  1. I watched/read that this morning. It is interesting. But think of this, the body has many amazing ways of dealing with "invaders" whether they be bacteria/virus/fungi/toxins. One way the body reacts is to completely surround the "invader" with tissue....i.e. forms a cyst or tumor. I think cancer can be caused by many triggers. Not just fungi. ...
  2. All insurances suck from what I can tell...I have had Aetna and Blue Cross/Blue Shield (current). Sometimes they pay for things and other times they dont. FOR THE SAME THING!!!! Like lab work.....
  3. We rescue Great Danes. Rescue work is very rewarding once you get past the anger and sadness. Great Danes are the worlds cutest puppies and people buy them because of this. Then that cute "little" puppy weighs 100 pounds in 6 months and has completely destroyed your hardwood floors, broken grandmas 100 year old vase and knocked the baby over too many times...
  4. Kombucha....it tastes nasty. I couldnt get past the taste.....
  5. You can get a "second opinion" by testing with Enterolab. Get the genetic tests too.

    ARCHIVED Sublingual B12 Vs Benfotiamine

You do not need to worry about "vitamin intoxication" with most of the B vitamins including B12 and Thiamine. B6 can cause issues at very high doses over an extended period of time. The majority of B vitamins just get "peed" out if the body doesnt need them. She should be on a good balanced B (with all of the B vitamins) along with extra sublingual B...
  7. Try "Magnesium Oil" rubbed on the skin. It gets in there fast without taking a pill.

    ARCHIVED Please Help ---nerve Pain

This can help: Benfotiamine It is a dietary supplement. Comes in pills. But you can try it transdermally as well: Open Original Shared Link
  9. If you took a multi with Vit A and K before the test...it could skew it. You should stop taking your multi and retest in a few weeks.
  10. The tests will be inaccurate now. Some say you have to eat a fair amount of gluten EVERYDAY for 3 or 4 months for the tests to MAYBE come out positive. You have your answer. Congratulations!!!
  11. Pamela's makes a good basic yellow cake mix.
  12. Did you take a big ol multi-vitamin before the test? Are you taking cod liver oil? Eat a lot of liver? Tons of green leafy vegetables till they are coming out your ears?
  13. This one is good: Open Original Shared Link But you can get some great FREE recipes here: I use a lot of these: Open Original Shared Link

    ARCHIVED Sibo

abx=antibiotics I agree that antibiotics will only be a temporary fix and can result in more problems. I would go natural FIRST. Save abx as a last resort.
  15. If ALL of the tests for Celiac come back negative, she could still have it. I know this stinks, but in children under 6 the tests are extremely unreliable. If it were me, I would keep her on gluten and get the biopsy. If things come back positive, well there is no question what you must do. But if they all come up negative, I would do a 3 month...
  16. I will agree with Tim. The first week can be deceptive. Likely a lot of water weight and some could easily come back. From here on out, you should not lose more than 1-2 pounds a week. If you do, then add a few more carbs in (although 140 carbs a day is NOWHERE near Atkins, nor too restrictive). I find that if I eat more than 30 carbs at one sitting...
  17. You need a good SCD cookbook. I bought three of them. Some great recipes. For GREAT calories, make some SCD legal muffins. They are made with almond flour and are quite yummy. My whole family loves them. Yes, red meat typically has more fat. But try to buy organic, free range and grass fed if you can. Choose fatty fish like salmon.
  18. Sorry hon...they are not gluten free.
  19. First of all Welcome. You are CELIAC based on the bloodwork alone. It is EXTREMELY rare to have a false positive and some say it isnt possible at all. All positives are positive. You have symptoms and you have positive labs. Here is the rub. Even when you think you do not react to gluten, your body is waging a horrible war inside of you. If...
  20. Some people with Celiac disease show no improvement on the gluten-free diet. The condition is called unresponsive celiac disease. The most common reason for poor response is that small amounts of gluten are still present in the diet. Or the damage can also be so severe that it may not heal very well. Does she eat out? This could be a major source of...
  21. The Answer is YES to ALL four of your questions. Many Celiacs have to eliminate Dairy for a few months so they can heal the tips of the villi that digest milk products. This could help you a lot!
  22. I use Healthcheckusa and DirectLabs. Call. Healthcheck is usually cheaper. But DirectLabs seems to offer more tests. If you look on their website, you might not see a Celiac panel. But if you all, they have it.
  23. Same for me. Tired and starving. The hunger died down for me after about 6 weeks. I lost about 5 pounds. But have since put it back on. I didnt need to lose it!
  24. Nuts and fruits are my standby.
  25. Amen!!!
