doc, was that the tyrosine level was good. This is a measure of inflammation and damage, and it means that we are doing something right. The other good news is that the heavy metals really don't look... -

Nyxie, yea for some answers and a start to treatment. Wow, there are so many of us here with lyme. Does anybody know something about Vitamin D? I just got a note from my allergist about my levels just recently done. He says they should be 60-70, and a minimum of 50. My level is 16 Marshall thinks the low level is a response to disease and... -

Hey, Donna. I think the neurotransmitter support is really helping my sleep; if not that, then one of the other new things I am taking. It's been great the last few nights. Does that help you too? Sherry -

Hmmm, sorry I am not familiar with the NES. Maybe someone else can help. I think most people here who have done ART have then have it confirmed through lab tests. Sherry -

Waiting for all the details about Kassandra's visit! Hmm, getting back to China where I can afford another massage is sounding pretty good.... Big week for me too...I see my LLMD on Wednesday to review all the tests and make some decisions. Gotta pull all the info together so I am well prepared for my visit. Sherry -

Lori, I would wonder whether it might be valuable to first screen for heavy metal toxicity. Secondly, look for the ART practitioner to see if there is someone in your area--to see what areas of your body are stressed and what stresses your body. My concern is that after all of the testing with Dr. Mercola you would have spent so much and then are still... -

Same here, Donna and Birdy. Lori, I am not sure what to say, but Andrea might have an idea. She is still waiting to do dental work I think, right Andrea? I think she is still taking KingChlorella to help with the mercury. Seems like testing for the mercury to figure out what you are dealing with, then maybe start with supporting your body's own... -

Thanks for the well-wishes; its nice having our kids do something for us like this. Julie, I am where you are with the exercise. I struggle with it. Once I feel a little better I just want to go about my day and get at my work. Just doing the daily routine is about what I can handle. I am noticing now that though I am feeling better, late in the... -

Wow, thanks for the specific info! My LLMD said these folks paid like $5 a session for the treatment, but probably that was an exaggeration. I am going to see what I can find out about it. That schedule would be rough to follow though, unless I just take 6 weeks to 3 months and stay in one place! Now wouldn't that be novel??? Sherry -

Thanks Carla. I think we've been given a gift of doing this work, and many times have been blessed so that it does not seem like a sacrifice. When I remember that, I know that it will all work out okay. I think you are right though, when it is time to come home, we'll know it. Sherry -

Lori, you'll need to get it from an MD or someone who can give an IV medication probably. At least when I do the provoked urine, they give me an IV DMPS to "push" out the metals, then I collect for 6 hours afterward. They give me a collection kit and then I send it in by Fed Ex or whatever it says. -

Got a busy weekend ahead. Our kids have planned an anniversary celebration for us on Sunday. It was going to be a surprise but that proved to difficult to plan. I'll likely have my son and family here for the weekend again too. Also busy trying to help my daughter with wedding planning, as much as she is ready for and we can sandwich in before I leave... -

Quick update. I'm dealing with a lot of stress just from multiple demands. Meanwhile some further progress on testing and treatment: Feeling a bit better, with a little bit of herx symptoms here and there. Hello, everyone. Trying to keep up reading along to some degree, I've just had too much going on to post. Welcome Lori. You've gotten some good advice here. Just a couple of things to add: It will not really be possible to chelate effectively as long as you have dental amalgams. So I'd probably look at a plan to begin removing and replacing those... -
There was a french bread recipe posted recently on this forum. I really liked this for hamburger buns. I have a bun pan, and also I tried making rings out of parchment paper and stapled them. It was a little hard to get the dough in and keep it round, but spreading it with a knife I was able to do that. I liked the taste and texture of these.
