  1. Ok, so today is DAY #2 of being Gluten-Free. I actually DO feel better - the little red bumps/dots on my skin are significantly improved, and I noticed that by the end of yesterday. My GI issues have also improved slightly. Considering it's only the second day, I can only hope that things will get better from here. With that being said, although my experience...
  2. Hey all! I'm a newbie to Gluten free. In a book I was reading (Gluten Free Living For Dummies) it said to take your favorite glutenated foods, and make substitutions accordingly; So .... I was wondering what are some of your favorite gluten free cereals and snacks (both naturally gluten-free & specialty) Thanks, Everyone
  3. Thanks for your replies everyone! So I had toast this morning for breakfast, with the bread, and topped it with margarine (I checked, it was gluten free) & a dash of cinnamon-sugar, and I was pleasantly surprised (it was actually, debateably tastier than the "real" stuff) So what other breads do you all like? Are all Kinnikinnick brand breads good...
  4. ohsotired ~ Hey Chick! It was great talking to you tonight, thanks for the support! I am so excited to hear how you enjoy the book, and for you to get all this figured out too! Have a great night, hon curlyfries ~ Thanks so much! I've already posted a few questions here and there around the forum, feel free to answer any of them (or all of them, LoL...
  5. I went out on a limb and baught a loaf of Kinnikinnick Itallian White Tapioca Rice Bread [wow, say that 5 times fast] ~ so it was in the freezer section, and it is currently in my freezer. Now, what to do with it when I am ready to use it, is another story Any great creative ideas for store baught breads (and I have heard Kinnikinnick is good, any...
  6. So, I am surprised - today is DAY #1 Gluten Free, and up until dinner I had done pretty simple stuff - just your everyday regular gluten-free stuff, but by early evening I was starving because I ate significantly less b/c of the less-than-gluten-free-friendly environment I was in. So, I stopped at Kroger (who now has a pretty nice "market" section that contains...
  7. (( Hugs )) As you know, I'm in the same boat, so much support to you! Something else I forgot to mention is, that I personally have had great diagnostic results with is muscle testing through a naturopathic doctor. I have considered going back - but finances do not allow for that at the moment (I dont know of any alternative type medicine that is...
  8. Hey Guys, so I'm new to gluten free - very new (I am on day #1) but I was wondering, where can I find (or can I?) a "cheat sheet" of sorts - small, portable, and easy - that I can take with me to the grocery store - also maybe a handy list that I can put on my fridge with a magnet?

  11. Happy Happy Birthday To You, Ravenwood
  12. I completely relate! I am not officially diagnosed with gluten intolerance, but I do have other food sensitivities and I have an autoimmune disorder that often goes hand in hand with Celiac/Gluten Sensitivity. Even being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, my diagnosis (medical) is not well supported, and is kind of poo-poo'd. I have not yet gone...
  13. I am sure things will go just fine, whenever I have gone in for any type of procedure that they have to anesthesize me, I just think "hey, atleast I'll get a good nap in" and that usually helps to ease my anxiety Well Wishes for the procedure and a speedy recovery ~Jessica~
  14. Hey Everyone, ok so I am a bit confused ! So I did a food sensitivity test that tested positive for the following IgG antibodies/food sensitivities: High Sensitivity to Whole Milk & Whole Eggs; Medium Sensitivity to Wheat (non-gluten) & Cocoa Bean; and Slight Intolerance to Gluten, Rice, Shell Fish, Nut mix, Soya Bean, & Yeast. So, What does this...
  15. I am guessing this is the link (??) I just copied what came up as my URL) Open Original Shared Link
  16. I am sure they are not meaning to be insensitive, even though they are coming across as it. Just stand your ground, it's up to you to set the boundary with them, and it's up to them to respect the boundary.. You also have the choice to associate with them or not if they keep teasing you. Hang in there (( Hugs ))
  17. Omg, LOL - that was great I had a colonoscopy on Tuesday, so that definitely gave me a good laugh. Unfortunately I had to do a few enema's(and didn't get to drink anything, which I would have rathered!) and they didn't give me enough of the verced (the twilight anesthesia) because I rememberparts of the procedure (soooo UNcool) but they did hook me...
  18. Teens can be cruel ! I am sorry for the comments, but really there are a few things to keep in mind. A) Eating disorders tend to be glamourized, so it's only natural for the society in which we live (unforunately) to making assumptions, especially for teenagers You can educate your friends about what eating disorders REALLY are, and what they...
  19. Hello, you sound similar to me and several others who have found our way to this board I too have autoimmune issues: diagnosed with Hashimotos and possible Fibromyalgia (and still undergoing treatment/diagnoses) I have gone through the ringer with doctors for a couple of years now (and doctors not knowing about this disorder or that disease.....
  20. Hope all goes well, you are certainly in my thoughts (( Hugs ))
  21. LoL, I was speaking metaphorically about the pregnancy thing (and not literally) As for the home IgG sensitivity test - I am not entirely sure what I think about it. I haven't paid enough attention to any patterns I've had (i.e., reactions) to each food; but I can say that I eat many of those foods, and the fact that I feel crappy most of the time...
  22. I ordered a home IgG food Intolerance kit from a medical/home-health supplier, and I was shocked at the results. If I could I'd get the one that tested for more intolerances, but it was too $$$ Anyway, the test I got tested for 21 foods: Gluten, Wheat (excluding Gluten), Oat (excluding Gluten), Rice, Whole Milk, Whole Egg, Shell Fish Mix (Shrimp, Crab...
  23. My blog looks all funny, no pictures or icons show up, just a bunch of red "x's" - even when I enable HTML. How do I fix this? Thanks
  24. I ordered a home IgG food Intolerance kit from a medical/home-health supplier, and I was shocked at the results (and suggest anyone getting one! If I could I'd get the one that tested for more intolerances, but it was too $$$) Anyway, the test was for 21 foods - Gluten, Wheat (excluding Gluten), Oat (excluding Gluten), Rice, Whole Milk, Whole Egg, Shell Fish...
