  1. Exactly. A person recovering (healing) from celiac disease has a damaged intestine and has been starving for some time. As the gut heals, and begins to absorb nutrients again, it is important not to overload it by trying to eat too much at once. Eating small amounts, frequently, works well. Bingeing and fasting is counter-productive. If you have diagnosed...
  2. Yeah, why are you even here? You say you don't have celiac disease; you don't eat gluten-free; you don't want to hear any of the advice offered. This is a support site for people with celiac disease or gluten intolerance. Your fasting agenda, even if it is approved by Muhammad, does not have any relevance to us.
  3. Three is indeed a small sample. Twenty-five or so would have been better. The validity question also hinges on whether the samples were blind, or did the stores have any way of knowing that these were not random ordinary customers ordering the pizzas. You have a bit of an attitude on this, don't you? And not just this post. You seem somewhat obsessively...
  4. {{{Hug}}} {{{Hug}}} {{{Hug}}} See, I'm not really such a grouch after all.
  5. Funny. Well, actually not. There is a very serious discussion on this board about how Domino's is deliberately misrepresenting their product. If you had posted this in that topic, it might have provided comic relief. All it does as a topic on its own is distract. People who read this vacuous topic may skip the other one because they have already seen the...
  6. I was feeling (yes "feeling") bit left out of this. So I went walkabout here on Sesame Street without finding a lingerie shop. I went diving through the trash in my garbage can, but the only cups I found were empty ones from some place called "Starbucks." Does an "F cup" contain Frappuccino? Maybe a "G cup" has Gelato? To understand all of this, I...
  7. Let me see if I understand this. There are places that offer a pizza crust that does not have any gluten, but who are HONEST in telling us that the contamination risk is likely too high for those with celiac disease. The NFCA rates them "amber." We then slam them for being HONEST. While those of us with celiac disease probably can not safely eat...
  8. If I did that, I would starve to death. There is ALWAYS a possible chance of contamination. In everything. That's life. Careful I am--obsessed I am not.
  9. Coors Light is panther piss. Anyone who thinks it is beer is obviously suffering from neurological issues--brain fog--caused by gluten.
  10. Joe, you have a lot to say, in many topics here. But you never cite a source for your assertions. How do we know you are not just making things up? As I understand the rules here, you can express an opinion (noted as such), or can cite a valid source to justify a proven fact. You do neither. Perhaps you are still under the influence of gluten. Who knows?...
  11. Huh? Qu'est-ce que c'est, c'est "crap?" There is no "crap" in my trash can. What crap are you referring to?
  12. Good luck with that. The dietary rules you questioned do not require anyone to eat wheat, or any other gluten source. It is a set of rules listing permitted and prohibited foods. Gluten may be eaten--or not--it is the individual's personal choice.
  13. The statements attributed to the doctor are consistent with generally accepted knowledge. Your insult is uncalled for, IMO.
  14. I heard something about that too. Apparently it is distributed by the Easter Bunny, with out-of-season back-up from the Tooth Fairy. In December, Santa Claus helps out, too. It is a fantasy. Stick to the gluten-free diet. It works for me.
  15. It is not my intent to mock anyone. But this form of question recurs over and over. There is always someone who responds that, whatever the product is, they react to it. I annoys me when someone: Replies to such a question saying they react, but never respond to questions about their reaction; or, Posts once in a drive-by attack on a product and...
  16. Harrumph! Does anybody react to XXXXX? YYYYY? ZZZZZ? I react to water. You know, dihydrogen monoxide--H2O. When I accidentally inhale it, I have a coughing fit. OMG! I react to water--water MUST contain gluten. I KNOW it FOR SURE! No matter what you ask about, there is somebody who has a problem with it--real or imagined. Doesn't mean you...
  17. Hmmm. Vaccines. Evil? Smallpox was deadly. It has been eradicated worldwide. How? Vaccines. Polio used to cripple many young people. It no longer does. Why? Vaccines. Rubella (German Measles) used to cause birth defects when pregnant women were infected. No more. Why? Vaccinations. Mumps used to be a common childhood disease, but caused serious...
  18. Geez, Louise--a thought provoking question, but one for which I have no answer. The choices are limited. I can eat food without obvious gluten ingredients. Hmm. "Obvious" ingredients. I don't eat these. I know obvious gluten when I see it. I am not stupid, just grouchy. What about those companies which will never hide or obscure gluten ingredients...
  19. If there is a common understanding here, it is that sensitivity levels vary. Steph and Shauna are at one extreme end of the scale. Their experiences are their own, and may not be applicable to the majority of us. I was very sick for years, and had Marsh IV villous atrophy. I have since recovered completely, and more recent tests show intact villi. I...
  20. Gin might work, too.
  21. I have learned in my time reading here, that there are wide variances in what people like when it comes to gluten-free baked products. Boston Pizza uses Kinnikinnick crusts, and I have also tried them at home. They are not the thin, crisp pizzas I once enjoyed (while not knowing they were slowly killing me), but they are pretty good in my opinion. Baking...
  22. Well, it certainly is a lot of "information."
