  1. Whenever you are on T3 (Cytomel or Armour) your TSH will be suppressed. Mine has been fully suppressed for over a year. I feel horrible otherwise. My doctor ignores the TSH and looks at the FREE T3 and Free T4. And for me, my FREE T3 has to be slightly over normal for me to feel well. Your doctor should be assessing your symptoms and not just your...
  2. You could also eat all of the foods that block thyroid: Broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, brussel sprouts, millet. Eat the veggies raw to block the most thryoid hormone.
  3. I cannot say if I have Hashi's because my tests were neg for antibodies. However, my Mom tested neg for antibodies for years and when they removed her thyroid, they found out why. There wasnt much left of the organ to attack. Not everyone shows antibodies unfortunately.
  4. Are you limiting yourself because of multiple intolerances? Or because you just dont know any other types of foods? Why just salmon? Why not cod, flounder, grouper, mahi mahi?? Shrimp? Scallops? Mussels?? Clams? Turkey? Beef? Pork? FRUIT???? Other gluten-free mixes: muffins, breads, brownies, etc. Eggs? Veggie omlets?
  5. I have heard MANY horror stories with RAI. As I know people heal from this disease. Stay positive.
  6. Egg yolks, butter, beef liver all have good levels of natural vitamin D. Have you tried cod liver oil? Sorry you are having trouble. I hope you feel better soon.
  7. Yes and kelp/iodine can aggravate Hashimotos. So do be careful.
  8. Im doing a little research for you Leslie. The main bacteria in there is: baccilus. subtilis While it is not considered a human pathogen; it may contaminate food and can cause food poisoning. It has a natural fungicidal activity (Might you have Candida???? And your reactions were a constant low level "die off") The enzymes it produces are...
  9. I take their digestive enzymes without issues. You know their whole deal is helping people with intolerances (especially gluten). So there is a possibility that you were reacting to something else in them. I hope work stays stable for you Leslie. Try not to stress about what could happen and focus on each day, one day at a time.
  10. I like the flakes for breakfast sometimes. I mix almond butter and stevia in it. Tasty.
  11. Generally blood transfusions are given to save a life. If my life needs to be saved, I will take the blood that is available (celiac or no). A glutening would be bad......but not compared to the alternative.
  12. I have nothing to add Meline, except, I hope you feel better soon.
  13. You dont have to rinse the flakes. I tried the banana muffin recipe on the box of flakes and they were gross.
  14. Taco salad shells are usually made from wheat flour. They are different than "taco" shells. I know because I used to be addicted to them. So light and airy and crispy fried and pale. Nothing like corn.
  15. Ah yes...it has a saponin coating which is a natural soapy substance that keeps the bugs off of it naturally. I just run under water in a strainer for a few minutes.
  16. Thyroid disorders/Diabetes/Insulin Resistance go hand and hand with Celiac/Gluten Intolerance. I am hypothryoid and doing well on Armour.
  17. I felt bad for the first month, but then started feeling better. Things healed that I wasnt aware of that was a problem. So dont be surprised if things like your skin looks better, etc. after awhile. Or you have more energy, but didnt realize you were fatigued before. I def. went through withdrawal. And had GI symptoms when my main symptoms are neurological...
  18. It does have a slightly earthy taste. I like to make mine with chicken broth rather than water. Or I make taboule with it. In other words, add some spices and flavorings to it. It passed my family test for good taste. So no need to fear.
  19. If it were me and I was watching my baby waste away, then I would try the diet. It will not hurt and could help. Wheat is not what we need for good nutrition anyway. There are so many healthy foods. Meats, veggies and fruits. My daughter loves veggies when most of her friends wont touch them. She got them from the get go. Start em young and they will...
  20. You can add a small amount of almond meal or hazelnut meal (Bob's sells it). Like up to 1/3 of the flour in a recipe. More fiber. I also add some ground Chia seeds to my baking for more fiber and nutrition.
  21. Perfectly safe. I love it!
  22. Im actually feeling quite good today!! Two portions of soaked grains and all is well. I only soak them overnight, then drain, rinse and put in fridge till I cook them. Not a lotta fermentation going on. And if the grains are "alive" they should start to "sprout" and not "ferment". Old rancid grains would "ferment" no doubt. I have been supp...
  23. Are you certain you are not getting ANY gluten from anywhere? Old scratched pots and pans, wooden spoons, cutting boards, toaster, etc. Lotions, shampoo, lipstick, etc. Cross Contamination from others that use your kitchen or at work? Eating out? If you are certain that there is no way gluten is getting in, then you may have to eliminate dairy...
  24. I use digestive enzymes too. They have helped me a lot with my digestion. Right now I take Digest Gold. It covers everything. Soaking the rice made it quite tasty and seemed to digest much better. Tonight it is soaked quinoa.
  25. Try not to be too hard on yourself. We all make mistakes. You can correct it now and move on. I hope you feel better soon.
