  1. i bought some progesterone cream- but not sure when i'll start taking it, cause of thyroid meds, and i MAY go on Orthocyclen soon.. QUESTION- have any of you used the progesterone cream for fibrocystic breasts? and did it alleviate it?
  2. my ttg iga & igg were both "weak positive". and my antigliadin were negative. but my endomysial was positive, and 2 yrs after those tests- i got DH, Hashimoto's and Graves.... so dont necessarily be fooled by your WEAK elevated numbers... what about the antigliadin & endomysial antibodies? and you might as well get a Total Iga Serum test too...
  3. thanku SO MUCH muffy!! i hope i wont be riding it out.. will be talking to my doc's nurse on monday.. and have 2 thyroid panels in the next 3 months. just so scared cause i dont understand it all yet. i still cant believe i have both- i mean what a pain the AAAAAAAAA

    ARCHIVED Ttg Test

oh, i have no idea how long it takes for them to go down, hopefully someone can better answer that for u. 36 is still high- and you'll want to get them even lower into the "negative" range of course... but from where you came from- it looks like you're doing something right! hope they continue to go down! u might want to limit your dairy & eat...
  6. thanku XXX ive been reading A LOT... and learning about which supplements can help, and how avoiding Soy & of course Wheat are a must. i just really hope i end up as a "best case scenario" which ive read would be when the Graves just flares up in the beginning then dies off while the patient progressively just remains with Hashimoto's Hypothyroid....
  7. meme: thanks 4 ur input- ur sit. sounds complicated too.. My tsh was 11.39 in oct. With my other numbers perfect mid range. Meds brought me down now to 2.44. Other numbers midrange. My TPO antib were 512. Another antib present in either hashi or graves was 185. And today they tell me the grave's antib were positive. No goiter. Dont know about nodules....
  8. thanks. ya, im positive on all 3 antibodies. so ive got them both my Endo is really great and open minded. tho i cant imagine how on earth you treat both at the same time- im really scared that my journey is never gonna get easy.. and ive already felt so bad for long enough.
  9. anybody have both of these??? yes, im back, upset, and here to lean on you guys for any helpful advice at all. im frankly scared, because im afraid im never gonna feel better. i basically have had hypo & hyper symptoms for at least 7 years now. just got dx with Hashi in October- i thought- GREAT- soon, we'll get the meds right and i will be finally...
  10. i dont know enough to really identify KP... but your pics look like they could be DH... i had a small patch on my stomach and it too seemed like i had a blister for every hair follicle!! mine didnt show up till i was already gluten free for 3 weeks... the rash stayed there for about 4 months. when i started applying an ionized silver ointment (natural antibiotic...
  11. YESSSSS it is totally the norm to become more sensitive to gluten after going gluten free. and yes- it IS worth it- u must remain gluten free. the thing is- maybe your noticeable symptoms are more sensitive since going gluten free.. but when it comes to villi damage- we cant monitor that everytime we eat gluten or by how bad our symptoms are. if you eat gluten...
  12. really? it's made from barley- and it's "gluten free"?? that would make me so nervous... ive never tried it. i did try my first gluten free beer the other night: Redbridge gluten-free beer (made with sorghum).. it was AWFUL just AWFUL... i couldnt finish it.. so i just went with Woodchuck Cider the rest of the night which is gluten-free & pretty delish
  13. they didnt test your Antigliadin antibodies. ALSO- they only tested your Iga antibodies.. and if you are Iga deficient- then all you Iga tests would be innacurate. Celiac and Gluten Intolerance can be very difficult to diagnose sometimes.. you may also have to consider that in the end, you may only have your body's signals to go off of.. and if...
  14. it really would be ****ing nice if we could have a food/medicine/gum product without a CORN BYPRODUCT
  15. sounds like you've researched and really have a grasp on all the information. and you've come to the right place- all the posts above are quite valuable. also wanted to throw it out there- that i have read in the past several months- that Candida has a similar structure to gluten or WGA (cant remember)... and that it can "trigger" Celiac. hope you get...
  16. sure! all your symptoms could be gluten related most definitely- but like above poster mentioned with Lyme disease (which i know nothing about)-> make sure you are also checking everything else. and like said above- a celiac blood panel will not be accurate if you've been gluten free. and yes- you dont have to get sick after every meal to have a...
  17. do u have any thyroid issues??? ive noticed a lot more flushing since i started medication, a few days where my forearms were red bumpy and on fire... idk- your thyroid i think can have a drastic effect on your iodine levels. it's just a guess really-> plus you said it got better when you were pregnant- and i think the thyroid slows down when you're pregnant...
  18. High Fructose Corn Syrup, High Maltose Corn Syrup, Dextrose, Corn Syrup Solids, Sorbitol.... um there's more i cant remember. i try to just avoid or severly limit anything from corn. there's probably more... like some powdered sugar has corn starch i think. idk.. i cant avoid it completely- cause it's in medication and my coffee creamer.. but i do my...
  19. hello again fellow Hashimoto's sufferers... 1st off, thankyou so much for providing so much comfort and information on here- i would be a mess without you all, seriously. so, i almost lost it tonight at the pharmacy. i'll try to be short. Right now, i'm on Synthroid Brand Name 50mcg ( i already called the company last week- they are gluten free...
  20. ok, so- i usually feel absolutely great with meat HOWEVER-> sometimes i dont: Red Meat- i feel great- BUT if it's "Well Done"- i burp for the rest of the night (ive read that when it's well done- there's like no enzymes left, and its much harder to digest) Chicken- sometimes doesnt sit well with me. Turkey & fish- great Pork- i AVOID. ...
  21. ok, so basically- i felt significantly better by month 2. BUT... i DO have additional food intolerances. i generally avoid corn, potatoes, high fructose fruits & veggies, peanuts & other legumes. i limit dairy kind of, and try to avoid soy. in short- i feel best very paleo. so, ya- removing gluten did not fix all my problems- but definitely most...
  22. ok, it is hard to read without ranges, and im not very good reading genes unless they're translated into "subtypes". but anyways, my best guess- is that your younger son has a DQ 2.5 ? this is a "classic" Celiac gene. and maybe the nurse just had a bad way of communicating- that your younger son had a Celiac gene but not the genes that ONLY suggest gluten...
  23. OOPS, yes, i meant negative maybe i cant watch tv, eat, and post on here at the same time
  24. ya, ive read this study before- and maybe it's a good statistic for europe- but i would not be surprised in the least if the rate is higher in the u.s. officially, i think the statistic in the u.s. is 1 in 133.. but i bet it's higher. i think our diet is worse, and i bet we have more "triggers" here.
  25. my mom takes GABA and loves it. ive only taken it maybe 2 times, and it was before i went to bed. i take L-Theanine as needed to relax... helps a little.
