Hi Mya! I know it can feel like your brain is absolutely swimming when you first start this diet. Despite a teeny bit of lack of support, the VAST MAJORITY of this forum goes by the motto: "No question is too stupid to ask...... we have all travelled down the same road......" So ask away! I feel a little bit guilty - perhaps it was... -

Hi Robin, When you start your gluten-free diet, do you also cut out caffeine at the same time? That would cause one doozie of a headache...... Also, have you tried going lactose free? Quite often, until the villi have returned, we celiacs are not able to digest lactose, and it causes us MAJOR problems.... I hope other people on this board... -

Hi Kaiti, I checked - I had used the icing (Thank God!). I had just done trimming with it. But I won't be using Betty Crocker at all in the future. Duncan Hines is now the way to go! Thanks for looking out for me! You're awesome! btw, today was my first day with the prednisone. 6 tablets this morning.... I can report that I am... -

Hi Kaiti: I checked again on Delphi - down below is the list copying Betty Crocker. I know there was one bottle found containing wheat starch, but that was "non pareils", whatever that is........ I checked the ones I used, they are fine..... I am going to call the 1-800 number on Monday to clarify....... Betty Crocker non pareils: ... -

Chocolate cake with chocolate icing!!!! I am making one this weekend. I made one about a month ago and I was in heaven. It reaffirmed to me that gluten-free really isn't all that bad - we can still have our treats..... I use El Peto Chocolate Cake Mix which is gluten free, wheat free, milk free. It is so easy to make too - just mix and bake... -

Hi celiac3270, Glad to hear you are going to this conference and will be posting back to us. I would like to know if the medical establishment is going to be more "combined" with regard to celiac disease and all the related conditions and diseases that go along with it. When I mentioned to my family doctor that I would like to go to a specialist... -

Personally, I love Kinnikinnick english muffins. They are delicious! You could make some really good "McMuffin style" sandwiches for him. They are also thick enough that they can double as a hamburger bun. Maybe think about investing in a bread machine. That way, you can "personalize" the breads that you make for him, to his preferences.... Also... -

Okay, here the prescription: Prednisone 5 mg. Take 6 tablets at one time once daily for one week. Next week take 5 tablets for one week. Next week take 4 tablets for one week. Next week take 3 tablets for one week. Next week take 2 tablets for one week. Next week take 1 tablet for one week. Then continue with the one budesonide per day after that... -

Hi celiac3270! Yep, all those are possibilities, except the silverware drawer - I'm fanatical about that, it's cleaned almost every day! When we have dinner, 9 times out of 10 Terry isn't home yet - he usually gets home around 7 - 7:30 p.m. - and I don't have a hope in heck of getting the kids to wait that long!!! It sure would make my life... -

That reminds me of something else that happens quite often: Scenario: I am preparing my dinner while the kids are eating theirs.... My hands are full of some goop or another, and..... Phone rings....... Oldest daughter Eileen answers it as it is right next to the kitchen table... only problem is: She is eating a donut or piece of... -

Hi Laura, That's exactly the way he has me taking it. I can't remember the exact doses, as I gave the prescription to my husband this morning to go get it filled. But it is on a weekly decrease. He also wants me to continue taking the budesonide, one per day, at the end of the prednisone, to "maintain" it...... Kaiti, To be totally honest... -

Hi Carrie, I also eat Humpty Dumpty potatoe chips exclusively.... The reason I do is because of the fact that there have been so many references to cross contamination in the Lays. But I didn't know there was also cross contamination with Humpty Dumpty. Potatoe chips are my main snack...... I would absolutely love it if that was the source, but...
