  1. Does anybody have Celiac/Gluten Sensitivity and IC? The reason I ask is because I just got diagnosed with IC and I read that Wheat, Corn, Oat, Barley and Rye can cause additional symptoms in IC Patients. When you look at the causes (unknown to this time) there is a theory that it is caused by antibody levels but they don't say what kind. Any info on this...
  2. Can I get one emailed too? swhitnall@comcast.net
  3. Do you have a lay over? If so, what airport?
  4. My understanding it that an IgG alone is more of a allergic response. Have you ever had her tested for food allergies. I see Dr. Fasano on a regular basis and was recently released with just a gluten sensitivity not celiac. However, I showed a very positive reaction to wheat in an allergy testing. Why not try the gluten free diet for a month and see...
  5. I get them as well as my mother. My doctor said the main contributing factor to PVCs is caffeine. Cut down on the caffeine and they will mostly go away. I have not been able to eat anything with caffeine in it for about 4 months now and I only had it once in the very beginning. My doctor said that is I had them with more frequency (I was getting them...
  6. I was diagnosed with non-Celiac Gluten Intolerance. For the two biopsies I had both were negative but my antibody levels were elevated greatly and I had one of the genes. For me, I choose to do the Gluten-Free diet. but I also have a wheat allergy. My only symptoms is a burning in my stomach the next day and headaches that could or could not be related...
  7. I get muscle twitching from time to time and I believe it is because my body is low on potassium. I take a diruetic for blood pressure. But I will get twitching in one eye or in my calve muscle . I have never gotten them in my stomach though. Also, I twitch right as I am getting ready to fall asleep. My boyfriend always knows when I am minutes from sleeping...
  8. Thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately I took a probiotic for a month and have been eating yogurt everyday for the last year. That is why I am not sure what to do next??
  9. Well I am the opposite I am coping pretty well but need some advice. I was on antibiotics for about a month. Prior to that I was on antibiotics for 2 weeks a month before. The Yeast infection never quite went away... creams would help but then a couple of days later I would be back to itchiness. I was on diflucan for a month and a half and it never really...
  10. I have had food poisoning 3 times in my life and it sounds like that. Your severe symptoms usually show up about 7-8 hours after ingesting the food. Severe cramps and can't go then you throw up etc. I will save you the gory details. Did you fiance eat the same things?
  11. Maybe it is the coffee and you don't know it. Too much caffeine causes GI/Diahrea symptoms. I think I read up to 8 cups of 8 ounces a day will make anyone go straight to the bathroom.
  12. I have had two colonoscopys and 1 sigmoidoscopy. First one I took the go-lightly (nothing light about it). Second time 2 ducolax and a enema and third fleet (yuck- I mixed it with sprite and haven't had sprite since 3 years ago.)
  13. Which gene is the gluten sensitivity one and which one is the celiace one?

    ARCHIVED Quote Of The Day

This maybe a stupid question. Are you saying you can't have soy, corn and tomatoes or that everybody gluten intolerant shouldn't have these things. I have never heard that before and I have been doing the gluten-free diet for 3 years now.
  15. I only get the burning sensation after eating gluten. After eating gluten for a year from a gluten challege my stomach lining was raw. Dr said it is from excess stomach acid that is produced due to sensitivity/allergy. I have a wheat allergy as well as gluten sensitivity. Once I stopped gluten the burning went away in a week. When I accidentially eat...
  16. I am gluten sensitive but I get a burning sensation in my stomach. Dr. said it is excess production of stomach acid due to sensitivites/allergies.
  17. I always had a positive IgA bloodwork but no damage even after a gluten challenge of a year. So I was diagnosed gluten sensitive not celiac. This diagnosis came from one of the top Celiac researchers. You mentioned Georgetown... Are you close to University of MD? You might want to make an appt with the Celiac Research Center if you want more information...

    ARCHIVED Wendy's

Has anybody asked for something without the bun and been told no even after you explained you will pay full price? This has happened to me twice. Ugh! One time it was in the heart of Washington, DC at the Smithsonian Cafe.
  19. I personally lived off of those fry stands at disney when I went to disneyland a couple of years ago. I had no problem with them but it is up to you.
  20. So let me get this straight because I was having problems with it to... If it is not listed after contains:.... then it will say in the ingredients wheat not modified food starch or something hidden.
  21. I am curious too. I love white bread and I am just not finding a substitute. I tried Annas made directly from her and didn't like the after taste. But I am a white bread eater and that is probably why. I am sure it is delicious to those who like the darker heavier tasting breads. If you find one please post it. I would love to eat bread again.
  22. Nuts do cause kidney stones of the calcuim nature which is 80% of them. THey are high in oxylate which contributes to kidneys stones. Other products like tea, chocolate, etc also cause kidney stones. So Nuts isn't the only thing that causes kidney stones but in the top four offenders of products containing high oxylate levels. Not driking enough water...
  23. My grandmother lives in Menasha, WI and I go to the Red Raddish store has all my gluten-free food. Also, the Pick and Save has 3 aisles of gluten-free food! More to offer than in Baltimore, MD... go figure.
  24. I wanted to request some help.... I am pretty knowledgeable on what to exclude from my diet so that I don't encounter any gluten. My question is what food/vitamins do I need to incorporate to make up for the missing grains. I have gotten to the point where I just avoid bread gluten free or not because the gluten-free bread taste horrible. I am just afraid...
  25. I did a gluten challege with the Celiac Research Center in Baltimore for a year. He said you really need to do it for that long to get an accurate result. I ended up being diagnosed Gluten Sensitive and not Celiac. My only symptoms the whole year was a burning in my stomach so it is really a personal decision to make. I personally needed proof in my...
