  6. When I researched it, it seemed like you had to eat gluten for 4 months to get an accurate test. To that I would say no way. You don't have to listen to everything the doctor says. At some point they may develop a test that will be accurate without having to eat gluten. I am waiting for that. Doctors are supposed to heal, not make us feel worse....
  7. I can relate when it comes to my behavior! I was on such a mood roller coaster at first. After about 8 months things started evening out. My son, 11, diagnosed at the same time, not so much. However, when he gets accidental gluten contamination that is the first indication of a problem. I think neuraltransmitter levels are normalizing.

  10. Thank you for your kind replies. It wasn't that bad of a reaction, and I am a lot better now. And I wouldn't have put my nose in it if it hadn't been in the gluten free part of the kitchen. I'm not a COMPLETE idiot.
  11. That kind of reaction isn't very helpful. I don't think that fatty diarrhea, blurred vision, mental confusion and arthritis could be caused by a psycho-somatic reaction, but maybe so. Inhaled gluten gets into the stomach via the villa that line the esphagus. Inhaled flour bothers lots of people, why not inhaled bread crumbs?

  13. Here is my theory. I think that celiac disease is actually a family of diseases all of which include gluten intolerance. The fact that different genes are responsible for it is consistent with that.   15. The first while in the gluten free diet you find that you get more sensitive to small amounts of gluten. I kept having to cut more trace amounts. I think I finally got them all now and am doing well except for accidental glutening.   21. I know you have to ingest it, but you can ingest it by breathing it. It happened to me when I through out all our flour. It gets stuck in the nose hairs.   23. If you have a variety of symptoms which go away when you start a gluten free diet, and a lot of them could not be caused by allergy, then they come back when you eat gluten, and they go away again when you stop, how could that be anything but celiac disease?
