ARCHIVED Pioneer Vitamins
tammy posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I am so very pleased with the customer service at Pioneer. I called and spoke to a helpful, pleasant, and caring representative. Although she didn't know the answer to my questions, she did give the name of the person who could help and then she put me through to her voicemail. I called the next day to speak to the woman on the voicemail and she answered... -
ARCHIVED Need Some Help W/ My Wedding Reception Menu
tammy replied to LaLaLainie's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Congratulations on your soon-to-be wedding! Also, what a wonderful granddaughter you are and your grandmother will be able to completely enjoy your special day with you. But I do agree with the other replies. I think serving the gluten-free guests right after you and your new husband are served may be a safe bet. In addition, make sure that the food is... -
ARCHIVED Dr. Praeger Food Products
tammy posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I just purchased Dr. Praegers's Fishies. The box states "Gluten-Free" and is kosher. The ingredients are free of gluten, however it clearly states that wheat, soy and eggs are used in the facility. I don't have any problems when wheat is in the facility, only when it is used on the conveyer belt and not cleaned prior to putting a gluten-free food product... -

Our local health food store ran out of our effective probiotic(acidophilus etc.) Now we are looking for a new brand that works! Your help is greatly appreciated!

I just purchased these vitamins and noticed that they have 400iu of Vitamin D3. I am uncertain as to which brand to use this or another brand that contains D2. I have a blood level on my calcium and vitamin D level. But I am just afraid how this amount of Vitamin D and high amount of trace minerals in the formula will affect my thyroid/medication. I realize...

Has anyone used this product with any success? Is it a good, safe product? Thanks! -
I had chronic bladder infections in my early twenties. Now 41, I have chronic health issues but recently the doctor put me on turmeric for several reasons. After one week, my overall bloodwork from my CBC(complete blood count) came down. I think that the turmeric may help your kidneys because of its overall benefit to other bodily functions. Its an anti...

ARCHIVED Reality Hits Once Again...
tammy replied to num1habsfan's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I see the forest through the trees on some days and others all I see is a lot of tall sticks with leaves... I had to come to terms with the fact that I have more bad days than good. I also removed all "BAD" food from my house. Is this possible for you to do? If not, perhaps you could keep a supply of your absolute favorite, safe foods in the house... -
I have scanned articles that explain its benefits to the body and they are many. TMG is often associated with methionine and the reduction of homocysteine levels. TMG helps convert homocysteine into methionine. Methionine helps to detoxify the liver. I wish to obtain additional, accurate information about these two supplements to determine which may be...

Have you found any face moisturizers that absorb quickly and actually provide true moisture? Thanks!

We love Indian food but there is a definite language barrier when we ask about wheat flour. Recently, we ate at a vegetarian Indian restaurant and they had two foods that looked safe but how can I be sure? One was like a large white rice patty. But when I asked the server if it contained wheat flour, he assured me that it did not contain wheat flour. So...

I love carob but I want something with no cane sugar. I am casein sensitive too so I can't do carob powder and milk. Many of the substitute milk drinks have barley or cane sugar in them too. Unless I stick with nut butters, carob powder and maple syrup. But that's a bit messy and doesn't travel well. Does anyone have a better idea?

My breakfasts consists of scrambled eggs and V8 juice or Buckwheat groats and sauteed vegetables, or last nights leftovers from dinner or a spoon spilling over with peanut butter! Man I remember when.... My breakfast consisted of two Pop-Tarts! Even eggs, bacon and two pieces of whole wheat toast and orange juice, that was a healthy breakfast for...

I'm loving the positive results!!!!!!!! -
I want to introduce trace minerals into my body. I respond best when I introduce anything new, in a slow and gradual manner. So I do not want to take trace minerals in pill form. I have considered Kelp in a shaker dispenser. Are there any others to consider? Thanks for your help. Have you hugged somebody today?

ARCHIVED Turmeric Powder
tammy posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Perhaps you will have a positive experience too! I take 1/2 tsp. of turmeric powder and mix it in a glass of water twice a day. (The taste is bitter but oh well) My bowel movements have increased dramatically. In addition, turmeric is said to have the following properties:anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antibiotic, inhibits platelet aggregation and lowers... -
The book is titled, "Energy from open ocean Kelp Farms" by Office of Technology Assessment, US Congress. ISBN #1410220710 Kelp is often associated with containing multiple trace minerals and since celiac disease can produce nutritional deficiencies, I thought it was worth borrowing from the library and sharing with you. Perhaps you will find this...

ARCHIVED Magnesium Citrate
tammy posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I thought this might help some of you. I started using Magnesium Citrate in powder form. It makes my mild anxiety go away giving me a nice, calm feeling. It also makes me feel refreshed and a little more energized. It did cause loose stool though, so I made sure that I took my digestive enzymes. In addition, I decided to cut the dose back from one... -
I love the idea of a sweet potato with butter and cinnamon for breakfast! Also, try cream of rice cereal, Kasha (buckwheat groats), or even rice cakes with a little nut butter!
