  1. Hey, I just tried that the other day. I used almond milk and added some basil and oregano. My daughter loved it. Oh and I changed the flours to make it healthier. For the 3/4 cup cornstarch I used: 1/4 cup cornstarch 1/4 cup sorghum 1/4 cup Bob's gluten-free flour mix and 2 tsp. ground flax
  2. My sister is on her way home from shopping(2 1/2 hour drive) so I asked her to stop by for lunch. I threw (recipe is so fast you really can throw it ) the casserole in the oven using the brown rice...I will let you know later how it turned out...gotta go make some fresh rice tortillas now for her to try too... Ok, the results... I baked it exactly...
  3. Look at the bright side...at least they would smell good
  4. If you haven't found a good recipe for it yet, try the one I posted on July 23rd. You can eat a whole loaf when it comes out of the oven (small loaf that is ) I converted it from too much sugar then to be gluten free and it tastes like the original recipe
  5. I was wondering the same thing. I want to make this again soon and try it with brown rice. We ate almost the whole casserole for lunch...no leftovers I would add a bit more water and maybe add a little more cooking time. You could check it to see if the rice is not done and the water has absorbed, then just sprinkle on more water as needed.
  6. I finally had time to check out some recipes on the following web sites. There are some good ones to try especially for those with multiple food allergies. Open Original Shared Link Being a muffin/cookie fan and my dd is doing a vegan diet, I want to try the buckwheat chocolate chip cookies and the pumpkin berry muffins. How about those strawberry...
  7. You are so FUNNY
  8. My dd had this several times over the last 3 years. The 1st doc tested her stools for parasites...nothing. Two years later(this year) the new doc wasn't concerned too much. She was diagnosed allergic to gluten then and he gave her an herb saying it was a possible parasite. It cleared up until just last month when she was under extreme stress. I think it...
  9. I just posted a rice and bean casserole. It should freeze well. Divide into smaller portions before freezing if needed. I freeze spaghetti/lasagna (rice pasta) pizza, enchiladas and chili for my daughter all the time into serving sized portions. I make batches of meat and freeze small amounts so she can make tacos/nachos, sloppy joes in her apartment. Muffins...
  10. I found this recipe last night in my recipe box so I thought I would try it since it sounded so easy. I got it from a Western Family recipe card that I got in the store years ago. Its really easy and good! I don't know if the Western Family products are gluten-free but just your own gluten-free ones. This can be gluten-free/egg free/meat free/nut free/soy...
  11. Here is a very good book: "The Maker's Diet" by Jordan Rubin On p.11, he states that he had the highest level possible of yeast overgrowth among his other symptoms... He almost died. His cure was dirt- Homeostatic organisms. (on p.26) He got sick in college eating all that junk. He was 6' and went from 180 to 111lbs. www.makersdiet.com
  12. Under "Products", there is a thread called "nut/peanut free gluten-free flours". It might help with your Q.
  13. I feel really bad for you. My only suggestion is: buy her a book on Celiac, then its her choice to read it or not. She wont understand until she understands what Celiac is.
  14. I don't know what is offered at the store, mine is old, but be sure to get one where the crock removes from the heat source. Easier to wash and also to slip into the fridge. Just a thought.
  15. You are my kinda chocolate lover, thanks for the tip
  16. I used to follow this: A woman needs about 2000 calories per day, a little more sometimes and less if you're not very active(depends on the person) She should not safely lose more than 2 lbs. per week. If you cut down to 1500 calories per day, that equals 7x500=3500 calories or 1 lb. Throw in some exercise and you will healthy-wise lose 1-2 lb...
  17. Ha Ha! But Rachelle.....they have oats in them and these new ones have peanut butter....better for you than a sugar cookie or a chocolate chipper. Don't forget to put a bag in the freezer for a rainy day. Fast way to hide them
  18. gluten-free Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies 1 cup butter, softened 3/4 cup white sugar 3/4 cup brown sugar 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs 1/3 cup baking cocoa 2 cups gluten-free flour (I use Carol's Blend, below) 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. xanthan gum 1 cup gluten-free peanut butter or chocolate chips or 1...
  19. My sister deals with bad breath very often. I think she might be allergic to gluten, it doesn't run in the family. She got Candida 17 years ago when she was pregnant. It only bothers her a little every few years. I say all that to say this weird experience she had a few months back. She was talking to a neighbor and there were flying insects all around...
  20. This is a motto I taught my day care kids years ago. (Using finger motions) "Let it go in your ear and out the other ear, if you let it go in your ear and out your mouth, then a fight starts" It helps with a lot of problems a person can have through out the day Someone told me once, maybe the persons mother just died, so be careful...
  21. I am a chocolate lover too You could try a magnesium supplement to curb your chocolate craving. What about the extremely...extra dark...plain...chocolate...does it bother you?
  22. My 2 cents... I had a day care for 9 years, before I ever heard of the word Celiac. I only ever had 1 allergy problem-lactose. It was a slight problem but the child was 6 and told me what she could/couldn't have. If you choose daycare, the help needs to know all about cc. They might not get it and your dd is too young to tell them. Maybe she could wear...
  23. You are welcome and thanks for the Pamela's tips...I'm gonna get me somma dat
  24. YES Here is the list. Ingredients: spices, (including chili pepper), enriched wheat flour, (flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate, riboflavin, and folic acid), onion, salt, maltodextrin, sugar, garlic, paprika, and extractives of cumin. I will make my own from now on. Here is the recipe I use. I either got it from here or from Recipezaar...
  25. No, and my dd is only mildly allergic to gluten, not a Celiac, thanks for your concern
