  1. Kassandra, Could you post again about what are the list of tests for iron? (or a link?) I have been having so much trouble with fatigue I am thinking that is something I want to have thoroughly checked this summer. Thanks! Sherry
  2. Yes, June 24--to have the malabsorption tests redone. By myself this time. My daughter has decided to wait for next spring for her wedding, but will get to participate in some of the plans maybe. Sherry
  3. Ken I agree with other posters that it is likely not going to be useful to do this on your own. Also if you do have lyme, you may have a major battle on your hands as this is a nasty bug that reeks havoc to the system. Sherry
  4. Rachel, can you mention what lab you had? The intracellular one I had during the winter was Sprectracell, it checked lymphocyte cell levels. I'd love to get one that works that would be covered by insurance though. Sherry
  5. Hello to everyone and welcome to newcomers. I am home after my two week trip but having a very down day with high fatigue and brain fog. This is happening 1-3 days a week, and also some achiness at times that gets better when I take charcoal. I just caught up with reading but no energy to post. Rachel I am also very low in selenium. I do have...
  6. I'm on a product called Minerall, plus something called Major Mineral Mix. In addition, I am getting more magnesium via my buffered C powder (Thorne) and Natural Calm. Sherry
  7. I want to take a second round of humaworm this summer. Regarding charcoal, I think it would be useful to stay on it if you are careful when you take it. You could need help with detoxing while taking the humaworm. I was taking my charcoal in the middle of the night (like if you get up to the bathroom), so it was far away from nutrients and meds, but...

    ARCHIVED Diarrhea

Lots of good advice already. I am really aware how long it takes for healing. I am a year gluten-free now but my body is still adjusting and changing. The 1-2 years for healing seems to be true for me for sure. The magnesium could definitely be absorbing better. I had the big C. I was taking 1600mg of magnesium (4 times the usual recommended) in order...
  9. Sounds like you have already covered quite a few bases. Iron deficiencies can be quite hard to trace, as I understand it. You might PM confusedks, as she has had this problem and knows quite a bit about what tests need to be run. The standard ones can show normal and there still be a major problem. You'd think that any malabsorption would have resolved...
  10. This may be more for celiac disease than gluten sensitivity, not sure. But I read that the problem isn't fully resolved with peptidase which is protein focused, that there is a carbohydrate portion of the gluten that is also troublesome and involves another enzyme. Sherry
  11. Carla, I was fine on doxy for quite awhile re sun sensitivity...then one day was out in the sun a bit more and had THE WORST sunburn. After that it was hilarious, my big hat, long gloves, high necks, etc wherever I went. I was happy to put that away after the doxy was finished. Sherry
  12. That I haven't done though I have tried it for other things. I've had gua sha on my head twice, and I think it helps a bit.
  13. Thanks, not sure about the profile. I'll have to check when I get home. Another week here; just a quick read to catch up but no time to post much. Hi to everyone--I'm here! (waving)
  14. Thanks, I'll check. Though I have taken these for years without problems, so I still think it is seasonal overload.
  15. Kassandra, that is really horrible--if they lose your results they better refund plus some extra for your trouble, gas, etc.!
  16. Thanks Jin for your kind words. I appreciate what everyone here contributes. I don't do as well at responding to everyone, but read along and follow with how everyone is doing and try to pipe in when I can. Right now I am busy on one of my trips, in meetings the last two days, a guest teacher arriving tomorrow. I haven't felt well since I got here....
  17. I am not sure what mine is because I am away from home and didn't bring my bottle with me; if you remind me I'll check when I get home at the end of the month. I'll be away until about the 27th or so. Sherry
  18. Jin and April, What I did for my trial period was in the summer when I didn't need the furnace turned on, I got a little electric hot plate, used microwave and crock pot, and made do. The water heater would be harder, but maybe you could ventilate the area, and do a little research about how much that gas is an issue. I think the gas oven and stove...
  19. About cooking gas, in Asia that is the norm. I am pretty vigilant about staying away from it and if I have to use it I keep it short and always ventilate well. Even with that, I have had some very sick spells triggered by gas exposures. In my experience, reading, etc., I'd say it is the first thing to eliminate if a person is showing chemical sensitivities...
  20. I bought a R/O unit with a pre-filter for under $200 from Ozark. The unit was refurbished, only the outside plastic case was used, everything else was new. It was $150. Then if you need to kill bugs in the water, the UV light unit attaches and is another 200 maybe. So 2600 sounds excessive. Sherry
  21. Welcome! Perhaps the switch from a gas stove will help you, but it takes awhile. When I first got MCS, I learned that turning on a gas stove without open windows or ventilation turned on, and cooking for an hour causes much higher air pollution then one ever encounters in LA. I avoid all perfumes whenever possible but shampoos are terrible--very...
  22. Dr. Fine hasn't published and so his work hasn't been confirmed and accepted by the medical community. The Ttg is the same test done on blood samples--and a positive there is seen as highly indicative of celiac. On the other hand some folk here on the forum were positive by Enterolab but ultimately were not celiac--were gluten intolerant due to leaky...
  23. Patti, this has been my experience too. I have periods where it has been worse than other times. I think this may relate to toxic or other overload (when it flares for me). I first experienced it about the time I also contracted lyme disease and at that time was considered a "universal reactor", reacting to all foods, chemicals to some degree. I get...
  24. Paula, my allergist recommended Ozark Water Services for my R/O unit. Kind of a mom and pop company maybe, but the gentlemen is a biochemist and has a lot to say about water purity. They have some simple testing and also can arrange for some more extensive testing. The simple testing is like $10. I recommend calling them, so did my allergist--versus...
  25. Great, you may have already found the answer. If, however, you have a return of symptoms, post again. There are people here who may have ideas for you. For example, if you post your lyme disease tests and results, you'll get lots of good feedback. The best of the lyme tests are at least 30% false negative and most labs are 50-60% false negative. ...
