  1. Someone recently posted what to try. I think they said to bake it longer and cover it with foil or reduce the oven temp if it starts to get too brown. Possibly the bread is rising too fast, that happened to me once. Maybe some one else could help, I don't bake much bread. The Quickie Flax bread that is posted on here a couple of pages back is really easy...
  2. I recently switched chili seasoning brands to McCormick w/o thinking to check it until I got home. Also, FYI, Durkee brand has wheat too. The mild chili mix has wheat. I will be making 3 pots of chili today 1) no wheat-dd 2) no meat-dd 3) for me/dh to eat with wheat and meat to use up the McCormicks, then I'll go back to using the homemade...

  9. You could make peanut butter frosting if not allergic. Here is the recipe but I have not used it in years so I don't remember how much it makes, prob for a 9x13: Peanut Butter Frosting 1/2 pound of powdered sugar(just dump some in and taste test the frosting) 2 T. margarine or butter 1/4 cup peanut butter milk as needed Try switching the margarine...
  10. I have never used Pamela's mix before. Rachelle could give you expert advice. From what she has posted before, I would say yes. But...she also uses less fat(butter) when she uses Pamela's as a replacement for regular gluten-free flour mix, I think b/c of the almond flour in the mix. I suggest that you cut the recipe in 1/2 and try it with using less butter...
  11. Carol's Flour Blend 1 1/2 cups sorghum flour 1 1/2 cups potato starch or cornstarch 1 cup tapioca flour I have used Bette Hagmans' Featherlite mix before with this recipe but I can't remember how they turned out. I am sure most any gluten-free flour mix would work. Open Original Shared Link has all the gluten-free flours and the oats....
  12. gluten-free Chewy Chocolate Oat Chip Cookies 1 cup butter, softened 1 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup white sugar 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 2 T. water 1/2 cup baking cocoa 1 1/4 cups gluten-free flour mix (I use Carol's sorghum blend) 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. xanthan gum 1/4 cup dry instant chocolate pudding 2 cups Bob's gluten-free oats...
  13. You can find small cans of tuna, salmon, sardines and chicken at Walmart. And some pouches too.
  14. Muffins cut in 1/2, spread with pb and j and sandwiched together. Cookies with pb and sandwiched together. Fruit salad. Yogurt parfait- fruit, nuts and yogurt layered in a plastic freezer cup with a tight fitting lid (look in the canning container section at Walmart). Refried bean dip with veggies stirred in or on top with gluten-free tortilla chips. Salmon...
  15. A friend told me her heart did that when she went through menopause- related to the thyroid. I tried to read up on it b/c mine acts like Amyleigh0007. Sometimes it goes a week without beating funny. Anyway I read somewhere that you can have a reaction to Phenylalanine...its an amino acid. Something to add to the list.
  16. I used to count calories years ago. I remember that watermelon and green beans were very low. I ate them all the time.
  17. I have a box of it but have been scared to try it. Now I will, thanks for the tip. There is a recipe for pie crust too...Have you tried it? I see the ingredients are millet, garbonzo, brown rice and x-gum(I call xanthan that for short).
  18. I make the pizza crust from Bette Hagamn's book called "The Gluten Free Gourmet Cooks Fast and Healthy" I saw the recipe posted on here too but I forgot where. I make an extra crust. Bake it about 12 minutes. Let it cool, flip it out of the pan to cool the bottom of it. Then wrap and freeze it. Then another day its ready, just thaw it, top and bake until...
  19. Read the thread on here called "Quick , Easy, & Tasty Recipes" for some good ideas. Also under the topic "Friends and Loved Ones" there is a thread called "Lunch Ideas".
  20. How about my dd favorite who hates to cook: Layered bean dip...stir 1 T. of McCormick taco seasoning into 1 can of gluten-free refried beans, then spread into a pie plate. Top with all your favorites. If you like homemade guacamole then spread it on the beans and cover it with salsa or sour cream(prevents it from turning brown), sprinkle on green onions...
  21. Great tip...I used to do that with Rhodes frozen bread doughs. I forgot all about it...Thanks!
  22. Ditto...me too. I live an hour and 15 minutes from the store that carries Pamela's, so that copy cat recipe will help...thanks!
  23. My 19 yr old had all the symptoms of endometriosis, extreme pms. That is why we took her to the doc. He put her on complex vitamin B with magnesium. Said, take one everyday and 2 the week before your period and during it. You need vitamin B12 and magnesium and probable calcium too.
