  1. The heart pounding makes me think allergy. I'd get to a dr asap.
  2. Another vote for Enterolab
  3. If you are a little nervous, try those crock pot liners!! I am normally a penny pincher but those are keepers!!
  4. I try to bring something like baked potatoes still in the foil. I will bring topping for the others but slip our untouched topping in my purse.
  5. I have noticed since going gluten free that I cannot tolerate any form of chile peppers - including the minimal amount in the sauce. If we eat at our favorite Mexican place, we go straight home. I tested my pepper theory just yesterday. I cooked my own from trusted ingredients. Same thing. I am guessing it has to do with the adjustments my body is making...
  6. My Dad didn't seem to think of it as low stress. The supervisors didn't know up from down - Dad's supervisor couldn't reason his way out of a cardboard box. Dad was lucky and on a good route with great people but you are still dealing with people. Grandma X expects her mail at 11:00. If you get it there at 11:01 she is calling and complaining. Holiday...
  7. Like the others have said, this isn't making any sense. Casein IS the primary milk protein. There are other milk proteins that a rare few have the severe life threatening reactions to but the primary protein most deal with is casein. We have allergies to the milk protein casein in this house. You need to avoid ALL forms of milk. Think of casein issues...
  8. Breadcrumbs sound great -- especially to bread chicken or chicken fried steak.
  9. I haven't found one yet either.
  10. Good start! We are trying to convince hubby's sister. I think you have to just keep presenting the info and those little "mind reading" stunts like you just did.
  11. IMO it is hard. At this point I believe it is MY responsibility to research and to know what is going on with me and what the normal practices are for medicating and dealing with health issues. My first allergist said "adults cannot be allergic to milk". I said, "its my dollar test me anyway". During the test the nurse runs out and gets the dr to...
  12. Never thought of it until you mentioned it. Sounds good. I don't have a recipe. I am an experimenter so I would start by trying the basic pasta recipe with a fine corn flour. I've missed my hm pasta so I may have to try it now.
  13. Oddly enough I'm highly allergic to ragweed yet stevia settles my sinus headaches, congestion...hair of the dog???
  14. Neti pot!!
  15. Make sure you have a milk free brand of mayo. Some brands have it some don't so double check.
  16. Hubby and I went to a counselor over this type of an issue. He said that the kids were not to be left alone with her ever again. He even went on to say that since we knew she was endangering their lives he would turn US in if he ever thought we were allowing unsupervised visits. I think he got his point across.
  17. Red ears are a pretty standard sign of allergies/sensitivities. Dr Rapp addresses this and other "non traditional" symptoms in her book "Is This Your Child".
  18. We are Gluten-free Casein-free. We eat basic meals - baked chicken, roast, pork chops. I try to have a green veggie, a colored veggie and a grain/starchie veggie. I keep bowls of fruit out for snacks. Once in a blue moon we will have rice cakes, chips or something like that.
  19. You may want to hop over to Feingold.org to read about all the artificials and their problems. Your child is definitely not alone in the issues with dyes and fake sugars. We have found we are more tolerant of "real" foods once we eliminated the artificials.
  20. I'm not a big med person. We start with a hot cup of tea.
  21. Hmmmm. Have you ever given her probiotics/acidophilus ?? Does she do the same thing with that?? I would think yogurt would be much more tolerable than the formula. I am wondering if the good bacteria in the probiotics/acidophilus are doing their job and creating a "little war" in her tummy while they are working (it will be a good thing after...
  22. My kids think the Namaste fake cheese is vile. They have been agreeable participants in sampling new and unusual foods but the 3 of them put their foot down at this.
  23. My store doesn't have them yet!!!
  24. There are a couple points under the ear that the chiropractor works with and relaxes. (I don't know what these points are called but they are usually sore when your ear is at that point). It doesn't hurt, it is almost like a massage. Then these muscles relax and the bone moves back into place it opens up the areas around the ear. It is almost instant...
  25. I choose less invasive practices first. When my ear starts building fluid I go to a soft touch chiropractor (activator style). I've actually had to grab a tissue a couple times during an adjustment because he got my ear to really draining. It was gross but OH it felt so good to have that relief.
