  1. Does this person have celiac related symptoms? Or a family history if celiac related problems? I also have never seen anything that would correlate lung cancer with gluten intolerance. However someone who works in a profession like drywall worker, baker or perhaps a wheat farmer could have problems from breathing it in and if they had celiac disease...
  2. I am at a bit of a loss here and hope someone might have some advice. It's a long and sordid tale but I am at the moment without either doctor or naturopath. I'm tired of being poisoned although I realize that I am a toughy to treat with celiac, soy and dairy intolerances. Me ex-naturopath has prescribed some Symplex F 7780 to try and help with my adrenals...
  3. Alex I get something similar but instead of someone hearing me stutter they hear nothing. It can be very difficult when glutened badly for me to talk, it is like the sentence is in my head but it won't come out. I also have trouble with finding words even for simple things. For example before diagnosis it was impossible for me to ask someone, for example...
  4. Pacific Foods is a really good one and I like that you can get single serving sizes.
  5. As long as those vitamins are for sure gluten free you definately are not having drug withdrawl symptoms from them. I agree with the previous poster that you need to stay on a good supplement. I would even go so far as to suggest that you get a seperate sublingual B12, until we have healed we do not absorb and utilize this vitamin in our guts like most...
  6. They are a great company, if you go to their website they have a really long list of safe stuff. If you just put Perdue and gluten in a search engine it will take you right to the website for the list.
  7. Although the chicken broth must list wheat as a flavoring agent when it is in a meat product they do not have to list barley (malt), the much more likely gluten agent in this. Injected poultry is something we do need to check on. If it is not from a company that always lists gluten ingredients, like Kraft, to be safe and sure you should call the company...
  8. Go to the office and demand copies of the report, it is your legal right. Once you get them if you haven't seen him yet for translation you can post the results here and I am sure one of the medically savvy folks can interpret the results that are given. I would do this even if your doctor does see you as some doctors do not fully disclose lab results or...
  9. I agree with the others that you have already been diagnosed. You have recieved some good advice already but the one thing I feel is important to add is that after you have been STRICTLY gluten free for a few months the sensitivities to some of the stuff you react to now could very well lessen or even disappear. That can apply to not only foods but also...
  10. I am glad you found a good perdon to guide you through the elimination diet. If what you experienced with the oats trial was a gluten reaction it may take up to 3 weeks for you to get completely over it. Hang in there. I was one who doesn't show up in blood work but in my case all that was done was to tell me I was in the clear and heres some more pills...
  11. I have been as close to 100% gluten free now as possible for almost 4 years. The only time I run into a gluten issue is when I choose to risk by eating a processed product made in the same facility. And I don't do that often because I don't like to play games with my mental and physical health. My home is gluten-free, my pets are gluten-free, my toiletries...
  12. Here is a link to the drug, make sure you read the whole thing it does have some side effects that could be concerning if you don't know they will happen. Also it states that if you are taking an antibiotic with it you should not take it for more than 2 days. If you are still having symptoms after taking it for two days get right back with your doctor....
  13. Margret is absolutely right about the college issue, but I would go to the college first. When my DD went to college they put her in senior housing in a private room with a small kitchenette even though she was a freshman because that was the only way to accomadate her needs. If you are in college the first thing I would do is talk to your advisor and...
  14. Bob's Red Mill uses seperate facilities for their stuff that they mark gluten-free, I had been scared to try them because of CC risk until I found that out but have tried a couple gluten-free marked products since and had no problem. If you like buckwheat and can find the Pocono brand they only do buckwheat and I have never had an issue with it. I would...
  15. I started seeing this a few months ago, one word of caution though the cherry vanilla does NOT have the gluten-free label, it was my DS's fav and he was wondering for a long time where he was getting gluten. I called yoplait to see if maybe it was just older containers but some part of the flavoring in that one wasn't safe. This was a couple months ago so...
  16. Get yourself a hot plate, if things are real tough pm me I have one I don't use that is almost new and I will be glad to send it off. You can do fresh chicken in a toaster oven if you get boneless skinless breasts, just wrap them in foil packets if you are concerned about splatter, I also add a couple of veggies just make sure the tin foil does not touch...
  17. You really need to call the company on this one. Most are gluten-free but not all, but when you get to the issue of the added fruit items you are getting into a higher risk. Your best, most nutritious and safest way to have added fruit is to add your own fresh fruit or gluten-free jam.
  18. You really need to try and get your diet as pure as you can. I agree with the others you need to cut the processed food for a month or two at least to give your body the time to heal. If all your system can tolerate now is bland food that is what you should give it for now. Salad greens may not be easily tolerated at this point but you can go for fresh...
  19. You can also get gluten free food for your pets. I use Innova Evo, it is a totally grain free product made with real meat, not waste products, and veggies. My pets thrive on it. It costs a bit more than the grain filled garbage we used to get but between better health for my pets and a much less stinky litter box it is well worth the price. They also...
  20. I personally do not buy lists. Any list is out of date the minute it is printed, manufacturors change ingredients and also some lists, Frito lay is a prime example, have copious amounts of foods that are gluten free by ingredients but so heavily CC'd that they are very risky. It is better IMHO to call for a product you have, know what you need to look for...
  21. GI wise I had years when the only time I had gut symptoms that were severe were primarily during the two weeks before my period. I had a very rumbling tummy since childhood on a daily basis, but I thought that was normal. It's not as my tummy is really quiet now and only growls at me when I eat something I shouldn't. It wasn't until the last 15 years before...
  22. These idiots even state their Apple Muffins are safe, wheat and barley first ingredients. I just gave them a very strongly worded but polite phone call, I would suggest others do the same, here is their number for customer assistance please call 1-800-826-1752
  23. With your history and good results wheat free do you really feel strongly you have to have a positive test to validate what your body is already telling you? I relied on the blood tests for years, was never even told to try the diet just to be thankful I didn't have celiac. No doctor or anyone else told me what it was or the high chances of a false negative...
  24. Same here. I wouldn't touch a Frito Lay product it is too much of a risk.
  25. You really need to stay out of that doctors office and go to the one who diagnosed you even if you need to travel to do so. You also need to get copies of the records from the diagnosis that you can bring in to the doctors with you if you need to. You have a legal right to them. The second doctor is going off the records of the first one you saw in his...
