  1. Hi Jessica, you may want to try posting the query about Crystal Light in the products section, more folks may see it that way. Good luck on your test for me it was one of the easiest tests I ever had done and with the gluten-free solution it had no after effects.
  2. Edit, accidentally posted twice
  3. Jessica I think you are thinking of two differnt posts. As for the CT you need to make sure it is gluten free, it will be water based and you should be able to see through it. Also if they are going to inject any contrast material and you have DH make very sure you let them know. The solution is no big deal to drink, not as hard to get down as the gluten...
  4. Edit Removed duplicate post.
  5. The best way to get an answer on this is to call the company or to enter the name of the rice cakes and the word gluten into a search engine. Also if you tell us the name of the particular rice cake you bought that would help someone here give you better info.
  6. I think you found the culprit. However if you become more ill or the dark stool does not resolve and you have not taken any more pepto you should contact your doctor to be on the safe side.
  7. Okay I am so bored with my diet, and have been craving something different. I found this and thought I would share. I've been craving hot italian sausage so that will be the first I try. Open Original Shared Link PERDUE
  8. Are you taking iron supplements or pepto bismal? Both will make your stool black. If you are in pain, running a fever, or are unusually pale or are real freaked out you may want to call the doctor.
  9. The key here is the word I have made bold. If it has a broth or flavoring or has been processed at all you do need to check. The risk is not the grain added to the meat, (this law came about to keep folks from paying meat prices for cereals), the risk is the seasoning or natural flavoring added in the processing.
  10. I would find something else. There is no way that is safe for us.
  11. If you are still healing, ie. symptomatic, do not take these it can set you back or keep you symptomatic. I would pass these on to a non gluten intolerant friend or ask at the store you bought them if you can return them for exchange or refund. Depending on the store if you explain that you turned out to be 'allergic' to a component of the product this...
  12. My first question would be did your doctor test for intrinsic factor or did he just check your B12 levels? True P. Anemia is caused because your body does not produce the intrinsic factor that is needed to 'get' the B12 into your bloodstream. In Celiacs the villi that are damaged are the same ones that you need to produce the intrinsic factor. For people...
  13. That depends on your system, some of us react to distilled gluten grains but some are fine with them. The only way to really tell if you react or not is to challenge a for sure gluten grain derived vinager and/or alcohol to see if you react. It does seem folks with neuro damage and DH are more likely to react.
  14. If it was straight balsamic vinager that's fine, but some may add flavorings and the restaurant may add something not safe to their dressing. In addition you should check on that orange juice, unless it was 100% pure juice it could have gluten in some form or another. I hope you feel better soon, I find that pepto bismal (name brand) helps alot with the...
  15. In doing a bit of early morning searching I came up with quite a few entries that state a wheat derived source of glucose, and not just in Europe. If you check out McDonalds ingredient lists they use both wheat glucose and wheat dextrose in a few products. I wasn't able to figure out how to cut and paste from that site though. The best site for general...
  16. I was diagnosed celiac by an allergist and my GI confirmed. There was no doubt about it at that point. I had just about every celiac symptom you can get and they had been progressing in spurts since childhood. I am also extremely sensitive to even small amount of CC and had many autoimmune disorders that stemmed directly from the autoimmune reaction from...
  17. I wouldn't take this product. There are probiotics that are safe for us, I would either pick one of those or try to find a yogurt with live cultures that is safe. Your not going to have much success balancing your digestive bacteria when you are getting CC'd.
  18. You need to call Tyson and check on the ingredients in the broth. Many times the broth is flavored with something that is not safe. Barley once it is turned into malt then becomes a 'seasoning or flavoring agent and they can feel free to use it in the broth. I always buy the meats that have no broth added, usually they are organic and cost a bit more but...
  19. What a gorgeous pair. It sounds like they really need you and I hope they don't complain at you all the way home tommorrow. Thanks for posting the pics, you'll have to post one of them taking over your couch in a couple of weeks.
  20. Scott, I think you guys do a great job of keeping the spam down. And sometimes it does seem all of a sudden we have two or three different ones but it never fails that the next time I come on in the same day they are gone. You do a great job expecially considering you allow educational and company nonspam links in the post. If I am not mistaken that means...
  21. I bet that would work with a little gorilla glue added. Coat it with sealer and make a walk way.
  22. I have to vote with Kinnikinnick premade loaves. They are well worth the trouble to order on line if you have to. Make sure you try a package of the pizza crust to. They seem much like what I remember as gluten bread. Most of our breads are par-baked, the best way I have found is to nuke them until they are warm then you can let them cool for cold sandwiches...
  23. All Heinz Vinagers are gluten free except the apple cider FLAVORED and the Malt. Their regual apple cider vinager and their distilled are gluten-free. Also wine vinagers that have nothing added to them are also safe. Some carmel colorings are derived from 'cooking' starches, wheat and barley can be used. If in doubt call the company. Carmel that just...
  24. All I can say is check out my signature. I found out yesterday, almost 5 years post diagnosis that technically I do not have the recognized celiac genes. It took a long time for me to get diagnosed and I had a great deal of damage. The majority of problems that have not resolved began long before the D set in. If I were in your shoes I would go strictly...
  25. The confusion I think is because although wheat is considered an allergin, it can cause a extreme histamine reaction and sudden death in allergic folks, gluten is not an allergin it is an intolerance, while gluten is in wheat it is not apparently considered the allergenic, the wheat itself is. Since gluten is not an allergin items that contain gluten are...
