  1. Anti-anxiety medication is good, too, but I found it worked best with therapy. It took me a long time to not be so scared and anxious of the symptoms returning. Then, I felt crazy for feeling that and that made me more anxious. When you are sick so long it is hard to believe that you truly can live a normal life. Add in the fact of worrying about being...
  2. Aw, what exciting news!
  3. You can't order this on-line, though?
  4. If you do not want it on record then just go 100% gluten-free for a few months. If you feel better then don't eat gluten. You have to really make sure you are careful or else you will still be sick. That way you aren't being tested but are testing your body's reaction. Also, I was diagnosed with a blood test. After graduating college I had to go off...
  5. After my symptoms went away, I had bad anxiety. I found therapy helped a lot. It takes major adjusting to go from being so ill to being so well. Good luck!
  6. I don't know how long your symptoms will last, but I do have a suggestion for special meals. If you can't find a restaurant to make you the delicious special occasion food you want you could try hiring a chef to come to your home and make you that special meal. That way you don't get sick. I have met and heard of a few private chefs interested in or already...
  7. Didn't think I would find anything for Celiacs while visiting my boyfriends family in LA. However, we saw an ad on TV for Fiesta Nutrition Center and went to see it. It had a load of resources and food free of gluten and dairy. However, it was all way more expensive than what I pay for in Georgia. Some products were DOUBLE the price. I didn't buy anything...
  8. If I were you I would just bring my own food every time. That way they don't have to cook for you and you know you are eating something safe. You have to put your health first.
  9. It does vary for how long it takes you to react and for how long it lasts. It depends on how much you ate, what you ate, how much was in your stomach, etc. I hope your symptoms go fast!
  10. How weird. I wonder why they aren't advertising this since most Celiacs wouldn't be going there!
  11. Cinnamon rolls? Mmm! That is great to have near you!
  12. That's great to hear!
  13. Thanks for posting- sounds great!
  14. It may have been the tortilla.
  15. That doesn't sound too bad for a family of 6. If you really want to save and don't mind coupons then try doing match ups with what is on sale. That way you save a lot more. Especially if there are buy one get one deals or 10 for $10.00. That way you can get items for pennies or a dollar. There is a forum called Hot Coupon World that has a lot of the...
  16. Are you sure that is safe? They are constantly grabbing at the veggies with gluten hands. I wouldn't consider the bottom ones safe.
  17. Maybe she can have something to heat up? When I went to school they always had a microwave in the cafeteria. Good luck!
  18. Thanks for sharing!
  19. I have found PF Chang's staff to be horrible, too! I try hard never to go back because the waiters are always a pain, and the chef's always mix up the soy sauces.
  20. Sounds great!
  21. I would definitely bring some food with you. You can ask them to put a mini-fridge and microwave in your room. There might be a small fee for that, though.
  22. Looks yummie!!!!!!
  23. You might want to try the library for some books to see which you want to buy. I have found so many in my library system. A lot of cook books aren't that good, so, you really have to look! I also like getting magazines because they have recipes and other ideas in them, too. A great one is Living Without Magazine.
  24. I have never seen gluten in any of those. Read the label just to be sure, but I don't think you'll find an issue. Good luck to you and your family!
  25. I'd go with an almond butter. Just make sure it wasn't produced in a facility with peanuts. Even local grocery stores should carry some of these. I have seen loads of brands and most were not contaminated with peanuts but I'd call them to confirm. Good luck! P.S. I did a quick Google search and found Open Original Shared Link which is made in a dedicated...
