  1. Bistango is an amazing Italian Restaurant!!!! If my memory serves me, it is at 28th and 3rd... gluten-free bread, pasta and anything on the menu can be made gluten-free. Excellent service and very safe...
  2. i just ordered a bunch more... it could be coincidental that i'm coming up on 5 months gluten free and just feeling much better b/c of time, but increasing my soluble fiber intake can't really be a bad thing. so many of the gluten-free products are low in fiber anyway, so i think it's a win-win situation. try it out and let me know how you do with it...
  3. as a side note.... i've heard that Trix is gluten free also. does anyone know why they've decided not to label this on the box?
  4. agreed. NOW foods has a great variety of excellent supplements and all are clearly labeled for you to determine if they are safe to use!
  5. ok, so i was diagnosed in 11/07 and have been gluten free since the beginning of December. i was symptomatic and misdiagnosed for many years. i am now coming up on five months adhering very strictly to the diet (with occasional cc here and there). i know i had substantial villi damage due to the length of time that i was still unknowingly celiac and exposing...
  6. clearly General Mills realizes there is a much larger market for this than they initially thought. kudos to them for reacting in such a proactive manner. now EVERYONE can eat these two cereals, not just everyone except us gluten freeeaks
  7. hey glow.... i typically work very long hours and have a long commute home from work, so i'm always looking for something quick to make for dinner. i like to make big batches of white rice to leave in the fridge to add to meals at any time (minute rice in the microwave is cheap, fast and easy). one of my favorite quick meals requires 3 ingredients...

    ARCHIVED Eating Out

i've also had a few great experiences at the bonefish grill in brick, nj. excellent food, and they even made me the lemon drop martini with chopin vodka. yum. the saucy shrimp is soooooooooo good.
  9. yup, i had commented on this a few months back when i called Wyeth to inquire first about Advil, but then about all of their products that i might use... i had just been diagnosed and was using Centrum at the time. I switched over to Nature Made shortly thereafter, who clearly labels their vitamins as free of gluten. Open Original Shared Link
  10. you are correct. la choy soy sauce is safe for us to consume, however it is not the best tasting soy sauce around. it's not made with wheat like real soy sauce, it is mostly colors and flavorings. not bad for cooking at home, but i wouldn't use it with sushi.
  11. yeah i didn't think there was much danger of glutening, but since i've been gluten-free (since december) i've only been drinking bacardi rum, captain morgan, tequila or potato vodka. i'm excited to make martinis with potato vodka and limoncello now. talk about strong, yummy drink! see ya around
  12. Attached below is the email correspondence with Villa Massa, regarding a bottle of Limoncello that I've had sitting in my freezer for months for fear of gluteny! Looks like I should drink up!! Just wanted to share -------------------------------------------- From: Amalia Ricciardelli Sent: Monday, April 14, 2008 4:36 AM Subject: Gluten Ingredients...
  13. i've noticed that quinoa, while very good for you, is extremely high in insoluble fiber which can cause some tummy upset. i've felt a little uncomfortable after eating too much of it... a bit gassy and "going" more frequently on the following day. you just have to find the right balance of how much your body can tolerate, especially this soon into the diet...
  14. thanks for sharing.... here is a listing of all of the brands in the sara lee family of products. Open Original Shared Link
  15. hello... welcome to the forum. so i play volleyball competitively and i also do some weight training... i will definitely say that my tummy always feels worse after i spend all day playing ball at a volleyball tournament. also, i've noticed that my symptoms are worse when i work out at the gym in the evening... both weights and cardio. i wish i could tell...
  16. ahhhhh bought TWO boxes at target last night.... had to be careful because the old boxes were right next to the new ones! but i'm so happy, and i'm having my first bowl with almond milk right now. yum! so nice to be able to get a good cereal in a normal size box for only $2.50ish. major props to general mills!
  17. thanks! just picked up some Now Foods slippery elm capsules at my local health food store this weekend. they didn't have the marshmallow root though... i'll have to order that online thanks for the tip!
  18. pretty incredible.... so my doctor wanted to do a capsule endoscopy in order to officially rule out my crohn's diagnosis from 14 years ago.... however, my insurance carrier (AETNA) denied it..... isn't that nice? they are still appealing it, but i think it would be valuable to see the extent of the damage that my untreated celiac had on my insides for...
  19. i've read on this board before that Phazyme softgels are gluten free. i've also used them sporadically in the past without any problems. the difference between Phazyme and Beano is that you take Phazyme when you are already feeling gassy/bloaty, as opposed to before. it provides a good amount of relief though....
  20. Hi all... I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 11/07 after being symptomatic for approx. 14 years. I've been on the gluten free diet for close to four months now, and while I'm feeling better, I know I still have a lot of healing to do. I've heard lots of positive things about the gut healing qualities of slippery elm bark and marshmallow root. i'd like...
  21. so i had dinner at a wonderful little surprise in ft. lauderdale this weekend... the restaurant is called sublime and it is 100% natural, organic, and vegetarian. i am usually a huge fan of meat being a staple in my dinner, but we gave this a shot and it was delicious. i was pleasantly surprised to see the letters (gluten-free) next to a number of items...
  22. hello there.... i started using the centrum advanced formula multivitamin right around when i was diagnosed in november 07. i was taking it for a few weeks when i called wyeth to ask about a few of their products... sure enough they gave me the same story about how they were testing and couldn't guarantee that the advanced formula was gluten free. with...
  23. so i am in orlando for a conference for work from sunday thru thursday.... was excited to see that so many places on the disney properties are so accommodating for gluten free diners.... anyway, i went to shula's steak house at the WDW Dolphin hotel.........wow, great meal and they were very understanding of the gluten free deal. the server even came...
  24. i called Wyeth in January, and they confirmed that all Advil pain relievers are gluten free (also Advil Cold & Sinus). i play competitive volleyball and take Advil regularly only when I am playing to keep my ailing shoulder from tightening up.... and i've never had a problem.
  25. i called wyeth a while ago to ask about advil, chapstik, and a few other products and posted what i heard here: Open Original Shared Link they said that all chapstik products are gluten free
