  1. Does anyone know if the Dove chocolates that were sold for Christmas, I think the were called Jewels, are ok? I ate one of the Chocolate Cashew Almond ones (green wrapper) and now can't find any info.
  2. I was wondering if anyone noticed that their symptoms vary depending on if they were cc glutened and actually ate something with gluten. When I have some symptoms but not all of my "normal" symptoms I think maybe it is cc, but maybe its just I don't feel good. Like when I have eaten something that has gluten (on accident) I get headaches for 3-4 days, D for...
  3. I think its the adhesive too. I get bad welts from bandaids, tape, even the medical tape that shouldn't be a problem. My step daughter does too. She even gets it from stickers (you know how kids like to put stickers on their hands and stuff) but hers is worse. She can't use bandaids, I do and deal with it. I usually still have a mark on my arm by the time...
  4. Actually no problem with eggs. I am learning to bake since going gluten-free and my daughter found the recipe on a dairy free website. I thought you usually bake with eggs, but didn't know to question it. I will try the shortening, do you know if butter flavor Crisco is dairy free? The ingredients say "natural and artificial butter flavors" I would think...
  5. My daughter and I made some chocolate chip cookies and substituted the flour with Gluten Free Pantry all purpose flour and it was a disaster. They never melted down for lack of a better way to describe it. They stayed as clumped formed balls of cookie. They crumbled like they were made of powder and were awful! This is so frustrating since there were probably...
  6. There are also Mickey cereal and Little Einstein cereal made by General Mills that are safe. I found them all at my regular grocery store and they are pretty good. Mickey tastes kinda like fruit loops and Little Einstein tastes kinda like fruity pebbles but not so sugary.
  7. I was wondering about that. I don't see ferritin on my lab results. They tested for a ton of things that I don't know what they are, but I don't see ferritin. Also, what would the results say if they checked my calcium and B vitamin levels, do you know? How'd you get to a hematologist? Did you have other symptoms?
  8. Yeah, everything is sealed so I could leave out what I need to, but I remember I really liked the dressing. I will try to contact the company. Thanks!
  9. Does anyone know if the Ready Pac Grand Fiesta salad from Costco is gluten free? Its the bagged all-in-one kit.
  10. I am cold all the time too and I thought it was my thyroid but my doctor ran the tests and they are "perfect". Has anyone found out they had a thyroid problem after their blood tests were within range? Is there anything else they can test? My TSH was 1.39 (smack in the middle of range) and they did something else called 3rd generation w/ reflex to FT4 that...
  11. I have seen a few posts saying that Vanillin is gluten free and I have also seen a few saying it isn't. This is gonna sound stupid and I know you will probably say just don't eat em but I got these chocolate covered sunflower seeds for Christmas and I didn't eat them because I wasn't sure if I could. Well here is what I found on the website. Q: Are Sunny...
  12. Thats strange that the ingredients are so different. I was wondering if is was a CYA too but I'm not gonna find out I bought some Progresso chicken and rice soup.
  13. Campbells lists gluten? Here are the ingredients from the back of the condensed chicken with rice (in the USA): Chicken Stock, cooked rice, cooked chicken meat, water, carrots, modified food starch, chicken fat, contains less than 1% of: celery, cooked mechanically separated chicken, monosodium glutamate, sugar, maltodextrin, onions, vegetable oil, yeast...
  14. I know this has already been said but if doctors would just listen and trust that patients might not have a medical degree but we do know our own bodies. The other thing is not everyone fits a textbook list of criteria but if the symptoms are there at least consider it! Now I will tell you some of the crazy things I have been told by my doctor, my kids...
  15. Oh, thank you for the book suggestion she wanted a book about it so bad. I will tell her to look at those other forums too, it is so nice to have somewhere to go for support and information.
  16. Good point about the has no symptoms. I guess I won't even worry about her going back to dairy now. One day (and food group) at a time. Its probably a little denial for me still. I know it sounds stupid but she really misses chocolate and I want her to be happy and chocolate makes me happy Also, thank you for the link to the recipes! She is gonna...
  17. I am careful to not let her know I think its a fad, but I know her and I think it is. I am being supportative as far as she knows, but I did tell her I am concerned about her health if she does stick with it. I just worry about the amount of calories she won't be getting and the nutrients she will be missing. Changing your diet is huge and removing such a...
  18. Have you checked your thyroid? I am looking into mine right now, taking my basal temp every morning. I get those deep in my bones chills but not the hot thing. I am always cold.
  19. Hardboiled eggs are a great idea! I don't eat them and I am "blind" to foods I don't eat. I am the pickiest thing in the world! She said she will still eat some fish (she doesn't think they need saving) so tuna on salad would be good too. She is an excelent eater, loves veggies, but I was worried about her getting enough protein. Nuts, eggs and fish should...
  20. I have been gluten free for 3 months and it has changed my life! My fifteen year old daughter is having alot of stomach problems though. She tried the diet with me in the begining but didn't notice much change. Looking back we were messing up almost daily and she quit before I figured the diet out. I had her doctor run the celiac panel on her and it was negative...
  21. I think Wendy's took their french fries off their gluten-free list. There was a post on here a few weeks back about it. You might want to double check.
  22. Does anyone know if Laura Scudder's Ranch and Green Onion powder dip mixes are gluten free? I googled it and nothing came up and the company is closed for the weekend. The ingredients are: Buttermilk solids, dehydrated onions, salt, dextrose, dehydrated parsley, garlic powder, MSG, whey, hydrolized soy and corn gluten proteins, tricalcium phosphate...
  23. I have these dreams too! It was such a panicky feeling in my dream. I would be eating a sandwich or something like that and halfway through would remember that I can't have bread. I had one this week but I think it was because that day at a party I couldn't eat most of the food and I actually picked up a chip and dipped it in salsa that I knew I couldn't...
  24. Well here is the answer to my question about the chicken and rice soup. I read the ingredients and nothing obvious that I saw. That just reminds me to always assume its not ok. At least I am learning. I didn't eat it, but I now have 3 cans of it ...... Canned food drive here I come. Here is their response. "We received your message and appreciate...
  25. Does anyone know if the Campbells chicken and rice soup is gluten free? I found an old post from 2005 that someone said it was but I know things change often.
