I had to get my tonsils out too because of these stones. It happened a few months after I got diagnosed, I had huge stones that I started to take out on my own (gross, I know) But it got so bad that I had to go get them taken out!

Just curious....when has it started being called "glutenized"? Is that the new term for being glutened or is that just something that's started on this board as of recently? Maybe I'm out of the loop but I just started hearing this recently and wondered where it came from!

i don't know why i keep forgetting that, it's so simple.

I'm soo sorry to all of you who have answered me before, I promise to save it this time if you help me
Does anyone know why this happens?

1-2-3 Gluten Free Southern Glory Biscuits are the most delicious things I've ever made. Just like a fresh normal biscuit. If you need one right now, I suggest tracking this delicious mix down stat!!

SKyy and FireFly are also gluten free

I HIGHLY recommend any of the local restaurants, they're so willing to work with you. I lived down in that direction for several years and just got back from a vacation down there. Try Prossers in Murrells Inlet, it's a BBQ place and the BBQ is a vinegar based, so it's safe. It's your option for sauces but if you get some BBQ to go...you can use your own sauce. Bovines in Murrells Inlet will completely cater to you and your disease/allergy. I'm a very sensitive celiac and I didn't run into any issues. There's also a place called High Hammocks at the Hammock Shops in Pawley's Island that has gluten free options. Or you could head toward Conway for some Buffalo Wild Wings (should you feel the need for some spice
)
I honestly have not had any trouble at local restaurants, they're so understanding and careful...I'm generally one who avoids chains because I feel like they're not!! However, there's a PF Changs at Market Commons that is gluten friendly and Cheeseburger in Paradise is nice. I tend to avoid Outback after several bad experiences.
A lot of the grocery stores have plenty of gluten free options .I even found the gluten free Betty Crocker mixes at the Lowes Foods en route to Murrells : )

the george forman grill has gotten me through many a rough day!!! i love whole foods too. thanks for the ideas!

has anyone found the gluten free betty crocker mixes in VA or MD??

You shouldn't have to throw away your cookie cutters. Why not soak them in bleach or a cleaning agent so you can clean them and keep them around!! I didn't throw out mine and did this and still get to enjoy fun shaped cookies!
-
my piece of advice is, if the blood test said no but a gluten-free diet made you feel better....go back on the gluten free diet!! you don't get the official "you have celiac disease" bumber sticker but you will feel better
-
I've eaten there lots of times and never had a problem. Just make sure you keep an eye on them when they're putting the stuff on your plate, sometimes they try to throw the cornbread on top and you have to stop them!

oh my goodness THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So suddenly my board changed and doesn't show the replies to the topics, I have to click on each one individually and it's driving me nuts. Does anyone know how to fix it?

I've had these breakfast sandwhichs, I got them at the Whole Foods in Fells Point (Baltimore). They weren't horrible.....they weren't like McDonald's either
BUT I was so excited when I saw these in the store because I think it's amazing that these companys are attempting new ideas for us. I've been gluten free for 6 years and after awhile, you just get bored of the same old options all the time. I travel a lot for work so I don't have a lot of time to do all the cooking to get some of these products...I wish I did though!!
-
I'm not sure if they have lists, I'm sure they do if you contacted them. I spent a lot of time in the Myrtle Beach area last year and they all were adding entire rows of Gluten-Free products!
-
They both have gluten free options. As does Food Lion, which is around there!
-
I think Bards is the best gluten-free beer that is on the market.

Raisin.
Please list what coffees are NOT gluten free, plain, regular non-flavored coffees. thanks!
Also...if you're so concerned with the cross contaimination now that Smuckers bought Folgers (although I highly doubt they just bought the brand and not the entire plant that the coffee is manufactured in, thus meaning they probably won't change the ingrediants nor change the way they are processed). Contact the company and ask and post it on here for all to see!

Don't be so quick to assume that since your stomach has been acting funky now that you're eating more yogurt that it's a gluten reaction. Yogurt is utilized to help bring good bacteria into your body to fight off the bad bacteria...that's why they make that digestive tract help yogurt now, because it's supposed to help get your body more regular. I can't eat a lot of yogurt because of a texture problem
(same reason why I can't eat bananas...yuck!!) The yogurt might actually help you feel better in the long run
ones your body gets used to the influx of good bacteria!!

a bean taco? you mean in the soft shell?
I'm fairly certain none of these items are gluten free...cinnamom twists included. Taco Bell has a very limited list, their taco meat is not gluten free. Refriend beans are...one of their bowls are without the totilla crisps on it. But I think it's a place most gluten-free folks generally avoid..
Tonsil Stones

also in response to some of these replies.....you can just individually decide to get your tonsils out, you obviously have to have a doctor's diagnosis. So if you have a doctor, whom you trust, telling you it's in your best interest, why would you not follow their suggestions? I was sick all the time and had these stones for years. I haven't been sick once since I got my tonsils out, minus the flu one year, and I used to get strep throat regularly. Instead of urging someone not to get their tonsils out, I urge people to go see someone qualified to give you a proper diagnosis!! Hopefully you'll feel better soon!
