  1. again, i thought all sorbitol was from corn???? i DO have issues with corn & excess fructose... so the more i avoid products with sorbitol- THE BETTER i feel.... but i do not believe it has gluten- i do not have gluten reactions to it- but more fructosy & fake fat & sugar reactions. its weird since going 100% gluten-free- how much more aware...
  2. agreed- dairy & corn could be messing her up. and of course we all here about celiac kids, and autistic kids avoiding Casein (in dairy) just the same as gluten. and i dont know about Bare Minerals.. but that Afterglow company i think makes powders like bare minerals- and they're Gluten Free.. and then Joelle makes all the lip stuff gluten free. good...
  3. thankyou you two for your support im really hoping when they call tomorrow with bloodwork results- that i'll know more and maybe get an apt with an endo earlier.... ???? i did in fact order Cytomel from overseas.... should be in in 2 weeks... but hopefully i can see a specialist soon. thankyou to everyone on here who listens to me, which helps...
  4. but i thought Sorbitol was from corn????? and now glucose can be derived from wheat?? im confused.. i also always felt good with nestle- cause they explicitly label on some choco chips and some coffee creamers "gluten free".
  5. hi fellow Hypo friends... i had my 1st follow up with GP today... and (she's very nice)- but she was not really following my integrative discussion about my symptoms. ive been on Synthroid 50mcg for 7 weeks now- and i can honestly tell everyone of you- that NONE of my Hypo symptoms have improved (and ive got a list of like 20). plus, on top of that-...
  6. i had a small patch on my stomach below my navel- it only showed up after i went gluten free... to me, it really seems as if it was part of a detox.. anyways, i had it for about 4 months-> it wasnt too bad, and i wanted it to stick around so i could show my Gi. then i started putting an Ionized Silver ointment on it- it calmed the itch right away and...
  7. my family has made meatballs twice since i went full gluten-free... using millet toast crumbles the first time, and Rudi's gluten-free bread the 2nd time- DELISH ya, i know it's upsetting. i really love the show: Diners, Drivin ins, and Dives... and i also LOVE diner food- but if you watch- those people are throwing in Flour, and Barley ALL THE TIME...
  8. sue- this is all great info for me. i think im like you. the first week i was on synthroid- 50mcg- i had some palpitations. ive also had a little more anxiety. but all my hyposymptoms ive had for 5 years have NOT improved at all.... QUESTION- with taking your T3 2x a day- how do you deal with food and meds/vitamins??? with the Synthroid, i take it...
  9. thanks, ive already been studying it all for weeks, cause i feel like A$$. i see my GP on monday, and have my notepad ready. 2 Endos in my network do prescribe Cytomel & run more tests- i will be asking for them. i just want the right meds now- i dont want to wait any longer, ive been gasping for air, and sitting on the toilet for about 5 years now.
  10. everytime ive gone off gluten in the past, and for real this last july-> it's always taken me roughly 3-4 weeks to normalize- there were times in that first month i would feel GREAT- and there were many times where i felt like ANYTHING would give me a gluten symptom.. even just plain old water. once you get into month 2 or 3- you can start judging...
  11. well- im very new to this hypothyroid- still learning from members here and elsewhere. i was just dx w/ hypo almost 7 weeks ago- i dont have advice on dosage- im only on 50mcg synthroid right now- and i am NOT feeling better... in fact im feeling worse. im asking for a hashimoto's test & endo referral this week. i do have to say- ive never seen anyone...
  12. chemistmama- hey ya, it is impossible for me to give up seafood or to survive without ibuprofen... the DH actually surfaced in the first month that i went gluten free- it stuck around for about 4 months.. it's still not quite gone- but fading and not itching anymore. i used some topical ionized silver ointment which calmed it down A LOT. im glad it...
  13. for a Derm, she did pretty well- she also ordered the Endomysial Antibody test i see- which my Gi didnt even order!!!! my GP ordered it. total Iga isnt neccessarily part of the routine Celiac test- but it will help you and your doc read your celiac tests better. Iga is something your immune system makes-
  14. ahh... then u should def get an Iga serum level test- looks like you could be a person with Gluten Intolerance or Celiac with an Iga deficiency. and even if your hives are allergic hives and not DH. they could be due to a wheat allergy in addition to your gluten intolerance. good luck with everything
  15. it's totally possible that teff doesnt agree with you... but i would guess or assume that it was a different ingredient- a strange oil, or other flour... or maybe if its "gluten free <20ppm"- it is affecting you. ?idk ive had several different vegan bakery cupcakes & my sister has made several baked items - all gluten free- and made with teff- and...
  16. eatlovehope: what a great post- happy that your husband plans to be so supportive with u! and DO get your hopes up... relax & put those positive vibes out there! one thing with the thyroid-> the "normal range" of tsh up to 4.5 is not really current with what many endocrinologists are now believing. they now are saying the upper limit for tsh...
  17. i tried this test too- i placed the bandaids with iodine ( 2 of them) next to my suspected DH patch. i only lasted an hour- because of the burn. the skin was stained for about a week. one part of my skin was actually BURNED & peeling & raw. i was afraid cause i only did an hour that it wouldnt work- but i did get a few more DH blisters a day later...
  18. did u possibly mistype your results post? cause both ttg results u posted as Iga... might one of them be Igg ?? and yes- like said above- you need to ask your doc for a "Total Iga Serum" test- this would give u an insight as to whether your iga test are innacurately false for antigliadin and innacurately weak positive for ttg.
  19. yes it's definitely possible... for me (and so many members on here)-> "C" is usually what i get from gluten. way more than "D".
  20. it could be a royal pain in the A... but i guess we could always freshly fry up some onion rings in rice flour... then use those??? i wish i owned a restaurant
  21. i completely agree with everything posted above- great advice. plus- IF u do the endoscopy- make sure the doc takes MULTIPLE biopsies from different areas of the Small Intestine... if there's damage, it could be patchy & sporadic. also- i second above-> definitely get your thyroid numbers checked... thyroid issues (in addition to gluten intolerance...
  22. hey skylark- this is what i used to drink with my pineapple juice: Open Original Shared Link it has all those ingredients, but still says gluten free. i DID switch to plain old Spirulina after reading your guys' comments over the months about concerns over the grasses. years ago, i DID notice that i would get slight intestinal gurgles when i would...
  23. is rye grass the same as rye??? because everything ive read says that wheat grass is not wheat. i actually used to consume Kyogreen (a healthy green powder consisting of Barley grass & wheat grass)- the product was labeled "gluten free". i decided to buy plain old Spirulina the next time because members on here said that wheat could still possibly be...
  24. im not sure. i think i saw on my vanilla lace- that it had Tocopherols (vitamin E- COULD be derived from wheat). i use it all the time (lotion & spray) and dont have a problem, but we're all different. maybe you also have an allergy?
  25. i like almond milk and hemp milk i think my almond milk is that pacific brand... and the hemp is teff something? both vanilla flavored & gluten-free
