  1. Carla, hope your symptoms are better soon. I can understand your concern about keeping on top of the lyme--after my 8 year battle following diagnosis, I am pretty weary of the ups and downs of it all. I have some goals to put in place after my transition is over and things start to settle. I am really hopeful that stability will follow. BTW, the last...
  2. Just caught up reading, welcome to the new posters. I haven't anything else to add at this point. I am still overwhelmed with details getting ready to move again. Rachel, I appreciated your post about your appointment, and the emphasis on needing to do your own research. Armed with what I know now, I hope to make some headway in understanding over the...
  3. The quote you had mentioned supplementing with cysteine, Taurine, MSM. I can't get the quote to copy. I am confused because my response is mixed. I am tolerating the taurine and MSM fine, and taking both. I am going to try the epsom salts, and got the idea from one of your posts that I could use a sponge to apply it since I don't have a bathtub at my...
  4. I used it too. I didn't see anything startling while on it, but had seen part of a tapeworm and a roundworm just prior when I tried pumpkin seeds and pineapple for three days (sort of a modified fast). I am pretty sure I passed some stuff but it was pretty digested and hard to identify. I'll probably retry it again in the later summer.
  5. That sounds good. I wrestle with this too because my LLMD doesn't necessarily cover the basics that a good GP should do, but finding one to trust is an issue. I hate having to educate them and then be viewed as hypochondriac. It seems like it comes down to educating yourself and then going in to ask for what you think you need. Sherry
  6. Donna, you could try reseasoning in the oven. You can google for lots of suggestions on that. I use spectrum shortening for seasoning. You get it warm, then rub on the shortening, then put in the oven (I forget the temperature) for awhile. 30 min to an hour is what I remember. Since you are having trouble, you might do that twice and see what happens...
  7. I had some real problems with just a very small amount of IV cysteine that they tested me with today. So I'm not going to be supplementing any cysteine for now. I'm afraid of it. So no glutathione and no cysteine, both of which tested as very low. I like the whey idea, Julie, but don't really have time to research and purchase and no opportunity to...
  8. I don't know either, seems like what Rachel mentioned about researching everything thoroughly for herself--sometimes is our only option. Like Julie said to me awhile back, it's especially hard when our doctors that we do have trust in don't agree. How much worse when we don't know if we can trust or not. Sherry
  9. Hmm, I'll check that out.
  10. Just caught up reading. Life is kinda overwhelming these days but I haven't forgotten all of you. Countdown to departure is 11 days. Whew. Julie so sorry to hear about your breakout. I've continued my ups and downs but I think we are getting a handle on some of the stuff. My supplements have really increased and are so expensive. I figure I can...
  11. I have had some greenish/blackish stools; I haven't worried too much and assumed it was a combination of the charcoal I'm taking, or the andographis tincture I was on. When I have loose stool it tends to look this way. I think of bile as being yellow, but maybe also with a green hue.
  12. I think one think that many of us have had to learn is patience with this process. A couple of weeks would give you a lot of information about food allergies, when you totally avoid and then challenge them. However, celiac is very different and is a different type of process in the body all together. Healing of the gut takes an adult 1-2 years. That...

  14. Thanks, Rachel. What is TMG mentioned in the post you were quoting about what to supplement to help the body convert? I'm not sure my body's responses are as clear cut as yours. I just looked at my Doctor's Data report and the sulfur level is considered normal, just past the median. But one of the new supplements I am using and tested well for, and...
  15. Insomnia seems a common issue for celiac disease. If you search the forum for insomnia, you'll get lots of posts with ideas. I agree with the ideas offered. I'd eliminate the caffeine first. Also you could have your vitamin, minerals, etc checked. I tried L-tryptophan, and other similar things like HTP5 or whatever it is called. Tried melatonin...
  16. This sounds so painful and difficult. I am also thinking that IV support and a total rest of the system may be in order. Then I would wonder about baby foods in tiny amounts. I'd avoid any gluten-free substitutes for now. Make your own baby foods, and maybe just vegetables like peas or carrots, if she can keep that down add a little meat. Keep the...
  17. Rachel, I think you raise an important issue here. It helps so much to understand the whole process of what something does in the body (like ecoffee) and then what our own bodies are struggling with to figure out what to do. Sounds like ecoffee hasn't worked and maybe you are on to why. I'm trying to put things together too. Ecoffee helps me. In my...
  18. The coffee is S.A. Wilson. I tested two other organic coffees with ART and both didn't test well. This one tested quite a bit better Dr. E said. Sherry
  19. I'm sure some of it gets in as it is absorbed in the intestine to some degree. I am trying some coffee formulated just for ecoffee, recommended by Dr. E. It is green coffee. I'll post the link if I can find it. Maybe it is different than other coffee. Sherry
  20. Welcome, and hang in there. It DOES get better! You haven't mentioned how symptomatic you are. If you are really ill, you may have to be very simple with your diet for awhile. Do searches on this forum for "newbie" and you'll likely come up with lots of threads with information. I literally lived on this forum for months. I'd start with reading...
  21. Oh one more thing...I have forgotten which test is which, but one of these isn't that specific for celiac. It is the Ttg that is. You might do a search on this forum for the test you had....it might turn out that the one you have that is positive is the more general test.
  22. Sorry for all the pain and confusion. First of all, going gluten free is most likely to cause negative tests. So that yours were still positive after a week of gluten-free seems significant to me. The mechanism of celiac in the body is totally different from an allergy. Thus an allergy doesn't lead to a positive celiac blood test, at least from what...
  23. I haven't had bloating or stomach discomfort after ecoffee, usually it helps those symptoms. But I do feel "off" sometimes afterward. Ah, Donna, you can't ever cave in....we are having too much fun with it! Pretty stretched here with FIL back in the hospital, my daughter's engagement party coming up, wedding plans, work, and tracking medical stuff...
  24. I agree with everyone how it is different for each of us. I also do ecoffee after a BM--only exception is a very busy morning schedule but that is rare. I do very poorly without it, but have been able to go to twice a week when I am not relapsed... B12 shot reminders? Here's what I am doing. I have so many pills they don't fit in a pill box. So...
  25. I don't expect to be able to come off, but am still tracking the numbers to see if I'll need an adjustment. Right now the doctor thinks my dose is still exactly right.
