ARCHIVED 'Gluten' dog keeps Mo. student healthy - UPI.com
Oscar replied to Scott Adams's topic in Publications & Publicity
I found some interesting links related to this. Maybe the idea of gluten-sniffing service dogs isn't crazy after all. A discussion here from 2008. Another one from almost a year ago. Open Original Shared Link -
ARCHIVED Amazing Self Administered Gluten / Soy Test
Oscar replied to Tom2's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm putting this idea in the same group as the inexpensive lawyer and the honest politician. Or, as Mr. Roarke would say, "Welcome to Fantasy Island." -
ARCHIVED A Miracle?!? - Change In My Reaction To Gluten
Oscar replied to lucia's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
My own grouchy thoughts are pretty much the same as that. -
ARCHIVED Hydrolyzed Linseed Extract
Oscar replied to Gogol's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Linseed is an alternative name for common flax. Flax is gluten-free. Hydrolization doesn't change that. -
Home tests are fun. But how reliable are they? Proper testing involves carefully controlled circumstances, control testing of known negatives, and so forth. For all I know, a home test could falsely react to an apple. Rum is not made from grain. How it could contain gluten is beyond my comprehension.

So, I took a poll here where I am among myself and the other denizens of of the locus. All the others said, "frequently none of the above apply and so we are going to bed." I'm dumb enough to still be pecking at a keyboard to say, "who gives a s**t?" Anybody got a gluten-free cookie? Oh, wait, wrong Muppet.

Quinoa is a food that most of us were not familiar with before our celiac disease diagnosis. Many of us with celiac disease have other food intolerances, so an intolerance to quinoa is certainly possible. I like it as an alternative to rice in various recipes.

I wonder, if we took a poll about taking polls, how many of us would be in favor of taking polls? I don't personally like multiple choice questions, since frequently the answer I want to give is not one of the options offered.

ARCHIVED Just Got Fecal Test Report Back, I'm Allergic To Everything?
Oscar replied to vawksel's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Has anyone ever had a negative result from Enterolab? Just asking. -
Sarah ain't playing with a full deck. She does have the Joker, for sure. She will spread her misinformation to anyone who will read it, and there is really nothing we can do about it. The internet is full of sites that are full of SH*T and this is obviously one of them.

ARCHIVED Questions About Peanut Butter And Olives
Oscar replied to UpbeatPete's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Olives are good, whether green (like me) or black. I enjoy green ones with a splash of vermouth and ample gin. -
ARCHIVED We All Get Discrimination From Normal People !
Oscar replied to Karl Otto's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I think I must be missing something here. Please help me. What is a "normal" person? Is he male? Is she short? Do they have red hair? Is their skin dark in color? Are they left-handed? Do they speak Swahili? Are they vegetarian? Do they believe in God? Please help me understand what "normal" is so I can figure out if I am normal... -
ARCHIVED Discussion On Why We Are Gluten Intolerant?
Oscar replied to Dr. B's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
My biopsy found Marsh 4 damage to my villi. If autoimmune attacks were not the cause, can you tell me what was? I went on a completely gluten-free diet, and my villi recovered as confirmed by a second biopsy a few years later. Something destroyed the islet cells in my pancreas. Were they diseased, or were they healthy cells attacked by an autoimmune response... -

She stuffed him into my can and is making me sit on the lid to keep him inside. Hereabouts, any drain from within the building goes to the sanitary sewer. You don't know what somebody might let go of in the garage when nobody is looking. Always make sure that the traps in all your drains have enough water. You don't want vapoUrs from down there... -

Oscar replied to TriticusToxicum's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I only come here from time to time. Today I said something in a serious thread, which upset my delicate equilibrium, so I had to do something psilly to restore my balance. Wot I have in my can is for me to know. If you are wondering, ask Nikki to go to the Tower and ask the Yeoman Warder Beefeater about it. -

Are you talking about GMO and Monsanto? Because if you are, I think you should say so openly. And the same goes for Arcadia. Express an opinion, but don't hide behind sneaky attempts to imply identity.

Been changing clocks. When you consider all of the things that know what time it is, the list is long. I am fastidious when it comes to detail, so I set everything accurate (digital) to the exact second, and some analog things have a second hand. I have done about 40 resets and there are a couple left. This is an experimental voyage in Apple Safari... -
Hmm. Some of us are, perhaps, not as real as the rest.

It has been a while since I have visited the psillies. There are new phaces, and some pholks seem to be missing. Where are Suzie and Manda? I hope they are well. A possibly phunny observation for Sunday evening: To a pessimist, the glass is half-empty. To an optimist, the glass is half-full. To a psilly, more wodka is defintely needed. -
Well, it is Monday so another week of the same old, same old is beginning. Harumph!
