  1. Teflon pans get scratched easily it really is best to get one that is for your use only. The same goes for the cutting boards if they are also scratched.
  2. Are you in a country that gives an allowance or script for gluten free food? If that is the case I would go to the section of the board that covers food, products etc and post this question. One brand that can be ordered that has some good stuff is Kinnickinnick, they make pretty good bread, doughnuts, pizza shells etc but don't know if they ship to where...
  3. You may have more symptoms than your realize. You mention that you have MS. How was that diagnosed? Did you have a spinal tap where they found debris from demylinating lesions? Did you have an MRI that found white brain lesions? If you had an MRI and your diagnosis was based on that and your symptoms you may have brain impact from the antibodies rather...
  4. I am glad they were able to figure it out. I hope you continue to improve. I know how hard it is to eat when the stress levels get too high but it is important that you do. I also have been under major stress lately and I try to keep a few healthy gluten-free snacky things on hand so I can just nibble a little bit throughout the day. gluten-free pretzels...
  5. I would call your doctor and let them know about the reaction from the B12 shots. Since the anxiety became more severe after the shot the shot may have been the reason for it. Can't say for sure but I would suggest you inquire about it before another one. Perhaps you could down the B12 sublingual dose or stop it altogether for a bit and see if the panic...
  6. Have you brought these symotoms to the attention of your doctor and insisted that they do a full work up for other autoimmune diseases? Autoimmune diseases can come more than one at a time. The weakness that goes away in an short time and the blue arm and leg are the most concerning to me. Especially if you already know you are prone to blood clots these...
  7. You could also be IGA deficient would would produce a false negative with the IGA tests. You would need to ask your doctor for a total IGA to find that out.
  8. It would be very helpful if you could post the actual results and the reference ranges that were used for the tests. If the antigliadin tests were positive then as far as I know that would mean that yes you should be gluten free. Also if these were Enterolab tests you can give the lab a call and they will be helpful with any questions you have.
  9. It sounds like your doctor suggested you try the diet after blood tests and endo. He will have the results of your previous testing. Get copies of those tests and post them and we can let you know if they were a complete panel. Your doctor sounds like a good one and there are false negatives in both blood and biopsy which it appears he knows. What I...
  10. Here is a link to overdose symptoms for the B vitamins. Take a look over them and see if perhaps you are getting too much. This is a possibility if you are getting the shots and your body is now absorbing them from food and or you are also taking oral supplements. How often is your ND checking your levels? Hopefully the doctor is checking frequently since...
  11. Did you check with your pharmacist or the company to make sure the drug was gluten free? You have to check all meds, script or OTC. Generic drugs need to be checked at each refill as the binders can change. You also need to check all vitamins and supplements and do be aware that some vitamins labeled gluten free will have barley or wheat grass added and...
  12. One thing I would suggest is to be put on a cancellation list for the procedure and the appointment if your schedule permits. Also even though you were only gluten free for a couple weeks your body may still react badly to adding gluten back in. Make sure you let you doctors know if that happens. If you do need to be gluten free you may not get much if...
  13. Another contributing factor could be withdrawl also since you haven't been gluten free for very long. I am glad to hear you are feeling better. If you do go with Xanax or another antianxiety med be very sure they check to see if it is gluten free. The name brand Xanax isn't gluten-free last I checked. There are generic brands of it (alprazolam) with...
  14. I can only speak for mysef but my asthma and chronic bronchitis have totally disappeared since I went gluten free. I know asthma is linked to inflammation and for me celiac causes a lot of that. I haven't needed either my inhalor or Singulair since diagnosed.
  15. I am glad you are calling your doctor today. I hope they are able to figure out what is going on.
  16. Country Life and Now are the two brands that come to mind. They are the brands I use most often.
  17. Not everyone has problems with insurance after diagnosis, but some do. It is not possible to say which group you would fall into. I would also suggest Enterolab if you don't want a diagnosis on your record but I would not go by your gene testing but by the testing they do for antibodies in your stool. The reason is that the gene tests only tell you what...
  18. My reactions to soy are much different than my reactions to gluten. Soy binds me up really bad but I don't get the same neuro effects and arthritic pain that I get from gluten. Soy also makes me feel like my intestines are swollen but doesn't give me the bloat and gas that I get from gluten. Gluten also makes my ataxia worse, makes my hair fall out and...
  19. That is a question only your OB can answer. I hope you have also asked him before taking the tinture. He needs to know and approve any thing you are taking right now even supplements. This is especially true since you are close to term and some herbals can effect your system and effect any drugs they may need to give you in delivery. I also hope you have...
  20. What wonderful news! Congratulations!!!
  21. One thought, have you tried making smoothies using milk or an alternative milk in place of the yogurt that is often put in? Make them more like a milkshake at first and slowly start replacing the milk with yogurt for better nutrition. Also you may do this already but if you let him pick out the fruit and perhaps even let him, with a lot of guidance cut...
  22. One thing I forgot to mention about the DH issue. Make sure the derm is familiar with the process for biopsy. If he biopsies the lesions themselves that will come back negative. The biopsy needs to be tissue beside the lesions.
  23. s Yes you can have DH and not have positives you can also have celiac and not have positive labs or biopsy. False negatives are not unusual. When your done with all testing for celiac be sure to give the diet a good try no matter what the results. Being gluten free will not effect testing for anything other than celiac so it does not hurt to try the...
  24. Not only have I always heard that also but I have also had the most unpleasent experience of having to remove a piece of chicken bone from the back of my dogs throat. Since he outweighed me and was very frightened and choking it was neither easy nor pleasent although he did not make any attempt to bite me. Just to be on the safe side now I debone any chicken...
